Hey I'm a newbie over here from newcougar...

I have a 99 ATX 2.0 couga with a transmission computer problem I guess the problem is..

Symptoms are i have no speedo, slams around my mounts when it does attempt to shift which isnt very often and is slow as a mofo, i usually just start in 1st and work my way up to drive when i do have to drive it, only getting into drive if im lucky.

I had my tranny rebuilt a few months ago, the car ran spectacular until a week later i got hit in my front end, passenger side wheel ripped off and fun stuff like that and it hasnt ran since.
I've had it in and out of shops around the pittsburgh area and i guess the tranny is good and the wiring is good so im taking it to the dealership next week and guessing im going to need my computer serviced.

I was wondering how much something like this is gonna run me and any other input would be appreciated, thx.

Those are symptoms of a problem with the vehicle speed sensor or it's circuit.

Ehhh I had a speed sensor replaced not sure if there's more than one or not and plus it has been to a dealership and a few tranny places so it better be more than a sensor!!! lol but I'm banking on it's a computer problem looking for how much it's going to cost me monday to get this taken care of FINALLY...

VSS is cheap, tranny is expensive. I would hope it is a VSS or VSS wiring issue.
