Look like this?

I had to notch out part of the framing to get this thing to fit!

Nope! you could have just got one of mine and then some Doublesided thich foam instead of cutting notches in the rear deck!

Well I mean it works all fine and dandy... interested to see if anyone else notched out.

Deception, what do you mean by "Doublesided thich foam"
doublesided sticky foam tape?
Posted By: J3SVT Re: Does your 10" Rear Deck Woofer... - 05/09/06 06:42 PM
so you mean rather than notching it, overlap over that spot and build up the other side with double sided sticky tape?

ah yes!

There is like this foam crap you can get from home depot and just layer that around the mount to make it air tight.

But honestly it isn't really needed

So its about looks?

Having wires randomly exposed looks Tacky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Expecially some 4 gauge power wire.

Meh, as long as it does its job, I could care less if it was tacky.

here's a good place rawburt...

Q:Where do I run my ground wire to?
A:The ground wire should run to a point on the chassis as close to the amplifier as possible. The bolts holding down the seatbelt anchors are good locations that do not require new holes to be drilled.

I hope you realize you just hacked into a structural member.
Good thing you have the STB.

I seriously doubt that little cut will hurt the car.

That is the main support for the rear section of the car.I'm sure you have seen the hole for the intake tract that runs to the fender, right?Ford decided not to increase the size of that hole because it would effect the rigidity of the front end.Your trying to tell me that chuck is not going to let that section twist more than it did.
Well I never saw the test data from Ford about that hole affecting structural rigidity, but a lotta people make that hole in the fender bigger as well without noticing any adverse affects. I'm sure it affects it to some small degree but by exactly how much? Not enough to do anything equals not enough to matter.

i have that notched on my csvt and im pretty shure my rear end is still in tact and still straight as it was the day i bought the car......

You have a RSTB as well so shut it!

Anyway, im with kremit on this one. That little chunk will not do squat. Go sit in your trunk and stare up, inspect everything, then sit there and think, think for a long time about how it could be possible and impossible for it to effect anything. Unless you cut a solid chunk out of it, and I mean, all the way thru the structuring, that would be the only way

Point taken.
