Contour Enthusiasts Group Archives
Hey everyone, I really would like to setup a meet in Grand Junction. Kingpin is graduating this year and would be the last time he would be able to get together with all of us. April or May would probley be best, there is a dyno and some good twisty mountain roads close to there. It would be the bigest FI SVT meet ever Lets try guys, enough talking, lets start planing. -B.

I pick Vac at work in the next few weeks, would like to schedule some time off for this.
I will have to look at my school schedule soon and see if I can find a good weekend. I would love to get together with the UT guys before I go, whether they show up in a Contour or not. Hey, GJ has a cool go kart track if nothing else!

Off topic, FL weather in the winter months is amazing. Break has been great, but Im ready to get back to CO and get kicking in my last couple months. Heck, I think Ill have some nice subframe connectors waiting for me when I return
Why wouldn't you show up in a Contour???
Not me, you! Or Pinebox, Horse, etc.
I'm totally down for a trip to Colorado! I'll have my SVT pretty much buttoned up with time to spare for something like that!
I am not there yet
April or May is a lot of time. I thought we should start planing now. A weekend would be awesome. Meet up Friday night and hang. Dyno or canyon run on Saturday and maybe go-karting that night. Sunday breakfast, and then part ways. Would be awesome.
Derk get some wheels on the box, 17's look huge on those things. . . How is interning going by the way ?

Start looking at calenders and lets pick a weekend. -B.
Wheels...

A couple weeks ago I was driving north on Hwy 1 - on my way home from a long day of clinic. It's raining cats and dogs. As I round a blind corner I see a football sized rock in the road. I think "I can't clear it. " and then "No oncoming traffic...SWERVE!"

I still nailed the rock. Fortunately, I bent the bejesus out of my wheel and lost the lame ass hubcap. Oh wait...that part sucked. The fortunate part (and amazing part) was that the tire didn't go flat for about 13 miles. I was amazed that I didn't blow the tire out. By the time I started feeling a little shimmy (knowing damn well my tire was going flat), I was off of the 2 lane, curvy, rain-soaked highway on a cliff and had plenty of time to pull over on a nice flat and relatively dry parking lot.

A local Scion guy gave be a steelie + tire. I found a matching hubcap on ebay for 9.99.

I would have used it for the perfect opportunity to get some new wheels, but I just don't have the cash. Don't think for one moment that I'm keeping these steelies on when I get a job.

Oh, my rotation here in Big Sur is going great, btw.
get a hold of some suby wheels for me and I'll you have my 18in for 350.
Well, I'll certainly keep this UT/CO meet in mind. It'd be fun hangin' out with you guys again. I'd have to take a ride with somebody for the canyon run - aint no way I'm playing kaboose with the xB. I just don't know my April/May schedule right now. I was supposed to do an ER rotation in Denver, but I'm trying to get something in SLC instead.

suby = five bolt. scion = 4 bolt. Sorry I can't help you out w/ other suby owners, Taylor.
crap...figures.

Well Hoepfully I can get my SVT done before the meet.
Wow, if you had aftermarket wheels..... you would have been in a lot of danger changing what would have been a flat for sure, at that location!

Chalk one up for the steelies!
Xb tip over easy too, good driving Derk. I was surprised when I saw one get hit in an intersection, that freakin car rolled like a dice cube ! (rolled 1 1/2 times) BUT the people got out without a scratch. The 70's Cadilac had a dent ! Glad your ok, freakin rocks suck.
You come to Denver Derk, we will have that thing pimped out in a jiffy. lol -B.
I was looking at Mapquest.
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?searchtype=address&country=US&addtohistory=&searchtab=home&formtype=address&popflag=0&latlongtype=&latitude=&longitude=&name=&phone=&cat=&address=&city=Grand+Junction&state=co&zipcode=

Dont know if that link works or not. Anyway, go to mapquest and put in Grand Juction CO, then pan east into the mountains. Highway 65 from I70 to Delta, now that looks like a fun road. This would be the Saturday morning run, what you think ? I could check it out a few weeks before the run. -B.
Looks like it'd be a fun drive, nice-n-twisty If you could check it out before hand, that'd be even better.

Once some of the other guys let us all know when would be good for them (I have the luxury of setting my own schedule, for the most part atleast...) we should be able to set things into stone
Hey all! I say heck yes! I would rather hit up the meet in May as a pose to April. April is going to be a busy month for me with a few Marine appointments, and my 21st. May should be toned down, and I'll be finishing up the semester. I'm sure I could swing swapping some shifts and make the date, just keep throwing dates out there and let's see if we can find something that works. Although I don't know about the SVT, as it is doing some type of weird pop on left hand turns, and I'm sure this fix is going to be neither pretty or cheap, so we'll see when the time comes.
Plato . . . Out from the dead. Welcome !
May or late April work for me. We do need to get crackin on this date. Friday-Sunday on what weekend ?

DATE
April 28-30
May 5-7
May 12-14
May 19-21

These four weekends are available at work. Lets start the voting. -B.

Plato - my car had a left hand turn pop that turned out to be rusted-through front swaybar links. They were relatively cheap to replace (labor was a killer). It's a place to start lookin'.

Randy - I'm not going to vote, sorry. My schedule is way too up in the air right now, so it's pointless for me to vote. I'll plan on making it if I can.
Posted By: KingpinSVT Re: CO UT meet - 01/12/06 05:56 AM
I know for sure that they later in May it gets, the worse my chances of going become. ----->Graduation

This is my party, right? LOL

In any case, April would be better for me. But max attendance should be the goal so whatever works for everyone!
Posted By: PlatoSVT Re: CO UT meet - 01/13/06 05:07 AM
Derek, thanks for the suggestion. I'll take a good long look at it in the morning. On the other hand, if everyone wouldn't mind taking a quick readover on my post in the Troubleshooting forums. The problem just got a lot worse, real quick. Anybody know of a good shop I can trust up here? This is sounding like something I can't even tackle, especially without a garage and a good set of tools.
Im up for getting together with everyone. I havent been in GJ since `98 (followed the Power Tour for a little while). I damn well better have the Cougar on the road by then so I could show up in that. Either that or the hawtness of the wagon.

Originally posted by Derk-xB:

If I brought the wagon I might actually give Derk some competition in the twisties. Soft, squishy, non-R suspension sucks at any kind of speed when a corner is added.

Thought I was going to tip over in Morgan canyon when I went on a Evanston porn/beer run in December. Whats worse is the Contour has gone through that exact same canyon about 15 mph faster....still accelerating.
The ol' Box actually handles pretty well. (Not SVT territory, don't get me wrong) The 185/60/15 tires are pretty lame-o, though. I sure could use some 205mm tires...
So, it's really not the handling, it's the power.
Ok, so May 5-7. Sounds like a great weekend for me. Lets start the planning. What else do you guys want to do in GJ. -B.
Posted By: stilov Re: From the DEAD CO UT meet VOTE NOW ! - 01/23/06 03:51 AM
hopefully I am still in this neck of the woods. If all goes well...my car will be running in just weeks now...no more months!!!
Yeah, that thing is going to be a beast when its done. I hope you can make it, come on UT guys. -B.
Posted By: Swazo Re: From the DEAD CO UT meet VOTE NOW ! - 01/29/06 02:42 AM
I'm in for sure now, *knocks on wood* my SVT is coming together so well that I am really looking forward to getting to take the drive out to GJ. I would like to hit Moab on the way back

Who's coming down? There have been some quiet folk in deez parts as of late
Posted By: KingpinSVT Re: From the DEAD CO UT meet VOTE NOW ! - 01/29/06 03:27 AM
Im heading out of the house right now, but I will have to check my schedule tomorrow.

On another SW related story, Im spending spring break in Havasu! Yay!

And on another note, Im about to be Colorado's finest corner carver (yeah thats right Randy!). Full Koni kit should be on order soon, along with me finally installing my subframe connectors. No body roll here!

If you can, don't gas up in Needles! That is a hell hole for gas price gouging!

Koni's or Blistiens are going on before I come down so that I can install my H&R's. I'm also getting the subframe connectors from Steve
Posted By: stilov Re: From the DEAD CO UT meet VOTE NOW ! - 01/29/06 04:00 AM
Well I out handled a VERY nicely equipped Focus around a 270 degree on ramp with my meesly ST200 struts and cut (YES CUT!!!) stock springs.

Ask Horse...it was pretty sweet.
The Cougar is coming along nicely so it looks like I should be good for this. By about mid-next week all I need is forward lamps, bumper cover and a few small pieces. Still need to get the radiator support pulled though.
Oh its on like Donkey Kong Kingpin ! You might be able to take a corner a weeeeeeeeee bit better then my set-up, but I will pull in the Straightway, like I should, and leave you in my oil dust ! This will be a great time, I will start working on getting things setup in GJ. Anyone want to dyno ? or save money and canyon carve ? Give me some input. Thanks -B.

I will work on hotels when the date gets closer. Or, if you want to set something up yourself, just let me know.
Posted By: PlatoSVT Re: From the DEAD CO UT meet VOTE NOW ! - 01/31/06 12:18 AM
I know I wouldn't hit the dyno. My car's barely running! I'm just trying to get some miles out of it before I get out of college, then it's time for some fun with it... But I'd definitely be up for canyon carving, provided that the car is still running and with me! The SVT's in the shop hopefully getting a working differential put in as we speak. I'll let you know if it's good to go or not tomorrow night *crosses fingers* .

Ill try to catch up next turn if I can see through the smoke

I will most likely skip the dyno if Im in attendance. Ill be doing enough of that well before this happens so Ill be dyno broke, if you know what Im saying.

well I dropped off my headers/crossover/up pipe at my uncles to finish up the welding.

Things are looking good.

Hey now ! Its not as bad as Canyon Run 04', but still there, part of my Turbocharged life I guess, only on decel though. Car is running awesome so I don't care right now. I almost got T'ed when a guy ran a stop sign yesterday, thank God I saw him and got on the pedal. No Turbo lag in my car, and cleared the intersection just in time. Dang people not paying attention to driving. The Widow is back safe in the garage. Derk, you are coming right, you can be the parts van for all of us ! j/k Hope to see a many of you there. -B.
Posted By: KingpinSVT Re: From the DEAD CO UT meet VOTE NOW ! - 02/01/06 05:28 AM
Koni kit is on its way! And Ill be cranking those suckers to stiff for our canyon jaunt. Its going to look like Im riding on train tracks sucka

I need a racing seat
Posted By: PlatoSVT Re: From the DEAD CO UT meet VOTE NOW ! - 02/01/06 08:47 PM
I need my car back and running...
Plato, what kind of work are you having done ? If there is something I can help you with, let me know. We need as many people to come on the run as possible. -B.
Posted By: PlatoSVT Re: From the DEAD CO UT meet VOTE NOW ! - 02/02/06 12:50 AM
Actually the differential chewed itself UP! I got a GREAT deal on a lightly used one from GTO Pete, and it's already back in! I picked the car up just a few minutes ago and it's great to have it back. It's still not %100, but it's alot closer. Just need to get these 02's replaced, and a more subtle exhaust, and I'll be quite happy with the Contour. Although I'm not gonna lie, I have been tempted to browse over the Mitsubishi Galant, as well as the 'ol GTP. The resale on those things is horrible right now, making it very opportune for someone like me... Just a thought.
Well glad you got it up and running. GTP's are sweet, but auto supercharged cars are not as fun as manul. cars. my .02, I do like the 2 door ones though. Galants are not as reliable as you would think. I drove one for a bank that I worked for and the axles failed, and the transmission. It might have been a lemon, but that was my experience with the Galant. I hope you can make the run. -B.
Posted By: KingpinSVT BW's days are numbered! - 02/05/06 06:27 AM
Got the Konis put on today. My buddy and I did them in about 8 hours (with breaks, and having to uninstall the just installed rear struts when you forget the anti-squeak things on the springs) , and with experience I could probably do the whole car in about 4 or less hours now.

Let me say, the full Koni set-up is nice! With the shocks set on soft they are the perfect for around town. Hard, but compliant enough to soak up bumps nicely. Not overkill at all. You definitely dont feel like you are riding on big drop springs. Highway cruising is nice too. The drop looks good so far, and I took before measurements to compare with later once the springs have a chance to settle. I think the mirko may become a "showoff" only piece, I dont know if Ill be able to leave it on from day to day on COs crappy roads.

After I get an alignment Ill crank 'em up a bit to see how they really perform in the canyon!
Posted By: BlackwidowSVTT Re: Canyon Run "06" - 02/05/06 08:13 PM
Kingpin, I have the next 3 days off, lets run them man ! A little pre run for fun. Its snowing like mad in the mountains though, we will have to stay low so we dont see snow. Let me know. -B.
Posted By: Derk-xB Re: BW's days are numbered! - 02/08/06 02:58 AM
Konis are fun to play with. Have fun with 'em!
Posted By: BlackwidowSVTT Re: Canyon Run 06 - 02/08/06 06:45 AM
Derk you going to come ? Will you be done in CA by then ? Do hope you can make it. -B.
Posted By: Derk-xB Re: Canyon Run 06 - 02/08/06 01:56 PM
I finished up in CA a few weeks back. I'm currently back in SLC doing my OB/GYN rotation, surgery to follow.

We'll see if I can make it. I'm doing my ER rotation in Denver. I'll be there from the last week of April through mid May. When is this shindig goin' down again???
Posted By: KingpinSVT Re: Canyon Run 06 - 02/08/06 02:55 PM
Should happen right smack dab in the middle of your ER rotation. Give us a holler when your around here, if nothing else I bet me and Randy could meet you for dinner sometime
Posted By: Derk-xB Re: Canyon Run 06 - 02/09/06 01:36 AM
Well, I wont know my ER schedule until I get there - they should have the entire month planned out when I get there. If I can't make the run, dinner sounds good.
Posted By: yamahaSHO Re: Canyon Run 06 - 02/13/06 07:04 AM
Randy, keep me up to date. I'd like to make it.
Posted By: BlackwidowSVTT Re: Canyon Run 06 - 02/14/06 01:40 AM
Oh yeah man, I will keep everyone informed. I will get a hotel setup in April. It will be awesome to see everyone there. Its going to be a great run and weekend. -B.

I will need comformation from everyone that wants to attend by April.
Posted By: yamahaSHO Re: Canyon Run 06 - 02/14/06 06:35 AM
I'm hoping to have my car back together by then... Did you see the pics? If not, here you go. http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=57282

I'll be doing a full rebuild and ditching the AMSOIL remote/bypass for an oil cooler.
Posted By: BlackwidowSVTT Re: CO & UT meet - 02/17/06 06:18 AM
stilov dont forget about the meet. Its only 10 hours from AZ to western CO. Good luck on the move and all. Hope your A/C works good, summer out there is a cooker ! 101 at midnight, its a nice vacation but not my cup of tea.
Everyone going to make May ? Hope so. . . -B.

Ashley graduates that weekend. I'll be back and forth from Denver to SLC in the 4,5,6th time frame.
Posted By: Swazo Re: From the DEAD CO UT meet VOTE NOW ! - 02/24/06 03:34 PM
I'll make sure I'm there, I doubt SZ is an option this year for me. I want to make a regional meet atleast

Well Stop by GJ and hang out one night. Just tell her traffic held you up ! Its awesome to see some excitement in this meet. It should be great, Derk, I got to ride in your box sometime, I dont ever see myself test driving one and I want to see why you like it so much. -B.
Posted By: KingpinSVT Re: I'm a "No Go" - 02/24/06 09:58 PM
Speaking of ugly boxes, I went and checked out a Honda Element the other day. I could totally see myself sporting one of those after college as a DD. Talk about tons of function! Also 4 banger MPG, AWD (option), and you can haul a ton of crap in there. Its HUGE on the inside, I was quite impressed.
Posted By: Derk-xB Re: I'm a "No Go" - 02/25/06 03:26 AM
Kingpin sees the light.

Rubber cars suck !! I hate that rubber fender look. I think the Scion looks better then the Honda, but I would never buy one, but if I won one, I would (Maybe) drive it. and I could win one, I know -B.
Maybe you can win 2 in one night!
You know, the '06 Honda's have the option to have the composite body panels painted. AWD is a bonus over the Scion, but you'd be over 20K.

Modified Xb's are way hot IMHO! You cannot beat the price either
Im not a big fan of the rubber look either. I would have to get the car in black so they dont stick out so much. Plus, black cars are cooler anyway

I did notice you can get them painted now. I dont know that I would buy new anyway. I can safely say for the next few years Ill be looking in the sub 20 range, unless somehow I find some bomb diggity job. I can dream, right?
Kingpin - have you been in a xB yet? Lots of space, great milage, and you don't need AWD in Florida. I've been super impressed with mine. You know Blackwidow secretly wants me to come to the canyon run so he can check out my car.
I dont know for sure that I will be living in the SE, or Florida for that matter. That would be nice, but Ive realized I may not get to be so picky. Ive also been thinking about the midwest, like Chicago.

AWD would be nice in Florida sometimes, like on the beach. Dont want to get stuck in the sand in front of all the honeys! Not like you can really get your mack on from a box, but you know
Originally posted by KingpinSVT:

Ouch!
Try gettin' it on in the back seat of a Contour...and when you do, think about how comfortable it could have been, if only you had a xB.

But the quality of girls you get in an SVT compared to a BOX would be night and day. BOX girls are very different. I would do it with a hotty in an SVT compared to a hippi in a BOX ! HAHAHA -B.

Nothin but love for ya Derk.
I vote for sometime at the end of march. Im new here and wanna get to know someppl from around the area. I have spring break at the end of march and would be able to make it down there. It would be cool to finally meet with some ppl with SVTs
Well I can tell ya, it aint gonna happen in March. Thats not to say we cant do something else before then, however. Where you at in CO?
Agreed. Oh and I had a pool function for the Marines Saturday. Turns out one of the other Candidates has a nice little E0 SVT as well. Guess good taste is just inherent in the Marines... I don't know if he's on this board or not, we didn't talk much. Off topic, I know, but figured it was worth mentioning. Also have seen a red SVT parked in the freshman dorms. Still looking forward to the trip in May, I should be able to make it!

Sorry man, it's May, welcome to the club. We meet every other month in Denver for are small meets. This is for are big SZ want-to-be trip. Try to get the weekend off (May 5th-7th), you will have a good time. -B.
o yeah i will definitely try my best to come but yeah im in aurora so where do you guys usually meet up when you get together in colorado?
South Denver (I-25 and Arapaho I believe?) at Gunther Toodies burger joint
o yeah i know where that is my cousin used to work there tell me when you guys meet up next ill be there for sure
March is here, May is around the corner. I'm excited ! See you all there. -B.
OK,

Other than the canyon cruise, what else is in the works? I'm just wondering since I will be there no matter what. I'd like to do anything I could to help make it a killer meet!
Well there is a Dyno in GJ, I thought it would be fun but I dont think anyone else wants to pull. There is a go-kart track there and batting cages. We could always make a trip to Aspen and hang out there, high end crowd and can down hill race on mountain bikes. There is a ton of stuff we can do, I really am looking forward to the cruise. Anyone else have ideas. -B.
bump, bump bump bump, bump it up ! -B.
Randy, I bet you want to swap out wheels and headlights with me. I mean, no one really wants those things when they buy a new car anyway...
Wheels and tires are yours for $700. Tires only have 6000k on them. Thats a great deal -B.
and no shipping !
Lemme ponder it. I really do want a new wheel/tire setup, and that IS a great deal, but I think I might have some other maintenance things that are coming up instead. Tuition, wheels, tuition, wheels, tuition, wheels....

Avoiding family to make sure I have fun while in Colorado I may have to grow a beard and wear huge reflective lensed aviators to pull this off

I hear ya, I am dropping off my wife in Montrose and then going to GJ on my own. My wife is from there and she wanted to stay with her family. I am getting the hotel setup, how many people want to share a room ? I think 5 or 6 rooms might be enough. So, lets here from everyone thats coming. -B.

Who is all coming ???????? Kingpin, Me, Plato . . . anyone else from Colorado, how many UT guys can make it. Its time to move on this guys, only 3 weeks till go time. -B.
Any interest left in this thing? Sounds like we're losing attendees and fast. I'll be honest Randy, I'd love to do a drive, but if it's only going to be 3 of us, it just might not be worth going all out for the weekend.
Its still looking good for me. Im with Plato though, if its only going to be 3 or 4 of us, Ill pass on the hotel/gas costs and we can meet in Denver. Hell we can make a pretty good run from Boulder here: Boulder-->Nederland-->Estes Park-->Boulder.

With lunch in Estes it would probably be about a half days drive, so doable in 1 day.
The only reason I wanted to go to GJ was because of the Utah guys, if they are not coming, then a Boulder meet is fine with me. UT guys speak up ! -B.
Sorry guys, I may not be able to make it. I'm getting ready for my move to Florida, so money/time is tight.

To be fair, if you all plan for a local meet that suits that purpose..... I will still try to make it.
Lets keep it on the eastern front then. Do you guys want to meet up on Saturday for a Boulder Cruise ? Plato; Kingpin, Buller . . . . -B.
On that same Saturday? Sounds good ta me!
Id like to come. I wanna get out and meet some other SVT owners.
Yeah, same weekend. May 5-7 weekend. So, me and Kingpin and Plato and Ryan4, anyone else ? -B.
If stuff's still goin' down on the 6th or 7th, I might be able to make it. I work in the ER from 7AM-4PM on the 6th and 7th.
Yeah either dates will probably work I will request off that weekend.
May 6th is the date. How much time is needed kingpin to get to the lunch spot in time (lunch time) ? Once we know that, we will know when we will start the run. Hope all can make it -B.
Oh I dunno. Its not an all day trek by any means. Should be plenty of time for everyone to get here and back home without waking up and the crack and returning late. Ive never made the loop, but I drive a section of it frequently (Boulder to Nederland) when Im stressed. Nothing like leaving it all behind while cruising a canyon!

Here are the 3 legs of the trip. Its not all that long. Instead of heading back to Boulder on Hwy 36 we can double back if you like to take a more twisty route back. Or, we can cruise into Rocky Mtn. National Park (would likely have to pay entrance fees but there could be some good picture ops, so be sure the whip is clean!) if there is something that peaks your interest there. Up to you guys. If we come back Hwy. 36, we can cut out just before returning to Boulder heading up Left Hand Canyon (another stress reliever) which goes back to Nederland, then come back down Canyon Road (the 1st leg). We can play it by ear.

1st leg: Boulder to Nederland 16 miles

2nd leg: Nederland to Estes Park 40 miles

3rd leg: Estes to Boulder 35 miles (mostly highway)

Let me know what you think. Traffic can become a problem (at least from Boulder to Nederland, not sure about the rest), but its still twisty and fun. When we get to Nederland, we can either double back or ride down 36. We can start/end at my place if you like. Its pretty simple to find from the highway.

If nothing else, we can at least take a pic here (right before we get to Nederland). There is plenty of space to fit all 4+ of us. Ill make everyone look good by comparison .

Damn thats an old pic
Awesome Kingpin, looks like a great trip. Just to let you know, I have 5 guys from Focaljet coming. So, should be around 9 or 10 of us. Cant wait, say 9am, should beat a lot of the traffic, I would hope. Us southern people should meet up on C-470 and go to Boulder together. -B.
9 or 10 eh? Ill arrange another starting point. Dont really have room for that many cars here.
Guys you can count me outmy car just got totalled last night.
Bummer, Ryan.

Im thinking we can meet at one of the parking lots on campus. There is one where we should have plenty of space without bothering anyone, especially on Saturday. This will also give anyone who would like to grab a peek at the campus a chance to check it out. It is also easy to get to.

So I guess we are meeting at 9am?

The directions are easy. From the south you guys will take I25 north until you see the US 36 / Boulder exit. You will take this all the way into Boulder. Near the end, 36 will curve to the right, and the speed will drop (watch out for speed traps. They love to make quota at this speed limit drop). There will be a stoplight (the very first one). Turn left at the light onto Colorado Ave. (there are two turn lanes, get in the left one). You will see a huge parking lot on your left at this point. Turn left at the 1st light on Colorado (again, be in the left of the two lanes). At this point you should see the entrance to the parking lot. Turn into the lot. Remember to yeild to pedestrains on campus! They own the roads around here.

Im thinking we will meet on the east or far end of the lot. Ill check it out this Saturday to make sure it wont be busy, but it will be finals weekend then so who knows. I dont think CUPD will bother us, but I dont have any first hand experience with that, lol. Just dont be stupid.

If this doesnt sound OK, let me know. I can pick out another spot.

The parking lot can be seen in the middle of the screen (the SE corner of colorado and regent). The parking immediately south is a parking garage.

Sounds good ta me! I shouldn't have anything going on, and provided I don't get backed up on finals stuff, I can't wait! And c'mon Chris, Spring Zing wasn't THAT far away...

BTW, any chance I can show up at your place and give the car a quick wash before we head out? All my stuff is at my parent's in Littleton.

So you mean I have to get up early just so you can wash your car?

No prob. man. You can do it here.

Just in time!

Well my car sold on ebay. Waited a week and I finally got an email from him. "The bank changed there mind, I cant get the car". So, Still got my SVT, should be fun for the run. I did keep his deposit, nonrefundable, because ebay charged me for the sale. The joys of selling on-line.
Cant wait for the run, and Ryan4: Be careful for OD fraud. Sounds like an awesome deal though. Cant wait till we go. 6 days and counting. -B.
Posted By: BlackwidowSVTT Re: Boulder Meet - 05/03/06 02:36 AM
Going to be a nice day on Saturday, 10% chance of rain, which is good. Cant wait. -B.
Posted By: Ryan4 Re: Boulder Meet - 05/03/06 03:34 AM
Its a 98. its on cars.com I am looking at it this weekend and hopefully picking it up. Dont worry I will definitly look at the condition of the car and see if the OD was changed. I did the carfax on it and only 5 records came up and two of them were change in ownership. It looks nice and ill let you guys know what happens.

Ryan, if you want to ride with me, you can for the Canyon Run. Just in case you dont get it in time. -B.
Posted By: Ryan4 Re: Boulder Meet - 05/04/06 04:04 AM
Yeah thx plus if this one doesnt work out I think I will be very interested in your car and a test ride in the car might convince me..
Posted By: KingpinSVT Re: Boulder Meet (heads up!) - 05/04/06 06:09 AM
The meeting point may change since it seems everyone may be coming up 93, so stay tuned. . . . .
Posted By: BlackwidowSVTT Re: Boulder Meet (heads up!) - 05/05/06 01:38 AM
Kingpin, maybe you could find a restraunt parking lot that would be closed around 9am so we could meet up there and then head-out ? Going to be around 12 to 15 cars ! Need some space. The Focaljet guys have taken over the plans on meeting places and such to Boulder. I know Im meeting with a group in Monument at 7am. Then somewhere in Golden at a gas station, then Boulder by 9am. Thanks for all your help Kingpin and congrads on Graduating ! -B.

Most of the restaurants are on the other side of town from where you guys are going to be. You'll be coming in on the west side of town, and there isnt anything on that side to use. You'll see when you get here.

Boulders funky like that. I think Im going to have to go on a scouting run along our route to maybe find something suitable that Im forgeting about.

Well, damnit! Finals week is next week, and I found out today that I have two study sessions I need to hit on Saturday. It's Calc II and my Physics course, both of which are on the C/D line, so I just can't afford to miss 'em. Sorry guys, you better take plenty o' pics! Grrrr... I was looking forward to this all damn week..,
Aw man! I havent seen you in forever! I was really hoping you could make it. Oh well, at least I dont have to wake up early!

OK, so Ive decided on a new location. We will be meeting in a King Soopers parking lot thats right off of 93. The address is: 3600 TABLE MESA DRIVE BOULDER,CO 80303. Mapquest this location so you can visualize what Im about to explain (or google earth or local for sat. images).

Once you enter Boulder city limits on 93 it will be mostly houses. A few miles into town (not many, maybe 2), you will come to Table Mesa drive. There will be a Conoco station on BOTH sides of the street. You will turn left onto Table Mesa. The entrance to King Soopers will be on your left, not too far up. There is an overflow parking lot on the WEST side, thats where we will meet.

If anyone is still coming up 36, thats fine. Exit on the Table Mesa exit. I believe its the first exit once in Boulder (once you come down the big hill). The exit ramp divides in two, stay to the right. You will then turn left at the light and you will be heading west on Table Mesa. You will travel a few miles down Table Mesa until you cross 93 (also called Broadway). You will then see the King Soopers on your left.

After we meet, we will continue down 93 to Canyon. Turning left on Canyon will start our trip. This sound better for everyone?
Chris, when are you heading back to FL? I might be able to come down sometime and take a detour from my drive to Denver, and we could hit some bars/get some food. Let me know. I was really hoping to make this too!

EDIT: Oh and Kingpin, 70 more posts, and you are the official post representative of the Mile High City!
I leave the 16th. Do you still want the struts/springs? If so, stop by. Let me know otherwise and Ill toss 'em. Ill be busy Thursday-Sunday with graduation and parents, but other than that Im fairly free. Let me know.
