Yep.. I'm going to add my first and second pull, and I'll be over 200!

I'd like to hit 200whp, probably won't, and that's if i can even make it to the dyno

Unless you add a 3L or a blower..you arent gonna hit 200 hp in the 2.5
Posted By: Tour_Racer00 Re: SZ06 Dyno - 11/16/05 07:03 AM
I'm lookin for 155-160 once I get headers installed. Already got the 2.5" catback on now with a testpipe(I love minnestoa emmisions)

How long have you been a member here Alex? Have you not paid one bit of attention to what people put down with N/A 2.5L's? I finally jumped over the 200whp mark this year with a tuned 3L.

werd.....

So are we going to starp the leaf blower on my SE? I won't do it with the SVT, but if we have some time to kill, let's throw the SE on there too and boost it up.
Posted By: MapOfTaziFoSho Re: SZ06 Dyno - 11/16/05 04:04 PM
I'm hoping for a lil over 200whp.
Posted By: BiggsvT28 Re: SZ06 Dyno - 11/16/05 04:23 PM
If the car is done by then i'll happily be a late entrant with some decent numbers.

Who are you? Name changes are ghey.

This is something Jim and I were talking about. We wanted to do the resistor chip mod on the dyno, and maybe the leaf blower mod. The leaf blower will have to have a long etension tube, as I know Phil doesn't want people directly to the side of the car while on the dyno.

Ooooooooh.. I can't tell who is who, unless you still have your name in your sig, or something else I'd recognize from your old name.

we were actually thinking about renting one of those industrial size leaf blowers where you have push it around and then run a long hose to the intake of the car. Sounds fun, but im sure Phil at Dynotech will laugh at us LOL.

As i've said 5 times before....you are more than welcome to give it a shot on my SE.

Yeah, i know it won't happen.

Lets ind poeple willing for us to guinea pig their car for the leaf blower/ leaf blower+nitrous runs

I was under the impression that hitting 180+whp was pretty solid. Beyond that takes internal mods, FI, or 3L.

A good PnP job, port matching EVERYTHING, headers & true duals, and an awesome tune might get you pretty close to the 200 mark, but that's pushing it. With all that work, you might as well drop in a 3L

Posted By: The Five-Oh! Re: SZ06 Dyno - 11/16/05 09:55 PM
then i'll just hope for say 150
Posted By: Tuned3900SFI Re: SZ06 Dyno - 11/17/05 01:34 AM
150 would be low for you Alex. 160-ish should be on cue with yours. Keep in mind my old tour' put down 179/159tq. Don't think any other SVT has ever put more than that without anything done to teh motor itself or chip.

What is considered "anything done to the motor"?

Mark
Posted By: Tuned3900SFI Re: SZ06 Dyno - 11/17/05 02:16 AM
PNP heads, high # injectors, chip, extra Extrude hone pass to the manifolds.. etc. Even the focus Fuel pump I'd consider "uping" the anti, in a sense.

..Hmm, gutted precats would be considered, though. Shoot.. nevermind.
Posted By: Y2KSVT Re: SZ06 Dyno - 11/17/05 03:12 AM
gutted precats? That's not touching the engine. By your notion, you're talking about a bone stock engine with zero bolt-ons. If so, you fell out of that category with the K&N filter.

Barge was at like 182fwhp iirc with pretty much just a tweecer

I'll bring the straight jacket to restrain you when you find out how far you surpass your goal!

My car put down 181/165ish at our Lansing, MI dyno meet few years back, with just a cold air intake.

i'm interested to see what my 96 puts down..svt engine,optimized tb,msds headers,ypipe,dyno tuned chip(by then) and a 75shot(maybe100?)

...yeah...didnt know we were doing that already
...oh yeah forgot 2.5 exhaust and cc cold air intake

yeah, SZ registration opened less than a week ago. Half the dyno spots have already been taken. Theyre going quick!

I don't think 200 whp is too lofty of a goal for an NA 2.5L.

On a dynojet I made as mentioned above 183.5hp with my car. Other svt's were making predictable numbers so I know the dyno wasn't being screwy.

I had a clean intake tract and a pro-m maf and a tweecer.

The previous year w/ similar weather conditions I made like mid 160's.

With headers and an exhaust I think I could have hit 200 or been close.

I've always thought about nitrous but i always realized if i drive like a crazy ass already i really shouldn't encourage that.

Strong cars with out cracking open the motor and/or significant tuning peaked at about the 179 mark...

This car had intake & exhaust (mystery mod) only for mechanicals when this dyno run happened. Hitting 200 FWHP would be a real challenge in a NA 2.5 SVT w/out new mapping at the very least
Posted By: Pre98 Re: SZ06 Dyno - 01/03/06 06:28 PM
I won't expect anything more than 145-150 out of the autotragic Pre98 (once it has headers).

The car ran 139whp with a nearly blocked fuel filter and a bad hose onn the UIM. Maybe my numbers will be "shocking" this time around? :shrugs:

Registering tomorrow on my day off

Need to take my place repping the "high" power ATX.
Posted By: Tour_Racer00 Re: SZ06 Dyno - 01/13/06 03:14 AM
How much more power should I be expecting with headers, catback exhaust, and hopefully a y-pipe? Then if I get some extra cash I'll be getting the XCal as well. My last dyno run was with a glasspack in place of the resonater and a cheapo glasspack like muffler at the rear.

without the xcal...i'd add about ten-12 horses to your figure in the sig..with the xcal..depending on the tune..prob about 19,20 something like that
