I can't believe it, I leave for a year or three and Derek moves to Utah and buys a Scion! What happened? Just dropping in to say hi and see if anyone is left I know. I saw Horse and Derek, how you guys been? I guess I'm officially a troll now. I've been recruited by Zee Germans and no longer have my 'tour.

Peace,

Brad
I think we are all trolls now

not me and Daymon...although..I don't think I count.

Im planning on driving the Cougar.
Oooooohhh
Scrappy is a liar.I thought you hadn't been on here in year or two and your acount was deactivated.tisk tisk
Been a troll for a while. Had a Lincoln LS8, tt SC300, now a GS300 that I am soon to swap to tt. Good to see you Brad.
You can visit an internet forum for a car you no longer own,but you can't call your family just to say "hi".Glad to see your still alive though.

BTW:speaking of the germans how is the audi?you need to visit OK again Sam's S4 is friggin'sick.
Good to see you, Brad.
Yup, I've had a Scion for a little over a year now. It's been a fun, spacious, and slow replacement.

I sold the SVT back in Jan '04 to a guy in Tooele. I've seen it twice since then, which is kinda neat. I miss the power and handling, but I don't regret selling it. After the master cylinder, fuel pump, front sway bar links, and the f*ckin' shifter broke in a 3 month period, I just couldn't trust the car any more.

You still drivin' the Audi, Brad?
Yeah yeah, I honestly thought accounts got shut off after so long of inactivity. BTW bro my phone number hasn't changed...

Its good to see everyone still around, we're quite a collection of trolls here I guess.

So Derek has the Scion
Horse has what a volvo?
Jons driving the cougar
and
Keyser has a GS300
of course my bro still hasn't seen 'the light' but between me and my buddy sam we'll get him an Audi before long!

As for me I had a 1990 Audi 200 after the 'tour and currently have a 1999 A6 Avant. That will likely being going away soon as well. Is anyone else still left? Alex, Miks, ??
You're the one that moved, you're supposed to keep in touch.

I don't know if you all will get me into an audi, but the next car I buy will definetly be german.I'd love to have the AWD goodness, but I think I'd rather go the likes of RWD,I'm sick of understeer.I need to learn how to handle a RWD car anyway.Brad send me your email address,I need to send you pictures after I get my new headlights on.
You'll just need to find one of the S-line cars, their Quattro is typically RWD biased, 60% Rear/40% Front If I remember. Hell, even my car seems to be rear biased after driving in the snow this season. I can bring the rear end around without much effort. My email is brad@ricochet.comif anyone else wants it feel free to drop me line. Speaking of which, are there any meets coming up? The Denver auto show is the weekend after next if anyone wants to go. march 29 - april 2
They are still going to push at the limits.Honestly,I can't afford the S-line,and even if I could the lightest S car Is the first gen S4 at 3600lbs ,I think my 3200lb tour' feels like a pig sometimes,I don't want something quite so heavy.I'm only 20,I'm not ready to give up the sport for the comfort.
IIRC, the xB weighs in at a whopping 2200lbs. Combine that with a ground shredding 105 ft. lbs. of torque and you've got yourself a beast!

I love my car, though. I really do. I hope to keep it around for a long time as a commuter/utility vehicle.
LOL at Derek, that is quite a beast, be careful. That has to be a good car if you're carrying cargo very often. You still bike a lot right?

Bro, I know what you mean, oddly enough the '00 and '01 S4(B4 Chassis) like sams are lighter than the original body. Their still a 'shade' heavier than your 'tour though. So, lightweight, rear wheel drive, uncomfortable...you're getting what...a fox body mustang!? Egads!! I might have to start refering to you has my stepbrother!

your troll is better than mine
Brad - it's great for cargo. Camping, the bikes, Costco... My dog especially loves when the back seats are down. The interior room is impressive, and the back seat leg room puts the contour to shame. Overall, it's a well rounded, practical vehicle. Just what I need. As soon as I graduate, I think I'll upgrade my road bike (it has well over 5K on it), and start looking for a fun car. WRX? Forrester XT? Miata to supercharge?

But it can haul so many boxes!! It'd be great to cart around an extra contour drive train for when the engine starves itself of oil or the tranny synchros give up!! Its what we needed all along!

Wait wait, Derek, I just realized you said your bike has $5000 in it, not $500! Are you insane? Maybe you should invest some more in a good helmet...you've obviously hit your head a few too many times.
Derek you better be careful posting those stats on here, you are gonna have people wanting to race you. That machine is awsome, me and my dad went looking at the tC's yesterday and when I graduate I think I will be getting one of those assuming I don't get a motorcycle and keep the honda.

Dang Brad it's good to see you back, as your request for Alex I haven't seen him post on here in a long time. Haven't talked to Chad in over a year, still in Cali and boosting the shiat out of his SRT-4.
I thought he was saying 5k miles...not $$$

So did I.
Yeah, 5,000+ miles. I don't have that kinda cash, plus I can build myself a super sweet bike for $2,000. Nothing more than that is necessary...it's just the "look what I have" factor beyond that.
It is funny that I am not the only one to go the Audi route. Keyser was looking for one but had already bought the LS8 when his dealer contacted him on an S4. He gave them my phone number and the car sold itself. So, I gave up a Contour (with $45K in) for pennies on the dollar and now I drive an S4. Thanks again Keyser!

I guess you're right, all I need to do now is grow a mullet, cut the sleeves off all of my shirts, and start beating my girlfriend huh. Sorry brother, I'm not going to drive anything with pushrods and a scorching 6000RPM redline.I'm thinking E36 M3,or MB c230,something along those lines.
dont get the C230 if you like to move - I think derek would have your hide in a drag race
Thanks for the advice.I guess most lower end MB's are kinda dogs huh?Looks like I'll have to go the way of an older bimmer.

I stand corrected, I figured you had more sense than that but knew it possible to sink that kind of cash on a bike.

I'd have to agree with Horse on that one. Its not so much that the Benz is slow its just the gearing of the tranny and the weight of the car that make it feel that way. The motors are really very nice and very smooth but unless you get something AMG modded out with Renntech gear its going to feel.....'pigish'.. The BMW would be much closer to the sportiness you're looking for.

wrongo
you can get even the bigger V6 and feel good about it - its just a good case of small engine lugging around big car, just like a 323 BMW.
The only real issue with the bimmer is parts are so damn expensive. They make the parts for your audi look reasonable.Go to turner motorsports website and you'll understand. But I will eventually need a winter beater, then I'll need an audi,so it's just a matter of time.
Are speaking to aftermarket parts or OEM? Because everything on Turner in the way of e36 aftermarket gear is in line with comparable parts for b5/c5 audis...oddly enough, cheaper in some areas. Just curious. And getting an old Audi is the way to go when it comes to winter beaters! Their older gen Quattro had a lockable rear diff. for getting started in very slick conditions. So they claim anyway, I only used it a couple of times myself.
stock and aftermarket.I'm putting on my new headlights tonight I think they'll look pretty cool.I'll send you a pic when i get them on.
While many Audis look really good, their performance numbers never excite me.
Yeah the repair bill doesn't excite you either when you see that!!!
Thats why you do the work yourself! Thats half the fun of owning a car...I think.
