A US standard vehicle price I've seen for a 2000 is $22,810 excluding the destination and delivery charge.

new the car would've been about 28,880 + tax, frieght, PDI so sticker would've been anywhere from $25,600 to $29,995 depending on options (sunroof, heated seats, etc.)

Aside from small items such as the spoiler, didn't the SVT come with all important Contour extras?

For '98 E0's the moonroof and CD player were the only options.

For the E1's and '99s the moonroof and cd player were no-charge options. Spoiler wasn't a factory installed option untill 2000 and thus only available in the US.

I also remember reading an article about how a fully loaded Mystique was priced slightly higher than the SVT was, so around $28,000 sounds about right.
