I'm sure a lot of people have thought of this, not just here but for other cars, but I was thinking that for those of us who don't have projectors, or even bright HID kits, to possibly drill a hole with a decent sized bit straight in the middle of that metal holder in the low beam socket. My theory, or thinking behind this is if it's a straight centre hole, the light will reflect off the reflectors inside but ALSO come through as a straight beam, kinda like looking at your high beam pattern in the rain or fog. It works on my mom's Saturn Vue, that's the thing they go with, my only question would be is that too much light?
You would have to use high beam bulbs as the 9006's have a coating on the tip. Too much time for that little benifit if any. Plus the 9005's witout the hole should do a decent enough job anyway...
SILVERSTARS 9005 FTW!!!
oh i already have that mod done, I was thinking this would further enchance it? is that an enhancement further?
btw, what size bit should I use to drill through?
It will only hurt you. Dont do it.
If you want more light output, get HIDs. It's the only way.
I saw little to no improvement trying different bulbs, aiming, 9005 into 9006 mod, etc.
alrighty, that makes sense, might as well then. But then if I get HIDs, it's going to trigger that chain reaction of me getting the projectors as well, then that triggers $1000 of spending on exhaust, intake, SVT TB, UIM etc.
