Drove up to Tobermory this weekend. Managed to get 585km out of the tank before the fuel light came on. That's driving at a speed of no more than 110km/h. I think with the mileage on my car, that's pretty good. Wondering what everybody else are getting?

@ over 300 thousand kms I'd say that is still pretty good. Been a while since I last did a long trip in the Contour but it was usually about that point when I needed to fill up. Mine runs very rich though and I tend not to be able to keep the speed down that far for too long.

Apparently, the only thing us pre-98's didn't get.

534kms before light came on..
and since it always comes on early I might go 600 before I probably really need to fill up :P

keep in mind this is 90% highway at 95-100 km/hr coming to/from Port Elgin

hope the car lasts for a couple more years

and your unhappy with that

I get 280km - 320km 80% City(short trips)/20% Hwy
has been like that since I bought the car back in '99.
I will be dealing with the injectors soon, me thinks they might be leaking.

i get like 550-600 in the summer

500-550 in the winter.

thats with about an 85% highway 15% in town ride.

Most I ever got was from home to kingston...720 kms.

Oh I See, it's becuase your not getting a chance to burn some fuel on high spirited drives....
That makes more sense.

To give you an idea how much I cry ... 100% highway usually gets me 430km
Posted By: loggerbomb Re: FUEL ECONOMY - 05/25/06 12:10 AM
i geuss you never did find out what was causing that??? - OUCH!
Posted By: SVTFern_dup1 Re: FUEL ECONOMY - 05/25/06 12:57 AM
How about this for a fuel economy number...... 140KMs on about 50 litres of gas.............while driving on a race track outside of Chicago this past weekend. That comes out to about 35 litres / 100 km

It is amazing what driving at full throttle for about 90% of the time will do to fuel economy!!!

Even though i went through a tank of gas in about four sessions it is always a blast letting this car let it all hang out on the track and hunt down unsuspecting drivers in Cobras.

Just thought i would share

note 100% sure how much I get, but I usually get 600+ in highway driving. Drove from Brampton to Ottawa, left on a full tank and got there with about under 1/4 left. Filled up before coming home and got back with 1/2 tank left...
everyday usually gets me 500+

I've got 675km on a tank but that was with the light on... i didn't want to push it anymore.

That was also in the US going about 60-65 on the interstate. It must be american gas cause i never get that in Canada.

656 is my best to date on 51L of fuel.

When I was going from toronto to Owen Sound and back I would easily get over 500kms a tank, pure city and spirted driving I've squeezed just over 400kms, and she just rolled over 200K kms!

My BEST EVER was 475.....

I have done 600 km.

The needle was incredibly low, and I was scared.

We'll see how it goes after all this work.

Oh you all have such GOOD numbers...

I get about 300k's combined driving without being too heavy on the gas.
I'm lucky to see 400K's to the tank with highway driving...

Look out Steeda... here i come. It's time to tune!
