Yes, and I also did not make a post about finding a location that will host underage drinking.

Yea Skunkw3rks was an ideal place with a gas grill etc. I have no patience for charcoal. This has to be in Sept. BTW. Don't recall the exact date of last years.
Posted By: snakous Re: 2006 Year End Bash ideas - 07/19/06 05:47 PM
I have an idea that would work out GREAT if my mom okays it. My parents are moving to a house in White Lake that sits on about 3 acres and has plenty of room for cars. The house is pretty much empty but theres a bathroom and a big detached 3 car garage that has a bunch of junk in it, but would work if it rains or if Roger wants to detail another car! (dirt floor though )

I honestly really don't see her saying yes unless the house is in our possession by then (still in my Grandpa's name) or she is feeling very generous. I will run it by her later on and see what she says.

Just a hopeful idea.

That's the one. My mom should be home from work in a couple hours so I will call her and ask. It's her birthday today so maybe she'll be in a good mood and say yes. We could park out front where that SVT that you saw was for sale Dave. Or I could clear out enough room for a car to fit through and we could all park out back which would be even better.

Of course this is all wishful thinking as I would say its only about a 25% chance she will say yes. Steeda, I would say find out about SkunkworkZ cause I'm only hoping about my parent's house.

if we go k-zoo, i'm in and if alcohol is the idea, a home western game weekend is the time to do it. tailgate with the cars over by the field(all the room we could possibly need if early enough), go to the game, house parties, pass out in the cars if from outta town, and drive home at like, 7 in the morning.

I remember when we went to that, didn't enter the show, but we went. I think car shows for meets don't work because not everyone has their car in "show shape", not flaming anyone, but just stating a fact. The Bash has gotta be bigger than our Tony Packos meet, I mean we've got a rep to maintain here! Having people come from Indiana, Ohio, across Michigan and the locals last year raised the bar

Burgers and dogs, good and simple, but lets make sure we don't run out of pop, remember last year I can have my wife make us some taco dip and I can bring some quality dogs for the grill I'll bring about 4-5 packs of dogs as well as the taco dip.

Edit: If I bring a big bowl of tuna macaroni you fools need to eat it all so it doesn't go to waste. I think Pete ate the most! (only because I heard how much he likes the noodle )

Posted By: Berkel Re: 2006 Year End Bash ideas - 07/30/06 10:36 PM

Posted By: 99SVT_dup1 Re: 2006 Year End Bash ideas - 07/30/06 10:38 PM
Metropark = great idea.

Doesn't matter which one to me.
Posted By: Steeda. Re: 2006 Year End Bash ideas - 07/30/06 10:39 PM
This is how we ran it last year!

You have to either bring a Dish or pay $5 to eat. We also need plates , charcoal, Drinks, Napkins Etc Etc.

Does everyone want me to take control of this and set everything up?

It can't be at Skunkworks becuase its not my shop anymore soo thats a no go.

seems like a metro Park would be the best Idea
Posted By: BiggityBon Re: 2006 Year End Bash ideas - 07/30/06 10:45 PM
you might as well, jason. seems like everyone listens to the oldest haha

hell would be fun...i'm in for it!!!!!

So if you were to bring plates and napkins and stuff that would include you eating for free right! haha-- if so, SHOTGUN on plates and napkins har har har
Posted By: Chrisf695 Re: 2006 Year End Bash ideas - 07/30/06 10:52 PM
Theres a nice metro park on the other side of the highway from kensington park. Just another idea.
Posted By: Steeda. Re: 2006 Year End Bash ideas - 07/30/06 10:52 PM
yes, but you realize it needs to be plates for roughly 75 people and if you bring plate it needs to be plates, napkins and plastic utensiels

yes sir I do-- Plates, Napkins, bundle of joy plastic silverware haha... nothing Costco can't handle-- I will confirm if I can go, etc. whenever this meet is confirmed

Chris does have a good idea, Kensington Metroparks are great-- they have huge outdoor grilling areas (covered mind you), a beach (september probably won't be beach weather sadly), a disc golf course, baseball diamond, etc. etc. etc. -- who knows--- There is a FREE way to get in there also, which not to many people know about except the disc golfers I believe...

BUNO ROAD-- off of the New Hudson/Milford exit IIRC, dirt road but only for about a mile-- then it leads right onto the main Kensington loop around and you drive right to wherever you want to go

Hell still sounds good though
Posted By: BiggityBon Re: 2006 Year End Bash ideas - 07/30/06 11:40 PM
hmm, disc golf????? i might be able to drag the b/f out to this one! i'll be up for either place though

yes-- kensington has 24 holes-- they added an extra 6 for tournament purposes-- it is a very short course, but holds some challenges to it. There are some Ace runs possible on nearly every hole, and when you have some beer, it makes for a great time

Hell, the baseball field would be sweet if people play baseball. I love pick-up baseball

Just got back from discin' and my friend got an ace. A few weeks ago I hit the chains and thought it went in, but as I went closer it just popped out And it was on #4 (can't see the basket)

#4 at Kensington? Downhill to the left a bit? yeah, i've seen numerous people get aces there, always a good thing

Try playing Cass Benton-- rated one of the hardest courses around and I live a mile from it so I play it everday, I love it

thanks... but i've been reading everything on this and last that i read, no one knows what's going on since people got banned or whatnot.

now that i re-read that post.... elizabeth park is the answer to my question
Posted By: BigBEN_dup1 Re: 2006 Year End Bash ideas - 08/12/06 01:34 AM
i still think kensington metro park would be a good bet...

p.s. i live near it and i think there is plenty of parking if that is an issue or question at all...
