These are pics of my fix for the dash warp. Anybody that has seen my car knows that it was so bad that the dash touched the windshield. All I did was get the vent piece off a pre 98.....trimmed as necessary and I screwed it in.

It defintely looks A LOT better!

What do you think? Anybody who wants any more info or pics let me know.

Does your defroster still work?? I see batting through the slot in that one "after" picture...

It works a lot better. Before my defroster BARELY worked. You can see it because of the angle of the pic.

I wanna see what the pre 98 defroster vent looks like outside the car, i guess I don't understand the diff. (no, i've NEVER looked inside a pre-98)
Also, did you have to remove your dash to do this? I'd imagine ya did.

I don't understand what you did. My dash warp is worse than yours in my 00 SVT and I would love to do something about it. Is the dash from a pre 98 different from a 98+? I would like to see an after picture from the same angle as your first picture.

Looking GOOD Hec! I had a friend up the street pull my glass out(it was alot easier to get to the dash that way) and use high temp epoxy and @ 10 black screws in the plastic vent to hold it down. He put the screws into the metal support frame under the dash so it shouldn't be going anywhere soon. They're pretty flush so it doesn't look all ghetto and mess.

Speaking of your SVT guages since they're 160 and regulars are 130 doesn't that mess your speedo up bad or did you have it calibrated on dyno or something?

Thanks.

I did the whole cluster....not just the face. The speed is pretty accurate....maybe 1 mph off.

Sweet, I'll have to check that out.

Mine was covered under recall by ford, you sure your not elligible for recall, or has it run out?
Posted By: MxRacer Re: My dash warp fix. - 07/29/05 05:15 AM
not only does the recall not cover it, the extended warranty doesn't either.
Posted By: Big_B Re: My dash warp fix. - 07/29/05 02:20 PM
Wow, that looks awesome. I really need to do this, as my dash warp seemed to get a lot worse the last couple of weeks with these 110 degree heat indexes.

The funny thing is almost all of those stickers on that cabinet in the backround were from parts I bought for my car!

I see you've put a lot of money into this car but you still have the ANCO wiper blades on your car. How often do you replace them? Every other week? those blades suck. You should really invest in some higher quality blades. They aren't as nearly as expensive as most of the things you've done with it. Maybe get a set of Bosch blades or even Rain-X blades.

I don't know about you, but I don't appreciate a streaky windshield.

-just a tip.

Posted By: kontour_sev6 Re: My dash warp fix. - 11/06/05 01:21 PM
Yeah...I own Anco's too...your right they do suck, but Advance ain't open at 6:30 in the AM like WallyWorld is. And I work nights SUCKA!!!

Come change my blades dude!

Dumb question, where are the screws?
Posted By: Loco4G63 Re: My dash warp fix. - 06/07/06 12:57 AM
1 in each corner of the dash by the windshield.
