while changing my shifting cable i notice this small kind of spring (dont know how to explain and the name of it) on the right of the shifter.

Anyway there two leg on it and one of them is broken and i was wondering what the purpose of this parts, and ford told me that its cant come alone, i have to buy the whole shifter.

So first question, whats the purpose of it
second question, if its important do somebody have one for sell ?

thx

sounds like you are talking about the centering spring, it is suppose to bring the shifter to neutral when you take the shifter out of gear

I left mine in, alot say you don't need it, so its your call. however I did help a 00 SVT owner put his back in with his B&M shifter and he liked it better with the centering spring, so its all personal preference. Oh yeah some say you can shift faster without it

ok i guess i will replace everything and see the difference by the time i will decide if i should search for a new one.

I wouldn't spend the money on it. A lot of people ditch the centering spring when going with an aftermarket shifter anyway.
