All those who will be attending please reply to this post so we can get a head count. Also if you are attending, will you have any mods to perform?
I will be there and I have mods to do but it will depend on what car I bring since I think I will be heading to London after the meet now. (got to love having your dentist in a different city)
Aye!!!
As for mods I'm not sure, but something will come up that day.
Maybe wheels?
I will help others though!
Aye, and I'm the main reason, CNG conversion. also installing lower elky grills
I might do my rims too, if they aren't on there by then. They probably will be.
not much else, mines pretty big as it is.
I'll be sleeping over in cambridge the friday night and driving to Robs early sat morning.
I'll see if I am free that day. This is at your place (Rob)?
Sounds like it will start early. I work till 1:00 a.m. Friday night and it takes an hour to get to Robs so I'm guessing I'll have to aim to be there for noon. Either way Breakie on the barbie @ Rob's LOL.
Well....I'm out. I still work on Sat in April
Not a clue what I will do, but do plan on being there.
Erik
I"ll come to heckle
Actually, anyone got a spark plug gapping thing? Seems very dumb of me to ask, but I'm always confused as to how to gap my plugs. Figured I'm going to start pocketing some of the very easy DIY stuff.

Where is it? Brampton? If so, sure I'll be there. I don't think I have any mods planned ... maybe TSS but I doubt it. But I can lend a helping hand.
Rob, I hope you have enough space for everyone
how many toilets do you have?
haha
I get giddy just thinking about the nice and big turn out this is gonna be. I sure hope its a nice day or I'll be pretty pissed.
All we need now is
96 2.5L GL AUTO (Michelle) to say she will be there.
I know she said she would be, cause she needs help.
WOW! That's a few people.
No going to store, guess I have to place an order for meat/chicken from one of my suppliers.
Oh...Rob, you may want to make people aware of the two red furry things that roam your range
They rule. Ilook forward to seeing them again. How is Cheryl feeling about this meet Rob.

Yep it's in Brampton and I am thinking of doing the TSS as well on my 96.

My boys (Irish Setters) won't be in the way, although they will be very excited with all the people around.

Cheryl doesn't mind. We are doing a BBQ with her coworkers in the summer so this is the same for me since I work for myself.

Either that, or the personalized place settings in a matching tartan pattern, complementing his decor in his great room. And that's a good thing

Mark, Cheryl will be home that day so if Jenna want's to come she is welcome. Cheryl has even suggested that she may take Jenna out to do some stuff of their own.

Rob you got a Canadian tire near by incase there is some need for special runs? I would assume yes but just to be sure.
Yep there are 2 relatively close. Approx 5Km.
Cool
Yall ready to attack the "hybrid" car?
I'm kinda nervous that we'll run into problems
its not that I dont have faith, its that my car will prolly be a biznitch to work with. but I really hope to get rid of the stupid hoses and lines that aren't needed
Mark I know you gave Rob the pics, but maybe we should post them for everyone else to look at
Originally posted by SnafuFlux:

Answer to question NO!
Those pics would be cool to see.
From this I can see that we could use a stock air box if anyone would like to donate one and the accordian tube. If we don't have a box we will have to plug the holes somehow.
The pictures don't show the MAF sensor but it may be F'ed up as well. The only other thing that will require our attention is how the CNG gas is mixed into the intake. Is it through the fuel rail?
Originally posted by SVTCANUK:

No,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no.
UM NO!
Good thing I have an EVTM Paper manual for the 96.
That wiring harness looks just nasty! Could take a full day just to figure them out.
Air box could be re-used silver duct tape over the holes. Trust me it works!
Accordian tube looks ok, don't see any extra holes, just plugged up factory ones. Maybe get a metal CTA intake tube just incase.
The MAF might be ok as it looks like the CNG is behind the sensor. The joining of the 2 parts might be the problem though.
Mark I can't remember, but when we had the LIM off to clean it I don't recall CNG on the fuel rail. Could be a T lower down?
The problem I see is would they have flashed the ECU with CNG codes?
If no wires are going to the ECU harness then we should be ok there.
I belive someone still needs a cruise control cable....
I think I have some cable somewhere if anyone knows where to get some splice connectors. As for the air box I'm pretty sure I still have my stocker kicking around. Just need to go hunting for it.
Ok I have a mod to do. How about a head gasket?
I have just finished buggering around with the car trying to source my coolant leak. Well From what I can see it may be coming from the block by the thermostat. Is it possible for a head gasket to let go to the outside of the block vs internally? It may still be a hose but its looking less and less likely by the day for that. It of course is in a bad spot to see what is going on. I need one of those mirrors on a stick or something. I took some pictures but Keith still hasn't shown me how to upload them.
Anyways.......
As for you Keith while I was in the garage I found my old V6 air box and acordian pipe. I also found the pictures that we took last year during the UIM cleaning. This may answer the CNG supply questions.
On the upside to my night (look at the time I just got done farting around with the car.) I removed my old air resonator that was atached to the air intake pipe. I was getting tired of moving it to try to find my coolant leak and or replace hoses.
Mark that sucks!
Keith I think you may want to replace that cruise control cable now.
If you haven't seen SVT ST PETE's clutch pic's look at them.
Cruise cable broke. His broke and pinned open the throtle.
I don't think I'd have the same problem, but yes. maybe since we're working on it I might wanna replace that. I'll go to ford tonight and find out.
Mark, we'll get that done. our hours are screwed, so I'll have to write a detailed how to for you.
Rob I'll try and call Coreys today to see if they have a 99 tan dash in stock.
98 dash. Not 99 Keith. Also Rob is going to double check but if I'm not mistaken all dashes are interchangeable. Since he has both cars.....
I give up the car is going into Ford tomorrow to have them source the problem. Wish me luck. I really hope it is not a Head Gasket.
So were at 12 people with the ladies?
Just have to check as I need to order the chicken breasts from my supplier in a few days....
Don't worry I will get extra.
These will be my contribution to the Que! So no one needs to bring Chicken!
I know it's BYOM, but I'll get the poultry.
If I can't make it, someone better pick them up from me......
So far so good though.
Yes Jenna is coming. Lets get a list togeher of what people are bringing. For the record Jenna and I will be on the good ole Atkins kick at that point but meat is good. Maybe some bring dessert and others snacks and what not. What do you think Rob?
Sounds good guys. I'll bring the garage tools and experience
, along wiht my house and BBQ. What does everyone like to drink? I will supply beverages.

Actually since I can't really provide much, I was thinking I could do the bevies (non alcho).. or if not bevies what should I bring?
Ok. Then what else is needed?
Also, anyone ever done a SVT motor mount on a 95? Big job?
Erik

Your car . Bring some snack foods guy.
alrighty like which? donuts, chips... provide input and I'll gather.
I'm partial to Doritos myself
As for Alcohol. Perhaps we should make sure that Rob and Cheryl want to allow drinking at this event. Also bearing in mind we are all odviously driving there. Snacks though I would say cheese and crackers chips I'm thinking about bringing stuff for taco salad actually.
I won't be drinking.
I ahve to drive home. not happening
I'd prefer no drinking. I always have beer on hand but I don't want excessive drinking. I myself do not endulge in such practices
.
Good thing I asked I had to order today!
Keith - baby carrots, celery, broccoli, etc....
for a veggie tray. veggies are inexpensive and yummy!
Diet coke for me, also I might bring a couple of beers (Guinness for me) just incase I want 1 or 2, but no more than that.
Don't worry Rob I can handle it and I know what you mean, I'm a pub manager!
Hey I'm a Mick so when I drink it's Guinness all the way. Guinness = Yummy.
BTW, what time is this all gonna start?
Whenever Keith arrives
. I would aim for 12:00 to 1:00.
yah word. das a good time
Time is good.
Now all we need are directions.
My address is 55 Whiteface Crescent, Brampton. From 401/403 head north on Mavis to Brampton. At Steels Ave. Mavis becomes Chinguacousy Rd. Continue north and you will pass over 2 sets of rail tracks. Just past the second set is an intersection (Williams Pky.) where you will turn left. Follow this road to the stop sign and turn left (Marotta) again. Another quick left (Whiteface) and I am #55 on the right side.
Map
This is a map of my neighbourhood. If anyone is comming from another direction I will provide them with directions. Just let me know.
K. Mind sending me your postal code so I can through it at map quest. Yes Richard I still prefer it.

It's easy Keith. From the 401 one street brings you right up to my neighbourhood. It's approximately 10KM from the 401. I will pace it and give accurate distances later this week.

I was thinking of changing my filter, but seeing how I blew open the bottom of my stock air box I don't need to.

Guys, bring both your good and bad side skirts. Erik has the first choice but if the bad ones aren't too bad, I'd be interested in those.
Well if there is room I might drop by..
Is there room? and does anybody know how to fix sub/amp fukups?
Martin
Yeah I know how to fix up amp and sub issues. Just bring an assortment of screw drivers and electrical tape.
between the two of us we should figure it out
I like autio troubleshooting too. I'll bring a multi-meter.
I am going to pace off the distance from the 401 to my neighbourhood and post it later tonight. This should make finding it a little easier.
Guys...would it be OK if I stop by for a bit with my SVT and 2-year-old son? My wife is working all weekend, and the 2 of us are looking for some fun activities. Won't be doing any mods, but just wanted to see some old faces, meet some new ones and see some talented wrenches at work.
Please stop by.

Hey...if you're also free on Sunday, SVTOA-Toronto is having our Annual General Meeting at Dixie Ford at 2:30pm. You can see Queen of the High Mileage CSVT there (lauraq), and a few of us. There are some really neato prizes lined up...

Groovy, Daddy-O.
Keith I just found the natural gas stuff on my repair CD.
Printing it and it's 9 pages.
got the electrical schematic, fuel system diagram, fuel rail diagram, etc......
Got lucky was looking for something else and bam there it was.......
Nice find Jeff. I'm sure that will eliminate some second guessing tomorrow. WTG.
OK everyone, it is 10Km from the 401 to where you will need to make the left hand turn into my sub-division. Just remember pass over the tracks and take the first left. The rest is easy.

As for it being easy...let's see those words used at 4pm tomorrow
Richard you have been here twice before. Hold up the torch and lead the way.
I'll be up a little later this morning. I have to help someone install some wheels on their car this morning.
Well I shold be there around 12. I'm up already not that I ever really got to bed.
Ha ha. Thunder and lightning here right now. Hope no one was expecting my car to be clean.

BTW it wasn't raining then.
Oh I might arrive a little before noon. I'd rather be on time then late....LOL
Something tells me we'll need all the time we can get. Does anyone have a Haynes or Chilton Manual btw? I can't find mine.
Figure we might need it. I mean if we find a part in Keith's car and it is not in the manual it comes out right?
you guys are starting to scare me... I dunno whats going on. All I know is Richard is gonna be here for 11 oclock, and we're headin over. I still need to get the veg tray

I've got my Haynes, Service CD and my EVTM manuals in tow.
Well I think today was a great success. Thank you all for coming out today. Cheryl and I had a great time. Sorry I didn't have enough time to socialize with everyone. I got pretty caught up in ripping out the NG kit but it was all worth it. Thanks again guys.
Rob & Cheryl (Orion & Soulin)
Thanks Rob and Cheryl for being awesome hosts!
I wish I could have stayed longer, but it was great at least meeting you guys and putting faces to the names.
And thanks for the ride, Mark. Was the highlight!
Erik
Thanks Rob and Cheryl (for puting up with us...)
Yup fun pulling out the CNG and holy scrap pile batman!
Nice meeting everyone and hope we'll do another one soon!
Hey Keith did you make a wrong turn?
Some pics here!
I had a great time today, good to see some old faces, and new too (Erik).
[Grammy Award Speech]
Thanks to Rob and Cheryl for the use of their home and hosting the meet, thanks to Jeff for cooking up a storm, thanks to Mark (and Jenna) for letting me drive their SE, miss mine very much.
Thanks to Vito for bringing me to the meet, and to Aaron for giving me a ride home.
Thanks to Richard for taking lots of pictures, and thanks to Chris, Martin and Keith. Did I miss anyone?
Hey, I should say thanks to Wesley too, for a very entertaining horn on his Contour.
Thanks all. Jenna and I had a great time too. Sadly Keith got a CEL not 300 meters out of the subdivision. I'll let him ramble on about that though. Glad we did this and hope we do it again very soon.
yup I've said thanks like a million times already so I don't need to go into specifics. Thanks all to how helped and just showed up. I really owe everyone. The drive to oshawa was a spirited one, but alas I do have a CEL again. I'm at a loss, and have no idea what it is (is that a surprise?)...
anyways thanks all, and have a good sleep, cuz I konw I will.
oh yah I want all pics
Thanks go out to everyone for coming out to the meet. It was great seeing some new and familiar faces.
Special thanks go to Cheryl & Rob (Mrs & Mr SVTCANUK) for allowing us to turn their garage upside down. I'm sure that VW Golf buddy boy has will STILL be cruising up and down staring at us again
Hope you enjoy the fine beverages we all left for you.
Special thanks to Jeff (chongo) for cookin' up a storm. Additional thanks go to Jenna & Cheryl for gettin' everything set up.
I'll get my pictures posted very soon. I'll be sleeping well after tomorrow's SVTOA meeting (which I hope to see a few folks from today out there).
PS> Car runs great with new plugs. Gas mileage seemed to go up a notch tonight goin' home.

Cool By the way any grey pre 98 console will do what you are looking for. Only thingto watch out for is the very early 95's. That were a different design. (Maybe from the Mondeo?) they will have a drawer that covers the cig lighter as well as the ash tray.

A drawer? What kind of drawer is that?
It is a spring loaded drawer just like the one on our ash tray. As a matter of fact it reall is just an extension of the ash try drawer.
Ok.
Sounds cool. Haven't seen one like that. Should take a look in my 95 Brochure. Wonder if it is in there.
Man I wish you had brought that brouchure yesterday. I've been wanting to see one but am to cheap to fork out the dough to buy one on E-bay.
Crap. Wish I would have known.
Whens the next meet anyhow. I can drag it along there. Or let me know if you are passing thru T.O. I will tooss it your way.
Speaking of ebay, bought a 95 ford service manual from a guy in the states for only 10 bux US. Got killed on shipping, cause it is a big, heavy bugger. Can't wait to have a look at that and REALLY scare myself when I see how complicated these cars are....

Call me weird, but I have both the 1995 Contour and 1995 Mystique brochures
It really was a fun time. And I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say thanks to Keith for putting your trust in everyone.

Sweet!!!!!
Had a party come in tonight with a major problem. Seems they spent $125 on a b-day cake,
but the baker decided to ice the cake while it was warm.
Can you say load shift.
Needless to say the first thing my staff did was call me. One hour later the ladies thought I'd performed a miracle.
Glad you all liked the food, those that missed it to bad cause I'm retiring......
