So that means I'm the first to post part of my stereo? Cool, Here is my amp rack behind the rear seats in my 99 SVT. Notice the 6X9 grill, Thats the port for my Fosgate 12 DVC in a bandpass enclosure. Also there is my Sony Mobile ES 8850 deck.

Well, I guess I can throw up a few pics of my stereo (paid for this crap awhile ago, still need $$ for mods on this car....). The first pic is of the amp shelf that holds my 2 Rockford amps (punch 600a4 and punch power 250.2 chrome) and streetwires 1 farad cap. I still need to recarpet it, probably with black carpet, 'cause I can't find any charcoal to match the trunk. The box on top of it is my Infinity Perfect 12.1. Yes, those are angle brackets and drywall screws holding it on, I ran out of time (spent 3 days strait on it) and ended up rigging a lot of things.
The second pic is of my head unit, a Kenwood eXcelon X811 with MASK and all that cool crap on it.
The final pic is of the passenger side tweeter. Those pods are from the 2000 Tarus' w/ Mach sound system. Lots of custom work was required to get them to fit, and I still have to go back and trim them down and use some bondo on them to get them looking factory. My Polk db components fitted perfectly where the factory mach tweeters went, I was amazed by that.

Hey Steve,
I love the side tweeters on your car fom the taurus. I would like to know more about how you fit them and where you got them from.
I have a 96 SE v6. They should fit mine too right?
Cheers for any additional info you can give me

I actually wouldn't recommend using the Taurus' speaker pods, because they are a lot more trouble than they're worth. The only reason why I followed through with the installation of them is because it cost me about $100 for the pair (25 each for the sail panels, 25 each for the grills). It involved much cutting and sanding with my dremel, including cutting off the 1" flange piece that the taurus uses on the bottom of the pod. The window defrost ducts had to be modified for proper fit too, which involved carving out a 1x2" section of the duct and using fiberglass to rebuild that section of duct about 3/8" shallower than factory. After all that work, I ended up having to use some 1" pieces of steel wire that was run from a screw on the door's a-piller to a screw holding the tweeter in. Once the slack had been pulled out, it stayed secure. The black speaker fabric was added to cover up the shoddy plastic work, and I still need to add some bondo and paint to make the exposed plastic look good. I would recommend finding someone that does good fiberglass/foam work (perhaps someone that has experiece making speaker kick panels) and having them make some custom tweeter pods for the door, or experimenting yourself. Or perhaps just surface mounting them on the existing covers??
