Added to Electronics Aesthetics FAQ

I created this FAQ to help other CEGers figure out what parts are needed to install fog lights onto there Contour. There seems to be alot of confusion as to what stock fog lights and brackets are interchangeable.

First, some pictures of the 2 different style fog light brackets being used on the Contours.

95-97 GL/LX/SE and 98-00 SVT

98-00 GL/LX/SE

Fog lens without brackets

95-97 GL/LX/SE, fog bracket base

This next part can get confusing so read carefully. Pre-98 bumpers have the lower portion of the fog bracket (or base you might call it) molded into the bumper as shown in the 2 pictures directly above. The upper bracket that the lens actually attaches to is now obsolete, and no longer sold by Ford. So if you need upper bracket section shown in the first 2 pictures at the top, you need to buy a complete fog lens with bracket assembly (for 95-97 GL/LX/SE and 98-00 SVT). The only section of the bracket assembly that is still sold, is the base used on the SVT, which is not molded on the bumper like the Pre-98.

Now the important information you wanted, part numbers and current Team Ford prices.

Fog lens with upper brackets:
95-97 GL/LX/SE, 98-00 SVT F5RZ-15200-A - $76.11

98-00 GL/LX/SE F8RZ-15200-AA - $52.53

Brackets only:
95-97 GL/LX/SE, 98-00 SVT (upper bracket only, base molded into bumper except SVT) OBSOLETE, NO LONGER AVAILABLE FROM FORD

98-00 SVT (bracket base only) F8NZ-15266-AA - $9.01

98-00 GL/LX/SE (upper bracket only) PART NUMBER STILL NEEDED

98-00 GL/LX/SE (bracket base only) F8RZ-15266-AA - $12.24

Fog lens only:
95-00 GL/LX/SE/SVT F5RZ-15L203-A - $31.99

Use these to maybe, install stock fog lights on your car and never had them from the factory. Maybe you wanted to install a SVT bumper on your SE, but don't know what brackets you needed to mount your aftermarket fogs. Well now you know. ;

You cannot buy the square plastic bracket that the foglight itself attaches to. The "bracket," atleast on an SVT is merely a piece that the entire foglight assembly screws to, and the bracket itself is screwed to the car. You must buy the whole fog light assy for $75 (i know, i just went through this myself)

Thank you for clearing that up. The whole bracket thing was very confusing to research about. After talking back and forth will Bill, I thought I had it all figured out, but now I understand it 100%. I'll work with GTO Pete on correcting and updating the information in this thread.

That sucks. I thought it was a steal to get the bracket that cheap. Looks like I'm off to the junk yard now that I know what I'm looking for.

An edited version of the FAQ was sent to Pete and he will post when he gets a chance. I've cleared up more information about the brackets. Thanks for the patience guys. It's been tough figuring out all the part numbers, model, and year changes.

I just did also thinking that it was the whole bracket

oh well, time to ahve some fun, I have the original fogs out of my 99 and since the bracket around the light is the same I will just be creative and make a bracket for the bottom.

The upper brackets from your 99 should not be the same as SVT. Please double check and confirm it.

yes, it is different on a whole, just as you have shown in the pictures. But I held the SE fog lamp assemble to the SVT bumper and the size of the lens was correct and the to pmounting point seemed to line up, will confirm this weekend

Makes sense now. So basically your setup will be a SE upper bracket and a custom made base.

I did too, but didn't find out until after the part arrived

here is the post 98 fog lamp mounted on a SVT bumper, as I figure the lamp and the bracket around the lamp and the upper mounting point is the same but the moutning point on the bottom is different.
