I know we still have a few weeks before SZ starts but I thought I would make a check list of things to check on your car before you start. I know it sounds silly, but sometimes you may forget one or two of the things...

Tire pressure and tire wear (spare too)
Top off all fluids (brake, trans, coolent, oil, ps, and washer)
Brake pads
Wheel torque
Belts and Hoses
Batt
Air-conditioning
Have a spare key with you (you dont want to get locked out 500 miles away)

If you can think of some more post em please

drag radials and spare head gaskets?

How about....

Radar Detector
Plenty of music
Drinks

... Oh and a set of nads

Double Edit: These threads pop up everywhere before SZ

He talks like he's driving across country not 2 hrs.

tools
extra waterpump
portable air compressor
crate cleaning supplies, this can also double as a makeshift work bench during an emergency!

Milk crate can also support the corner of the car. So I've been told.

Man, you guys go all out. Call me unprepared, but I usually just wing-it. I don't even put my spare tire back in the trunk.

LOL! I was referring to road trips in general. When I went up to SZ04, I brought a bag of clothes, a drink and a snack for the road, and a few car cleaning supplies.

When an old friend of mine and I took his Mustang down to Louisiana for Mardi Gras, we just said fugg'it and didn't load up the spare or anything. Just took off.

I guess these cars are getting older, and therefore becoming less reliable. I hope everyone gets here safe and sound, with no problems coming up!

Craftsman 200pc tool kit, lightweight racing jack, jackstands, extra axles, and an extra fuel rail.

Tools, headers, detailing supplies..
Posted By: rkneeshaw Re: SZ check list for your car - 05/03/06 02:15 PM
Should I bring my new headers? Do you think someone might feel frisky and wnat to help install them in the parking lot?
Posted By: todras_dup1 Re: SZ check list for your car - 05/03/06 02:26 PM
No.
Posted By: SoundQ SVT_dup1 Re: SZ check list for your car - 05/03/06 05:08 PM
I'll be bringing my 10x10 ez-up canopy as well for Saturday's show-n-shine.

We can either use it to sit in the shade, or I may use it to shade the car to help keep it cool while people are listening to it, or just in case mother nature doesn't cooperate it can be used as a shelter from the elements.

Posted By: m!key Re: SZ check list for your car - 05/03/06 08:49 PM
then stop being soooooooooo white! like the deck shoes, get rid of those and you would proabably gain at least a half hour more in the sun.

Yes. It does make 174hp to the wheels though. Not shabby.
Posted By: MapOfTaziFoSho Re: SZ check list for your car - 05/04/06 12:35 PM
Im affraid my 3L isn't gonna break 200whp. Feels like weaksauce and needs tuning...one more exam and then I hit the tuning books.

How about we tow your car, and leave the tailgate of the truck open so you can retrieve tools from the toolbox and hop onto the trailer to do the install WHILE we drive?
Pitstops are fer eatin' & pissin' only

Kim, ur crazy.

Can we put a lift on the trailer to make the install easier?

After my headers are installed, me and Goonz can switch and put his car on the trailer. Install a 1.8 VTEC in that biotch! That thing will scream compared to his DTEC.

If you have an FRS radio, it might be handy to bring that -- and a charger! I'd make staying together/finding out where to turn/avoiding speed traps easier if we get a big group of us going somewhere together. Might be helpful to talk across the parking lot at the Show & Shine, etc. too.
