well, it's pretty obvious why I'm asking. My tranny went out the other night, I lost 2nd completely and it clicks through all the other gears...

I was wondering if any one knows of or has dealt with any good tranny shops here in the valley...kinda looking to price things out right now...

I would really like to do this myself but space in my garage really isn't that adequate for dropping the subframe and supporting the engine w/a cherry picker.
has anyone local ever done a tran. swap on 'tour that would be willing to help out??????$$$$/BEER.....

You don't need to remove the engine completely if you are just doing the trans and you have a lift. I'd suggest Keith at Arizona Dyno Chip in Chandler. No one in the valley knows that car better. 480.496.8800.

What ever you do, make sure you stay away from Phillips Transmissions (formerly Thrifty Transmissions). They messed up my car, both of my brothers cars, and one of my brother's shops clients cars.

I didn't even think about Keith... as an afterthought, I wish I did. I'm sure they won't neglectfully trash cars. Since I was quoted $2000-3000 just in labor to do an engine swap, I'm not sure how affordable a tranny pull/work would be though.

ADOLPHS TRANSMITION REPIAR!

They've been in the phoenix area for around 40 years I do belive and do quality work.

Kaines automotive does good work too.
I called Keith at ADC today and he quoted me a pretty good price, so I think that I'll be bringin my car down to Chandler to have them work on it, plus you're right there is prob. nobody around that knows the car better.

Now I just gotta wait for the new tranny to get here from SP Motorsports....
