You can check all the available plate nameshere , i know the plate i want, and it will be great, but if you take it i kill you dead. If your taking off from wither a cop or someone who sucks and is tryiung to report you, you'll be gone before they scramble it out correctly.

check it out

I tried getting "BIG NIG" but they wouldn't allow it (I actually tried to twice). If I end up keeping my msytique then I'm going to get "MYMSTAKE"(My Mistake).

On top of that, that plate combination isn't allowed: MA sucks ... no numbers allowed in the first two character places, plus the numbers and letters can't interchange. Basically it means you can only put numbers at the end of your plate.

And SVT_Driver627, your plate wouldn't work in Massachusetts either because they decide whether the plates are appropriate for use (no sexual innuendo, racist or anything else that would get people riled up, and it's actually stated on the website no similar-looking numbers or letters in confusing combinations.) Plus only six characters in MA.

and as Goonz said it's ridiculously expensive - annual $73 fee for vanity plate renewal.

I hate this state's RMV

I was contemplating one of these plates though, "only" biennial $81 fee:

Or one of these, since I live in the Blackstone Valley area (Blackstone River runs through my town), same fees:

Only problem is, with those you can't choose your own numbers!

That one's not a vanity plate.

He got that one through a friend of a friend who had connections to the RMV. Because it was (at one time) a state-issued, green-and-white plate and had been taken off the road, they changed it from his friend's name to his. Remember, how he was saying it was awesome because through that he didn't have to pay vanity fees, because strictly speaking it wasn't a vanity plate?

###XXX was the older style of plate naming in MA, began in the 70s and used for a long time - the style that's on his hearse.
#### XX was implemented in the early 90s IIRC and was used until late 2002. My favorite plate format, we got an awesome tag number when my parents bought the Contour in 2001.
##X X## was implemented in 2002 and is still used. It's my least favorite plate style so of course it's the one I get stuck with when I finally register cars in my old name.

Believe it or not, the green/white plates were supposed to be rid of in 1989 but due to funding problems, we see many grandfathered from their registration time still on the road today.

The following is a clip of rules copied from the RMV website:

i have thought of some good ones before but most have already been taken.
for my bro-in-law's focus i came up with "LOFOCUS"
and for mine "SVT4STV" my name is Steve thought it was cool cuz same letters as SVT and well you get it...

a friend of mine had a bagged chevy truck, back when bagging was new. his license plate was the shizzle, IMO, it was "LWONAIR"

pun license plates are always the coolest!

i tried to get "SHAVEDHO" for my shaved Honda. it passed the initial test at the DMV but then got shot down at the final review up at Sacramento. took them about SIX months to refund my payment!

In Ontario we can have up to 8 characters in our plates, cos for the last few years we've had 4 letters and 3 numbers in our plates. (4+3+space = 8)
For my 'Tique, which is blacked out,I want to get one of the following:

"BIGPIMPN" "OUTPIMPN" "2PIMP" "2PIMPD" "PMPDADDY"

"BASSBOOM" "REVOEVOM" <-- read backwards "EM TAE" <-- read backwards

My SVT has SVTSVT for a plate.

and matty is right on with the hearses plate.
it was on a friends car in college, he had no clue what his plate was, never mind what it meant.
so when i saw him last x-mas i asked him about it.
he said he just turned it in.
so i made a phone call and 3 weeks later i had the plate.

it can be taken in two different aspects.
one being sexual and the other not.
the cool thing is the fact that the hearse is a 1969 model.
the plate is 694 XTC.

i think personalized plates are dumb. Just easier for someone to write down your plate. Plus you got to pay more for vanity plates every year here in ontario. I think its more of a challenge to come up with somthing that means something with the plates your given. if i was to get a vanit plate id make fun of myself and get something like crappy or mystake.

I don't have or use Photoshop. That is a regular digital pic of my car while I had a fake plate bolted on it. I use the fake plate at shows so spectators don't see my real plates. I bought it from a vendor at the World of Wheels show a couple years back.

Posted By: Pre98 Re: Good License Plate names - 02/11/05 10:30 PM
<---

That's what mine will be

and that MNMNMNM one..that's a freakin great idea. Cool at first, but how many OTHER plates will be like it in the database? I know all see where I'm headed with this, the cop will use the first three letters and arrange them till your cars description/name pops up.

Then they'll be at your house with the video

But the principal idea behind it definately gave me a laugh
Posted By: The Five-Oh! Re: Good License Plate names - 02/11/05 10:35 PM

this reminds me of an article i read in the newpaper a few years ago about some dude who didnt know what to put for his plate so he got "no plate". he kept getting notices to appear in court because he had about a bazillion outstanding parking tickets. they said that most meter maids or cops who write parking tickets, and there is no plate, write "no plate" and they automatically assigned them to his car. he said it became a MAJOR pain in the ass trying to get it all cleared up even well after he had gotten rid of the plates. they gave some examples of some other people who had similar stories like "NA" "EMPTY" and "BLANK"

SVT 24V

24 valves aren't a big deal now, but it was in 1999! At first glance it doesn't look personalized.

The car is for sale in the classifieds.

Just put in the order for my new one, I stayed simple by getting 00 SVTC because my dad thought FST 4DR was "advertising" to get my car vandalized or stolen or something. Oh well, the other one will look good anyway, as it should for $100

I saw an STI the other day with 0260IN5.

I thought up a bunch way back when.

VTECTHS
VTECWHT
VTCWHAT
VTECHUH
NAHNDUH (NOT A HONDA)
RICETHS
NOTRICE

I know a guy with an 03 Cobra (modded, >600hp) that had NOTA510. Apparently 510 is police talk for "speeding vehicle".

Another guy I know has 4DCURVS, since he runs lots of Auto-X.

I actually got DRFTRSX for the old 240SX I had (cough*[censored]*cough), but there was a mixup at the MVD and I never actually got it. I sold the car soon thereafter, so I didn't care.

I'll probably get BOOSHAY for my Coug in August, since thats my nickname from all my friends.

So far out of all these plates listed, I think maybe like 3 of them are actually usable in CT.

Posted By: Kremithefrog Re: Good License Plate names - 04/24/06 03:10 AM
I don't like floridas but I like how georgia made the www and gov smaller than georgia. Gives the plate some symmetry, atleast compared to the florida plate.

My friend had a Lincoln Leap The Ditch (LTD) that he put a 351 windsor in and built up for the Fun Ford weekend. Plates read 4DRFURY. It was the biggest sleeper car I've ever seen. rust bucket that ran 12's and pulled the front wheels off the ground at the track.

As for me. I am gonna wait until I graduate college and put on WLDENGR (welding engineer)

I saw a red Corvette Convertible right after the C5s came out in 1997 that had the plate: C54FUN

Then there was this woman in Ohio who got a plate that was randomly generated which read: BLO4SEX (Honk for Sex)

After that Ohio instituted the board that reviews custom license plate requests. I guess they figured if the random generator came up with deviant things that the people of Ohio could come up with much worse things.
