Hey All, just have to vent for a sec. I go to school at UW-L and live in a part of town that is inhabited primarily by students. So last night I couldnt find a spot in our apt.'s lot and had to park on the street. I went out to my car this morning to find that whoever parked behind me had smashed my rear tail lights!! Who does that? Thank God they somehow managed to only get my tail lights and not my bumper! People like that deserve an in-operable tumor at the base of their spine.
So does anyone know where I can pick up some new tail lights? I need to find some fast since I cant afford to drive around with busted tail lights and really dark windows, that would be asking for trouble...
thanks

ebay, man 40 bucks less than that. That so sucks to hear. how the hell did they hit your freaking light? thats talnet. must be truck maybe? with plow? Also you should get a car alarm with a paging system, so the next time that happens, you can run out there, scream and complain.

Dude that sucks balls! Sorry to hear about your insident! I always end up parking one of my tours on the street and pray no one jacks them up!

See what car-part.com has to offer. Here is one ad for a right side light:

Both of these are in Fridley and are the cheapest posted price on the site. Give them a call and see if they'll cut you a deal for the pair.

May be spendy but try calling Steve at signature ford and see what they can get you one for.

Is the center reflector broke as well? hopefully not, they can be expensive.

heres one off the site, not too badly priced either:

Should be able to get it all wrapped up for around $100 or less. For now I would suggest going to autozone and getting some red taillight tape to cover them up and protect the electrical. Also make sure you get lights for a 98+ becaue the older ones have chrome on them or dont line up with the reflector properly. If you wanted to do a pre98 deck lid this would probably be the best time but I personally dont care for them. It sucks that it had to happen around finals and the holidays. Let me know if you need any help! catch you later- Doug

some current ebay listings are here!

Thanks a ton Doug! I owe you again. I think I'm gonna call that Abco place and see if I can get a pair. The passenger side light is the worst, the entire bottom corner of it is broken off, the driver side light just has a small crack on the bottom. I really dont get how it happened because the entire center light is fine, and that part sticks out the farthest...I'm just very thankful they didnt mess up the rear bumper, that would have been spendy...
HOw are your 'tours running? Is the SVT still acting up?

No problem, hope you can find a set for cheap! That is really strange that your center is not messed up at all. It almost sounds intentional.....

Anyway the tour's are good. I just slapped the winter wheels back on the Se so no more twisties for me. Man is it a difference from the 17's. The SVT has been great, havent had any problems since the first week I owned it and seems to have worked itself out! When are your finals? Mine are the week after next and then I grad that Friday! If we get another nice day we should go for a cruise!

What happened the first week? Just curious... and if it was something I didn't mention... I swear I didn't know about it.

LOL! No worries! I was referring to the starting problems where it would and wouldn't start speratically and we would have to push start it! I think it was mad that you bought a new car and were letting it sit! Since then I have only had to push-start it once, last week when the battery finally died. Maybe that was part of the reason it was needing to be push started or something. I ended up buying a new starter but havent put it in yet as I havent had a need to.....

BTW- I have the switch that will fix the hvac, new power antenna, all new high performance brakes,MSDS headers and a updated svt tranny with all the goodies from T.H. including a Torsen LSD waiting to be put in the car whenever I have enough time! The only other problem I have is that it wont play or eject my CD's but I dont care. I plan on replacing the head unit and adding an amp!

Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to throw the snow tires on as I didnt have time to do both cars on Saturday!

The car is in good hands and is being spoiled!

If you still have that chip I would like to buy it from you sometime as I am going to hold off on a 3L until this engine decides its had enough, but for all we know that could be a very long time!

Sadly I'm thinkin that cruise might have to wait a couple months with the all this white stuff on the ground...
How does your graduation work, as I have another friend graduating and might swing up for it?
Be careful driving in this slushy crap, its tricky!

Yeah no kidding, it was too good to last! I think its going to be all down hill from here on as far as weathr is concerned. Anyway i'm not exactly sure how the graduation is setup sadly, hopefully ill know more the closer we get to it. All I know is that it is on the 17th.

The battery died? That battery is still under warranty, and the slip is in your records. I only replaced that less than 2 years ago.

I am also confused by the head unit, as it worked perfectly for me... are they burns or regulars? (I never burned any CD's). Maybe it just did wear out... I had that put in pretty quick after buying the car.

Ross may have been mad at Brad... but seriously, until August, Ross was getting almost all the miles... including a recent road trip to Chicago.

What brakes are you going with... just curious...

Chip is still available... let me know... I also found the stock airbox, if you wanted that for either car...

I'm not mechanical like that... so I would have been eaten alive on labor charges (and still needing a car to drive)... which is why it just wasn't practical for me... I'm glad to hear Ross found a good home.

Intersting. Well I still have the battery and I could possibly see if they will replace it under warranty and then try and sell the other one.

I got the brake kit that Stazi sells. It was like $275 for the pads and rotors. The pads are Bendix Titaniums but I cant remember what the rotors are. I know that they are not cross drilled or slotted and are suposed to be of very high quality. Apparently everyone that has ordered them are very happy with their performance.

The CD that I put in the head unit was a burned CD as I didnt want to risk loosing a good one if it decided to eat the CD's. I wonder if there is something that isnt hooked up or something. All it reads is Error and sounds like it trying to spit it out but never does....

I definitely would like the airbox and the chip but would it be alright if I could get that from you after the holidays?

The receipt is a yellow slip from Lakeland Motors... Eagle River, WI. I'm off a year... it's 2 1/2 years old... but that should still count for something. I have it on my CC statement as 4-20-2002. It's a Motorcraft Silver Series... not the run of the mill ones. If they insist on it going back to the original dealer... I can help with that if need be.

Just baffled by the CD player... but could just be old... and maybe got a jolt when I disconnected things. who knows?

After the holidays is fine... I'm out of town two of the coming three weeks... so no problems.

Hey thanks again for finding that place in Fridley for the taillight. I ordered one and after shipping it was only $30. I tried a local parts place and they wanted $60 for it! Anyways, thanks.

Autospecialty rotors, IIRC.
