To answer your question, well yeah I was... but it ain't all that bad. Still was one of the fastest atx zetecs around (ok, I can count on one hand the people that really modded them).

I didn't have a chance to post this last night, glad I searched instead of just re-posting!

I really don't like this new shop, GAS. I miss the West Coast guys. These new guys just waaaayyy over act. What's with the spiked haired guy, and the owner is pure cheese. That show has always been full of bad jokes, but the GAS guys have taken it to a new, horrible bad level.

That Monte Carlo was BAAADDD! As in bad, bad not bad a@$. Horrible. I actually felt bad for the kid.

The Contour should be interesting, looked like a female owner. Yes, some sort of dark green with a tear across the hood, I think. It was a quick shot. Anything might be better than how it looked "before". It is TRASHED!

But you know it will be extra ricey when they are done. They just can't seen to resist put monitors EVERYWHERE! I don't like the paintjobs they do, but I have to respect the talent. The airbrushed Leopard spots last night were nicely done.

Thursday night 10:30pm MTV.

Lets hope for no espresso machines,chandelier's or waterfalls is all i'm gonna say!

interesting when did they change shops youll have to forgive me i havent been watching tv latly that show alway comes on at a time were im busy doing something else

it will probly have:

20+ inch rims
atleast 5 lcd tv s 2 of witch will be in some obscure area
a sub setup that will leave 2 inches on truck space when done
the most ricy body kit you will ever see on a contour
and about 10 other complete useless things that nobody would want

i hate these "themed" chops. why don't they really turn it into a nice car. and what's the point of installing $20k of electronics in a car that will sit out in the "hood" most days. get these people a 'tazer and some cash to move to a nicer neighborhood!..

FWIW...Galpin Auto Sports is an off-shoot of the Galpin Ford dealership which is either the largest or one of the largest in the country. Like most rich kids, the guy who started GAS did it with the family's money; convinced daddy that he could do the car customizing "thang" on his own. But "Galpinizing" as it is called, has been around since the 1960's. They used to do legit performance mods to early t-birds and mustangs. Like a Yenko for Ford buyers. Now it's all about big speakers and spinnies.

I did know about the shop change, but does anyone know WHY they changed? My guess is they focused on the most entertaining crew member, and when he jumped shops, so did the show. Just a guess mind you.

The one thing I DO like about PMR is that they do a lot of custom fabricating, even if it is ridiculous some times. Some of the paint jobs have been pretty tight too. That said, whenever they get an import to pimp, damn...more rice than in all of China!

Should be interesting to see what they do to the Contour. I do remember an old Escort they grafted a BMW front end on. It turned out REALLY nice.

No kidding, that is something I have always wondered. A long time ago they had a kid that was driving an escort that's front was an 87' and the rear was an 85' and unsafely welded in the middle and ended up giving him a new pimped out Xb.

There is no doubt that the Xb didn't last long if the kid is driving a POS, he's probably living in the hood where a vehicle with 20K of electronics won't last long, no matter what security system you have.

BTW- that escort was the best thing they have done to date!

the prelude to a ashow will have the truck owners wife talking bout how the truck puts food in the 6 kids mouths, but it is always breaking down and taking money away from the family...so they dump $80K into paint and body mods, put a fireplace in the sleeper, but never fix the mechanicals!

PMR seems to be pretty good about getting the car running right. Not to the extent they do on OverHaulin' but still.

What I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see is a "where are they now?" episode. Go back and see how trashed/violated these cars have become since they were pimp'd. That would be THE BEST!!!

i liked it when they did that with overhaulin..they brought back about 4 cars and did a full review of the work that was done to them.

They do engine work but i don't think they show it.

Overhaulin is a much better show in general.

GRM Magazine should do a show.

They put a new engine in some chicks' VW thing. I think it came from the new GTI

I liked Pimp My Ride better when West Coast Customs was running the show. It's not as good now that Galpin Auto Sports is on the show. It's less entertaining.

I just saw the preview tonight of the white pre-98 GL. I hope they don't make it look bad.

they do do the egine work and stuff. they had a episode a while back because people were e-mailing pmr asking if they just do the body and paint so they showed all the engine work and other crap that they didnt show on the episodes because the editores thought that it want as important to show the engine and mechanical work as it was to show how to put cosmetics on a car.

Supposedly the taping of the show was starting to take up too much time and effort for the West Coast guys. What was supposed to be a side thing had turned into a full time job which was taking away from the time and skill available to the actual customers.

Agreed 100% They coulda just painted it either Tropic Green or that Red they had for the claw marks.

i'd say it looks pretty good, the tear is nice but the colors suck and the rims are too chrome. The interior is completely redone with fiberglass.

The cannon and hammock idea is crap. Its the worst thing i've ever seen.

LOL. Well. If a guy owned that Contour maybe it would have came out more manly but it was rather girlish to me. Stupid little addition of those toys didnt do much, although I would use that exhaust launcher thing all the time to F up people behind me. Other than that, the kit was decent, the wheels were sexy, the graphics were so ugly unbelievable, decent colour, but the ride looked too high for my liking. Interior was fugly. I still prefer my 96 Tour lol wooooh! Oh well a little bit of a disappointment, but entertaining nonetheless.

ok i think everyone's missing the point that the car is not meant to be taken seriously.

That car was screwed up by a bear - which is funny enough by itself! (the bear even pooped in the car!) so the "anti bear" cannon was a great idea - for a joke - though i have no idea how they found something like that. Xzibit's reaction was also priceless. The paint followed through on the bear theme...and the interior looked comfortable to me. Not my choice of color, but still goes with the whole wilderness/outdoors theme. Same again goes for the hammock in the trunk.

Why is everyone getting bent out of shape over a joke? PMR is like the OCC of the auto industry. They take a car from someone, and redo it around a "theme" based on the owner. This is the whole reason WCC backed out from doing the show. None of these cars are meant to be taken seriously.

I thought the weirdest part was that they wrapped the interior w/ salmon skin. I can understand the theme, but wouldn't that attract bears.

Overall, it turn out pretty nice. They kept to a theme is what you have to remember. I want to know what they did to the Zetec motor! At least I'm pretty sure it was a Zetec.

There new paint guy sucks. Their old one at West Coast wasnt bad, but this new guy sucks. They made that Contour look horrible. I liked it better after the bear attacked it.

I kind of disagree with everyone.

1) Get rid of bear tears... then paint is sweet.

2) Get an SVT body kit.

3) I appreciate the trunk but lose the hammock. The audio set up is pretty sweet... I mean custom fiberglassing is always great.

4) The interior although overdone, is custom and I appreciate that.

W/ a few minor changes and a s/c I think it would be pretty nice.

So I'd have to disagree with ou guys and say that I'd rather have that then the car beforehand.

PS the tinted tails go pretty well but needs clear front markers.

I thought the bear tears in the paint were alright. The color was awesome and the body kit seemed to go well with the body. The rims although good, were a lil much for daily "off road" use. The "real" salmon skin...i can see animal rights activists all over that LOL.... and personally i think that i would have passed on that. Otherwise the interior didn't turn out too bad i guess. Tinted tails were awesome, but the hammock idea and the gun under the bumper were pretty dumb. Overall it wasn't bad. I laughed my arse off when Xzibit said at the beginning that "The Ford Contour is the car they give you at the rental place when they have nothing else to rent you". My little brother (8 years old) said "well so what...thats a GL, not an SE or an SVT!" I thought that was awesome!!!

How long do you think it will be before she takes that thing off road while camping, or whatever, and rips off that body kit?

Yea she said she liked going off road. Showed her in that ditch! Maybe she'll take care of it. I didn't think it was the worst PMR by far. I liked the interior. Just not in that car. LOL! Take off the canon shiz and the hammock it would be a decent car for a young girl.

I really liked the upholstery. Reminded me of a saddle leather interior. Didn't care for the door panels, and they needed to find a better mounting location for the computer. I liked the green they used, and I like the red they used, just not together. I will agree that the graphics scheme sucked. I expected the wheels to be chrome. They ALWAYS use chrome. I was really surprised they didn't lower it any. Too much wheel gap! Since she's such a camper and loves the outdoors so much, this would have been a perfect car for an airbag suspension. Up for camping and dirt roads, down for the highway.

Best part of the makeover? NO FREAKIN' RICER WING ON THE TRUNK!!!

Two would you not clean the mud/miscellanous bear destoried parts?

Three, That bumper, the door panel? those are not bear claw marks. It looks like the cuts from a dremmel in the bumper... If a bar took a swing at a eurothene bumper it would just shatter. Hell I could crack my rear bumper if I punched it hard enough, let alone winny the pooh. Same for the door panel. Even a cub would be strong enough to pull one of those off.

The car looked meh. And I'm sure the paint on the plastic trim will start to peel off about 10 miles away from the shop.

I don't think they were pretending the mud on the car was from the bear attack. I think that close encounter was some time ago. She was always taking the car offroad to go camping, hence the new mud.

I also thought the bear claw slash marks on the bumper were a little too perfect.

The show is just sooo crazy over the top, especially with the new cast/ shop.

Did you miss the home video of the bear in the car? Or did the show make that up too?

funnier than the pic of the bear locked inside was the present left of the console...it answers the question we have all wondered: does a bear shiz in a contour?

usually i hate the finished product on that show but i didn't think the contour was as bad as alot of other things they've done. the hammock wiped out the one useful part of a contour...the trunk space
