Allrighteethen. Would Sat. the 29th work for everyone? Since tickets haven't been purchased yet, I'll see if I can arrive on the 23rd, and leave the next Sunday, the 30th. I have to stay at or below what the ticket price for arriving on Monday and leaving on Friday would be, and I found some flights that'll do just that.

Soooo, Saturday July 29: Hooters + go-karts? Or???

Works for me! I got into town yesterday evening. I tried to rent a Fusion, but they had just rented the last one two minutes earlier! So, if you see a red Pontiac G6 with Indiana plates cruising around the Schaumburg area -- and beyond -- it could be me! And no, I haven't installed any antennas on the rental car.

...Well, not on the outside, anyway.

I drove by a car show at Menards (I forget the mall name) in Hoffman Estates tonight on my way to Steak 'n Shake. I stopped by there for a while after dinner, and took some pictures. No Contours there, but a lot of other nice cars. I guess they have a show there every Friday.

Hooters is along the western E Golf Road access road to Woodfield Mall. It looks like it's the second RH turn from Meacham Rd, when going eastbound on Golf Rd. The actual address is 1705 E Golf Rd., 847.619.4668.

Sounds great!!! I started the bodywork on my CSVT so no comments on how it looks - but then again not sure which CSVT I'll take, if I take #2 I will have to swap plates real quick for my I-PASS so I don't get in trouble (another perk of 2 cars the same color/year)

Everyone meet at my joint and then we shall caravan to the Clock Tower to meet up with Mikey... Only request is that I do not have any backseat passengers in my CSVT as I have not load tested the 18's and prefer not to do it on a long trip.

What time to meet at my house? Mikey - what time you want to meet at the Clock Tower? It will take us about 40-45 minutes to arrive (as long as there are no construction delays)

Everyone hit the bathrooms prior or at my house so we have no unexpected stops.

BTW - Pole buy my carhauler!!!!

Chicago Indoor Racing is the most expensive but coolest go-kart racing around!!! I have been waiting for a meet with you guys but I am gonna be in Minneapolis for the weekend. Have fun guys, post pictures!

Depends on final words from M!key -- is the 1PM at Hooters set in stone? Not entirely sure how long it will take from Rockford to Hooters either for planning.

Once M!key posts final information then we can determine a meeting time at my joint and whatnot.

BTW -- if anyone is interested I have a set of SVT Indiglo gauges that I'd like to sell... picked up a 2nd set when we got the 2nd SVT and decided not to install them. They are brand new, shipping box not even opened yet. They are the Street Racer SVT ones and I have a set installed in my car.. they rule, super bright and look OEM when not lit.

I want whatever I paid on the invoice whenever the purchaser opens the box. I'll deliver at the meet in person.

i might take that set of indiglos. if they are the ones i like. DIBS!

Joe Sweet who owns The Speed Shop? If so, the story is almost true LOL -- My buddy Chris Weber helped me build my Cougar in my garage over a summer who had a Cougar with a 3L in it which Jaged (member here) later purchased. My car was later taken to The Speed Shop to get painted and completely finished because Chris worked there and Joe and Brian painted the car.. Joe is a great guy and does great work -- I'll be taking my CSVT there later to get it painted after I finish the bodywork myself. Cougar needs to go back there soon too to fix some issues.

Go check out the shop now that you live in Rockford... they are right next to the racetrack on Torque Rd.

I called the go-kart place, and they said that short pants are okay -- and even recommended in this weather -- because you have to wear a full driving suit. ...And they don't have A/C in the building. You should probably at least bring closed-toe shoes, although the person I spoke to didn't specify if they were required. Also, she said the races last 8-10 minutes. We can call tomorrow and they can tell us how busy they are and if we should make reservations or not.
