Contour Enthusiasts Group Archives
I've been trying to work with Todd James, the director of the fort wayne scca division and apparently we can't swing setting up an autocross like we did last year. Todd told me about a month and a half ago that there may be some confliction with our SZ schedule but he would look into it. I got an email back from him a few days ago, saying that there is an autocross in Peru, IN thats being hosted by the Indianapolis Region.

Maybe this is a good thing, since I think about half the people that autocrossed last year were still hungover from the night before and the other half that "promised" to autocross backed out. Perhaps it would be better to let everyone get their rest and we could look into doing something after 11AM.

I think there is a pretty cool outdoor Go-Kart track less than 10 miles away or so from the hotel. We could look into doing that instead. Its really up to you guys. If you just want to hang out at the hotel and recover from your hangover on the day of departure we can do that too.

There'll be plenty of photography gurus around. We could drive to preset destinations around town (not too far, anyway) and snap some appreciative pics of everyones' cars for those who participate.

Know of any good scenery around?

Just a thought?

yeah, we actually did it last year too during the dyno since some people didnt want to watch the dyno all day long. We had 3 teams participate last year, because I think most people ended up wanting to stay at the dyno anyways. We can look into it though. I know more people will participate if its an actual event.

and since it'll be a Sunday, we'll be less likely to have rush hour traffic to deal with during the rally.

i'm down for anything involving cards, unless it also involves sex without women. and by that, i'm not referring to masturbation.

hold'em sounds good to me though.

euchre would probably be only the guys from MI. i've not yet heard of someone outside of MI learning it from someone who's not from MI.

This is true, my sister goes to school in AZ and whenever she asks if anyone wants to play euchre everyone gives her the "what the [censored] is euchre?!?!" look haha

Just a midwest thing. I've played Euchre for years, but I'm just south of Michigan in Indiana.

I'm all for that.

Who was it I took second behind when we were karting in Detroit year before last...? Hopefully this time Stazi won't get stuck with a velocity-challenged kart, and we can have some good ol' fashioned RACING.

That was I. Was looking forward for my chance to repeat last year, but never happened. Definitly a blast in 04! I take it there is no kart2kart type place nearby FT. Wayne?

Personally I like the photography idea but maybe thats something we can do after the dyno since I'm not sure if I'm gonna hit the track or not.

I've never gone gokarting before so I'm in on that 100%

Who's to say you'll repeat? Being the selfless soul that I am, I shall nobly do my best to remove the burden of victory from your shoulders.

It would be nice if we could get a bunch of carts that were guaranteed to be identical, so we can all do a true driver-to-driver comparison, without anyone's cart being faster than another's. I always enjoyed that about the IROC races.

Thats not exactly far in go karts, say you put me 225 vs JD 135 in the same cart, his will out acellerate mine and be able to carry more speed into the corner becuase of the less weight. To make it really fair it would have to be higher hp Shifter karts. or Autox in stock SVT

You maybe a selfless soul, but I am a cocky a-hole, and I say equal karts there is no comparison . I beleive were probaly about the same weight as well, lol. Did I mention my qualifying kart was my slowest one of the day, I think I had the pole by a second or so.... . Though I will admit I have had my arse handed to me at that track by someone a bit heavier than I

Go karts would be fun, but if there are none like K2K then its pretty much a free for all, and I'm cool with that too

You weren't in my heat when you qualified!

Agreed, though - all trash-talking aside, it'd be a blast no matter what. Hopefully we'll have a go-karting option.
