Next meet ideas. - CEG Archives

We would have to go to Byron Dragway for a weekend meet. Joliet/66 only has 'test and tune' on Tuesdays.

Wouldn't mind commin' out for a track day. Maybe too far for a BBQ...for me at least. CAN'T FRICKIN' WAIT 'TILL NATIONALS!!!

Track day is a possibilty. Where are the other "regulars?"

How does the June 24th Test and Tune night work for everyone??

There is also a Fun Ford Weekend at Rt. 66 on July 25-26. It's mostly Stangs, but I went to one before and there is a car show, too, besides racing.

I don't have the vacation time to use to take off on a tuesday so I would suggest a meet at byron or great lakes on the weekend.

What times do these usually go on? I know you said night so that is a plus.

they start at 4 i think and go till late. have we ever stayed the whole time? usually someone ends up breaking something.

A good place to meet is the McDonalds on Farnsworth Av, about 1-2 miles south of I-88.

We usually do a little bit of everything...and a little more of the goofing off.

I vote for the oil change meet!

Were there any pre 95-97 Contours there with tan interiors? Looking for those year headrests, I want to do retrofit like Hector has done.

Unfortunately no.

there were hardly any usuable Contour parts at the yard, I was pretty pissed. Though Steve did find his pocket full of switches, we're still trying to figure out how they got there.

a tour gets picked over rather well after hector gets ahold of it....

Yeah but there are only so many parts on man can take. Anyway from what I've seen Thunderbird usually attack him while he's trying to get parts. This would seem to slow him down, but no, he just get pissed off and kicks it.

We can get a few oil changes done too, maybe even a wax job if we start early enough.

They should be somewhere on this forum. I know how to get to I-88, I have done some driving to aurora and bolingbrook a couple times.

Just tell me where and when and ill try and make it.

You can follow us, I usually meet up with Hector then we shoot out to Joes house.

yea steve has been here a number of times but he STILL doesn't know where he is going

It's pretty easy to get out there. The map help a lot. I had almost no problems other then MapQuest telling one extra street that left me at some park. But you'll figure it out.

Hey we passed the park when Hector let me in front and I passed the exit

Looks easy enough, a couple blocks off of I-88. Well as soon as i find out when it is, I can figure out what im going to do and if i can go.

Lithium if you are going to follow Hector and Steve (and Kevin?), be prepared to keep up 'cause they drive crazy-like.

it isnt the ones who drive around like they have fast cars that you have to watch out for. it is the ones that drive slowly and have a lot more horses under their foot that are the dangerous ones.

Perhaps you don't but steve does. You should have seen him. Some ZX2 came up behind us drving down north ave. trying to race or something. Steve decided to take him up on it. You can ask him how fast he was going. I tried to keep up, but decided 80 was too fast to be going in a 40. If that ain't nut I dunno what it.

The funny part is when Sean did catch up, the ZX2 thought he was me and wanted to race again!

Where: Tweeter on Rt 59 by Fox Valley Mall/Aurora

Why?

Because I'll be there running a car show and car stereo contest. Come on out and have some fun! Every Tweeter show held in the Chicago area has been bigger than the one before. The last Tweeter show (May 18 in Gurnee) had 82 cars at it!!

Come on out and join in the fun!! Enter the car show, and maybe

CEG can win a $100 gift certificate

for trophies and or awards from Award Authority for best participation from a car club. I think that would go a long way toward things for NMO3, especially if you do it a second time at the Downers Grove Tweeter on July 20. Think about it... $200 toward paying for any awards or trophies to be handed out at the National Meet. Now that would be cool! (Note: 5 entries minimum required for a club to be recognized as a club at the show)

Hey that Tweeter is only like 10 minutes from me. Is anyone gonna make it to that?

Meet at Joes house somewhere around noon. Tell Kev to freeze the steaks, he's unwillingly volenteered for the next meet at his house.

The deal....I work Saturday evening from 1pm-11pm.
