Today, after five years (five years on August 5, 2006), I am no longer a Security Officer with Trammell Crow. It's been five LONG years that I have been wanting to get out, and five years of crap that I've had to deal with.

I start my new job on Monday, August 14, 2006. I will be a personal loan consultant for a nationwide mortgage company here in Plano, Texas. This basically means a whole new life for my family.

Anyway, go me

I'd love to tell the whole story of how I got the job, but there's only one person on this site that it might matter to. And if you're reading this, I want you to know that this job "dropped" in my lap (per se), like I said it would because I waited and trusted and put my choices in the right places, and then worked my butt off through three interviews.

Anyway, pat me on the back and wish me luck! (was that too much? Eh, I'm excited...)

cool...I grew up in Plano...I haven't been back for several years now.
Congrats on the new job. When you're stuck at a job that doesn't challange you, that you don't like, and that you are more than overqualified for, it wreaks havoc on not only your life but the lives of your family. Remember that EVERYTHING you do affects your children in one way or another.

A better you will equal a better family dynamic and a better life for everyone involved.

Awesome! Now you get to tell people what to do! Congrats!
ummm... how do you work your butt off at a job interview?

I wish you luck, but I do hope you realize the mortgage game is highly competitive both amongst consultants within a company and between companies. It is a wonderful opportunity, but it's also not an easy one.
Just wanted to offer congrats on the new job.
Talk about a change! I went from managing a toy store in a mall with a bunch of hot teenage chicks to working for a trucking company in the shop. No skirts here.
