Welcome to the protege family. Seems a lot of tour owners have gone to the protege, don't know why. Congrats on the MSP btw pretty nice car!

Protege club and Club Protege both have Twin Cities forums (I don't remember if you're from the area or not) mazdamp3 has a lot more info on the MP3 and MSP. All the forums are pretty good.

i realize that, but this car was made from ~95% Japanese parts...so it might be ford on paper, but I already feel the saki flowing through my veins...jk!

Anyway, this is my first non domestic ever, so it is new either way...

My dad's girlfriend is on her second Protege, a 2000 ES 2.0, so I'm in with them too.

The protege is acutally 99.999% japanese. I think the seat belt tensioners are ford. However the new Mazda3 is going to be based on the new focus coming out.
MSP is a damn nice car, just about as fast as the SVT and handles maybe as well if not better.
Mind you the SVT is a damn nice car too!
