I went and the most 'Contour like' car there was a Mercury Milan, with a 5 speed manual and 2.3 L four cylinder. Also, there were lots of nice ATX Fusions, Milans, MK Z's [Zephers], and Mazda 6's.
The 2.3L has nearly the same HP as the 1995-2000 2.5 V6, so yes, the Milan I saw was as close to a 'Contour V6/MTX replacement' as anything. [Not counting non Ford vehicles]

i dont know if its too late, but usually dealers will give away free tickets, thats how i got mine, 3 from the toyota dealer
