Perhaps near the end of the month or early next?
The last FocalJet meet was a blast. We met up in SLC, drove up through Park City then down into Layton for food. Something like that shouldnt be too hard to plan out.
Opinions? Perhaps even invite the MSP peeps again? Derk, have you found a Scion forum yet? Maybe Dave could bring some Neons along?
FJ thread
Feel free to add links if this is mentioned on another forum.
Yikes, early this upcoming month I should be working the bugs outta Swazo and might not be able to make it.
It's down to the nittiest of the grittiest of small loose ends, it's not even funny
id be down - but the great majority of the mazda guys are idiots - no thanks.
I would prob have to get work off if its too late in the day - why not make it in the afternoon more than at night?
Hmmm...access denied.
This month seems relatively un-busy for me, so I'd likely go if I don't have a conflict. When's the date?
Have I found a forum?...? Pssshaw!
www.utahscions.comwww.scionlife.comThose are the 2 I frequent.
can a lowly wrx wagon come?
WRX wagon = family truckster with balls.
Bring it!
All it has i the 3/16th mod, catless 3 in downpipe and a K&N..oh yeah and my Enkei's are on the way. I hae an up-pipe I have yet to install. Maybe before the meet???
I want to meet !
CO has dropped of the face of the earth here in the SW, sucks to be me. -B.
Depending on what day, I'll try to make it.
I'm moving on the 28/29th, so if it's on one of those days, I'm out.
Ok then, how about June 4th? Does that fit into everyones schedule?
That also gives Daymon some time to try to finish Swazo, and it gives me some time to get my suspension on (since I still havent ordered my rear strut mounts from BAT
).

that should work for me
when on the 4th?? Im going to the US vs costa rica and real salt lake game. its a double header. Before or poss after I would be down.
hmmm...mid-term on the 6th.
I could make it if I don't play all day long.
in the evening - Im not sure - lemme check:
US v. Costa Rica World Cup Qualifyer: 5:30
Real SL v FC Dallas: 8:00
what about lunch at moes like we did a while back - I know daymon would go for that, meet somewhere and drive to moes or something along those lines.
I have the whole day off (when I get off work at 6am that is . . .)
I'd vote for lunch.
why are you up so early -
Short answer - I'm nuts
Long answer - I rode up Big Cottonwood this morning with a buddy. We met at the mouth at 6:15 AM cause he has to go to a wedding at 10:30.
It was cold up there, but beautiful. We encountered a moose, too!
you have to sign in for focaljet to work, some of the forums are locked off to non-registered users. im all up for it.
expect about 2-3 utah jetters to go.
all the others never check back till after the meet.

me too - lets do lunch!
So lunch on the 4th? Does that work for anybody else here? i.e. Jon, who started this thread.
Works for me.
we're getting closer.....Sat. June 4th, lunch at Moe's, but what time?
Do we want to do lunch after or before a drive? If a few of us want to have something to drink, after the drive might be better. Depending on where we go for a drive, lunch at Moe's first would be a better plan.
The last FJ meet met up in SLC, cruised up through Park City and then down Morgan canyon. We stopped at Iggy's for dinner. It seemed to work out quite well. Everyone put about the same mileage on their car.
If we were to stay around SLC, someone else is going to have to think of places to go for a drive, since I am not extremely familiar with fun places to drive down there.
me neither - but Ive got to be back at rice stadium for the soccer games that evening.
We could drive up Emigration and take some photos at Little Dell reservior and at the top of Big Mountain pass...
That'd be about 30-40 mi round trip. (That's where I bike a lot, so we might have to watch out for cyclists)
Ya...Derek you wouldn't want to get hit by a cyclist coming around a corner

Might dent my car!
Any "nay" votes for Emigration canyon?
Edit: I just invited the utahscions. We'll see what they say!
I have been trying to start a new local car club that is like the ones old foggies have for thier hotrods, and one that isnt proliferated by wise ass teenagers for a while now. I think i will take saturday for all its worth and try to plan it out, ask for volunteers to make a presidency and try to get it off the ground (finally)
It at this time has no name (a few good ones have been tossed around) and will be for cars, not one make or model, just guys with cars who want to get together admire rides and talk. yada yada yada
Id love it if we could be there and if you would like join the new club.
Saturday June 4th Moes tavern for lunch and a ride.
well I may be able to hit the lunch..not sure about the cruise. I'll probably be in the wagon...I still don't even have it registered and the tags are expired...I am waiting on the stupid title and some time to go get it in Provo.
where is it at? I could pick it up for you
at least one one mazda is coming and one volvo too.
Looks like a Focus and a CSVT will be coming...they're from utah
scions
Edit - where are we meeting? Moe's?

I was under the impression that we were going to get some lunch there. I usually eat pretty fast, but I think I can stick around for ya.
1pm @ Moe's....I'm there. I posted on SRTForums, so we'll see if any more SRT's show up. I know of 2 Stage 3's in town, cross your fingers and toes 1 of them shows up.

I need to tell a few people who want to come from mazda and volvo boards.
It's about...... 380 South and West Temple, and it is directly west of the chevron.
This the place?
Moe's Grill

Salt Lake City UT

Looks like there's going to be at least 1 other xB.
So there will be two of you we can ditch in the twisties?

And the straights.
dont worry - ill pull away from stops in 3rd so you can keep up . . .
Thanks, dude. Don't burn your clutch out on my account, though.
Just got an idea: do you guys want to drive out the Kennecott mine? We never did that last fall...
OH HELL YEAH!!!
never been there and totally want to!!!
Anyone else? It's not going to be an exciting drive, but it's cool up there. I think it'd be a cool pic background, too.
It's about $4 to enter, IIRC.
Like I said, I will be along for the ride, since I dont know SLC that well.
25 hours before the meet, the work on the car begins...

Werd. I think I'm going to start a little project when I get back from clinic this evening.

Suspension replacement isnt exactly little. What do you have planned?
all Ive got to do is clean my ho
My little grill project didn't work out so hot, so I'm gonna try to figure some way to get cooler air into my intake. Nothing like what you're embarking on.

I am hoping my STi scoop will be dry enough to mount on the hood tomorrow...I won't be able to do any wet sanding though yet, so don't be too critical.
This is going to be a fun meet, I can tell already.

Hehe. I still have one strut to change, all four tie rod ends and that damn oil leak that makes me have to drop the subframe to fix it.
On the bright side, both rear springs/struts are in. The rear control arms are boxed, the subframe is literally hanging by its bolts, but all the bolts are installed and awating torque.
The driver's front strut and spindle are in. The skidplate and front cover are off. Drop the subframe and it should be smooth sailing after that.
well - youve got 14 hrs to fix it - get going -
I think the worst is over. Dropping the subframe will be cake. IIRC, ten bolts on the oil pan, remove both belts, the oil pump and then I have reassembly. The other strut should go quicker too since I dont have to seperate two spindle assemblies.
I want it done by ten, eleven at the latest. That will give me time to get it aligned before I head to SLC. I do know that I will have the dirtiest car there....unless someone goes muddin at Kennecott. Derk, you up for that?
Originally posted by ExDelayed:

You damn skippy I am!
Hey is Daymon gonna be there? I have to go a try to fix an exhaust leak in the suby.
He was saying that he was going to be.
for me. I dont know where my oil pump seal is at. Which means I am not going to drop the subframe for two inner tie rods only. I wanted to do the inner tie rods, oil pump gasket and oil pump seal to try to cure my oil leak. Dropping the subframe isnt bad, but its not something that I want to do twice.
So... All I have left is the front right strut and the two outer tie rods and I am good to go.
Well I got my exhaust leak patched as well as I can do...I didn't even start it to see b/c I can't do anything else. You see my downpipe is 3in and the cat bach is 2.5 or 2.25. (stock) SO I won't truly be able to fix it until i get a new cat-back, but I got the scoop on...it looks pretty good...a couple little imperfections in te paint, but not that wet sanding won' take care of.
Enjoy your food guys. I just got the car back on the ground.
thank you gentlemen - its nice to get together for a small while once in a big one.
That was fun! It was nice chatting for a while.
I cheesed out and helped my parents move
Sorry guys
No worries, Daymon. You just missed out on seeing my pimpwagon in person.
Talking w/ you guys about wheels made me hate my hubcaps even more.
*ponders budget* I need an honest oppinion and a possible chop:
Circuit 8 Grid What do you think that bronze would look like? I know bronze and "thundercloud metalic" sounds like a bad combo, but I'm thinkin' it might look good.
I like the steel gray as well.
both of those are nice wheels
I usually hate the 8 or 4 spoke wheels - but the circuits look way better than the other ones.

Better than the grid (6 spokers) or better than other 8 spokers?
What do you guys think about the bronze? That site has a bunch of pics...
If your car was more of a platinum bronze would look good IMO. But, I would stick to either gunmetal or black.
so did anyone bring a camera or what?
Derek...I have Falkens on my SVT and I really like them...I think that guy I told you about can get them for about 110 a wheel or so for 17's...that's what I paid for my Falkens.
nope - we just sat and chilled - no drive nothing - but then again - it was jsut nice to sit and chat.
derek - I like the 8 better than 6 - go with bronze - I would but bronze and yellow dont play well together.

.....just 'cause it pulls as hard at 100mph as it does at 40mph....
great meet, good to chat with everyone
Bronze is going to date, too. In 5 years people are going to look at bronze wheels like we look at tight-rolling pants and hypercolor shirts.

I'm still looking around. I need to assess my financial status for the next semster before I purchase some wheels. But, I'm most certainly keeping your guy in mind.
Dave - I bet you don't regret leaving the Coug for the SRT. 100mph pull =
