I got the club pre-registration papers last week , but with my bad back , it's been hard for me to sit still at the computer to post the info until now , so here goes ...

Find the info at www.carsatcarlisle.com .

It's being held from June 4th to June 6th 2004

The club pre-registration is $30 until FEBRUARY 28th , which allows 2 adults into the show for all 3 days .

If we are to have a TENT again this year , we need to
REGISTER EARLY !!! As usual , we need 25 registered cars to get the tent .

At this time , the give-away car is a
1964½ Mustang .

I will be scanning the club pre-registration form tonight after work & it will be available for download / printout on my Webshots account . If you have any questions , send me a PM and I'll try to answer them .

Posted By: Checker'd SVT Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '04 - 01/08/04 02:30 PM
Maybe we can get a group rate at a hotel as well.
Posted By: chknhwk_dup1 Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '04 - 01/08/04 05:09 PM
I'll make it again!! Hee hee!!!

Hopefully I'll have more goodies on my baby this time.

Just found out my reservations for the hotel were made back in November.
I'll be at the Clarion which is $99 a night with AAA rates. I can get more info if anyone wants.

I uploaded it , but for some reason , I couldn't access it to get the link (like it didn't exist) . It should've shown up in my signature , but didn't . Well I finally found the darn thing : CLICK HERE for the CEG club pre-registration form . Pre-register by February 28th .

you can also CLICK HERE for a different link to the form , just in case

Allen,
You can count on me to round up at least 10 Tours to represent the CAP CEG again.

I recently bought a 98 svt and was planning on going to Carlisle with a friend. If I register do I get to park in the site or do I just admission? I was there years ago and remember parking across the street. I live close enough to drive back and forth, so can I leave and come back?

The car entry will get you everything you need to enter and park in the show.

Just to clarify a bit further , the club pre-registration will get you entry for 2 people for all 3 days , parking on the showfield for those days , a dash plaque , a goodie bag , and tickets to try to win the give-away car (a '64.5 Mustang ) . Plus , by pre-registering before February 28th , you'll help us secure a CLUB TENT for another year .

In addition to all that , you get to hang with US for a couple days !

Speaking of which, Allen: can you send me the pre-order stuff?

By the time the online signup is up & running , the CLUB PRE-REGISTRATION will be long gone & THAT's where we need to shine . We need 25 people to pre-register to get the tent again . We can do it ...

John - right click , save as , print it out , write $30 check , mail it in .

Hmmmm ...

I just did it again & it worked just fine for me .
Here's what I did :
Clicked on the link , when it came up , I clicked on the tiny little "title" picture to bring it up to full size . Once it loaded , I right-clicked & chose "Save Picture As" , then I printed it out . You can also choose "Print Picture" instead of "Save As" & cut out the middle BS .

If you still have trouble , just PM me your info & I'll send one out snail mail .

If we are all going to be there representing CEG. Do we have a banner? If not i will be more than happy to make and donate an 8x4' CEG banner. And if there is anything else aong the lines of signs, stickers and any other vinyl work, let me know.

We don't have a "banner", more like a "sign".

A banner would be great!

Dang...thats hideous...lol. No offense.
I will Make a choroplast sign as well. What size Banner would you like me to bring. also, i will make a load of the www.contour.org stickers too, and the oval CEG logo. Those i will sell for like $2 and $5. But the banner and sign are on the house

Well ... I made the sign as a last-minute idea when we got our first tent at Carlisle a few years back . We've just sorta used it ever since . It's just a "to the point" thing . It's a plastic signboard with vinyl letters . I figured just in case it rained , weatherproof stuff was a must . I just wanted people to know who we were , unlike many of the "tent people" .

If you want to make a banner , that'd be great ! Something a bit more "professional" would be nice . The tent is (I believe) 20'x20' .

Now I'm really looking forward to Carlisle . Hopefully we can get 25 people , so we actually get the tent .
Posted By: parkedcar Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '04 - 01/28/04 03:37 PM
i didnt mean tyo be harsh with the sign...it got its point...lol i was thinking black banner with silver and white vinyl. And maybe the sign, white with black lettering. and if a tent is 20x20 i'll do the 4x8. since that is pretty much standard. i'll start it when i move into my shop next month (too crammed in my basement right now to do it)
Posted By: Buddy Palumbo Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '04 - 01/29/04 12:37 PM
No offense was taken by your comment , don't worry . With a 4x8 sign , people will know who we are , that's for sure . Is that size OK with the rest of the "regulars" ??

Well, it looks like this place is only about 5 hours from Cleveland, O hi o, so maybe....I went to the Fairground's web site, but it really didn't say alot (to me) about what we'd be doin for 2 to 3 days. Is this just like hangin out at Denny's or the same parking lot where everybody goes on Saturday night etc, for a couple of days--which isn't bad--or is there alot going on? I'd like to see some vendors that sell stuff we can use. I saw drags, burn out contests, and a couple of other things but what else is there? Can you bring alcoholic beverages? Fill me in, I think I'd like to go and I still have time to register.

Dude, you should DEFINITELY come down! I want to see that SVT.

Seriously, it's a lot of fun and there are a LOT of vendors plus presence by SVT and a lot of other big companies. That's where I got my dyno from last year, bought a few things, saw a lot of stuff - including two HOT lesbians in a Cobra. It's a lot of fun.

I don't know the tally so far , but I'm getting the feeling it's gonna come down to the wire this year . I know we're down at least 2 cars this year from PA alone for sure , Ash sold his SVT & my brother sold his '95 SE . Plus , it looks like attendence is a little grim so far . i'm sure its not terrible for some one who isnt 250lbs. I'm a big guy, and the contour is not exactly a "big" car. I slept, but wasnt extremely comfy, but at least it helped stop the noises coming from my friends tent. He was camping with his gf and to this day i cant figure out what those sounds where

Yeah, i wouldnt worry to much what your car looks like. I registered the ironman too so we could get the tent. That thing has 267k miles, a dented hood, hole in the rear bumbper, and a smashed up front right fender with the taped on cornner light too match. I'll clean her up as best i can, but shes not perfect

I have rooms booked at 2 different hotels and I only need one... So if there is anyone needing a place to stay I can give you the info. Otherwise I'm just going to cancel the 2nd hotel before I'm locked in.

Another FYI:
Same here. I have two extra rooms (long story). I'll hang on to them until 20 May for those that may need a room.

I got the tent reservation form in the mail today . I must call to double-check that THEY have us listed for 25+ cars , but since we made the count last year , there's NO PRE-PAY needed . I'll be sending it back to them ASAP to ensure we have our tent again (year #3) .

Any news on our CEG banner ?? Is the offer still on the table ??

Can't wait to see ya'll again !

Silly question: Are they going to let all contours there? I seem to remember there being some question if the area was for SVT's only or all model contours?

Last year the area was for all Contours. I would assume it would be the same this year also.
Posted By: The Digital Slacker Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '04 - 04/18/04 02:10 AM
I know it was for all models, but wasn't there some guy working there that said it was for SVT's only? Or am I just remembering non-existant events again?

2 year ago they broke us up inito "SVT" and "Contours".

Last year we were all together.

Posted By: GTO Pete Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '04 - 04/25/04 03:14 AM
I think we should be a little more coordinated this year!

Andy W. will be bringing his grill again to cook hot dogs and such.

If you would like to join in on the cookout on Saturday (lunch), please bring a few $ to reimburse Andy for the food, and please volunteer to bring something.

Here are some things you could bring:
(Please check the other thread to see what is taken.)
- a 12 pack of soda
- a 12 pack of water
- a cooler and a bag of ice
- forks
- a bag of chips
- a bag of cookies
- a box of crackers
- a jar of salsa
- hot dog buns

If everyone who wants in brings one thing, we should be very well set!

I am keeping track of the "Cookout" in the Capitol CEG section.

Let's get this rolling!

When are people gonna start showing up? Are there any plans to meet somewhat before going in or what?

I PM'd a couple guys (Checker'd SVT and LUCA) who said they have extra hotel rooms booked, any one else in case theirs are gone?
Posted By: chknhwk_dup1 Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '04 - 05/01/04 07:32 PM
I'm going to try to - depends on whether I need a new clutch or not.
Posted By: LUCA_dup1 Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '04 - 05/02/04 12:53 AM
I thought you just got a new clutch??!!

Pete, I'm sorry to hear about what happened. I searched after I asked.

Posted By: GTO Pete Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '04 - 05/02/04 04:33 AM
Thanks, LUCA. I'm going on 8+ months now having driven it one time.

Working on getting a new engine put in before Carlisle.

wa2tuff,
The Capitol CEG will all be caravaning up on Satruday morning arriving around 9:30 am and departing in the evening sometime.

Don't forget to post what you are bringing for the cookout!
Posted By: parkedcar Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '04 - 05/03/04 07:58 PM
I shined mine all up. spent 12 hours too
Then the brakes failed as i was pulling in my driveway and i smashed into the ironman
did a couple hundred dollars of damage to the svt and clobbered the ironman. I got 3 weeks to get the SVT in shape. repaint the bumper, remount the splitter new brake lines.
Posted By: Buddy Palumbo Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '04 - 05/04/04 12:34 AM
Well THAT just totally bites the big one !! Not just one , but both Contours damaged . You'll be busy .
Posted By: Buddy Palumbo Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '04 - 05/07/04 01:40 AM
I forgot to mention , I got our tent confirmation form the other day . We've got a TENT again this year !

I figured there'd be no problems , but it's always nice to see it in writing .

PETE - I hope your ride's done in time . Between your car & Antonio's car crapping out , there's two stellar-looking MD rides down for the count .
Posted By: chknhwk_dup1 Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '04 - 05/09/04 06:14 AM

So much for the new interior and paint this year. bad luck

I'll be there. i'm from ohio and will be driving over with my boyfriend and his brother in their turbocoupes and contours. i'll be registering this week.
see ya there.

Posted By: BlueSEchic Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '04 - 05/10/04 05:53 AM
what should i register as? i know last year, those who didn't register as SVT's, were told to move their cars to a Mid-size economy class section that was lame. in fact, some guy with a ford aspire with a big band-aid stuck on it took first place. let me know.
Posted By: Buddy Palumbo Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '04 - 05/10/04 11:49 AM
I requested , once again , that they put all Contours/Mystiques together regardless of trim level (SVT , SE , GL , etc.) . We'll see what happens . Maybe what we'll do , if they split 'em up again , is just move everyone into the same area & change the class names on the dash cards & be done with it . I ask them each year , we'll see if they listen this year .

A note to anyone still registering :
Don't forget to register the Contour under CONTOUR ENTHUSIASTS GROUP
(not C.E.G. !) So that we'll be sure to get the count towards our free tent .

We look forward to seeing you there !

BlueSEChic- Does your boyfriend or his brother need any TurboCoupe wheels ?? I have a set I'd like to sell & get out of my garage . You can see pics in my sig. below . Just click on it & look for the folder (the folder should be HERE ) . If he wants 'em , I'll bring 'em to Carlisle with me .

1st place!! LOL!! I remember that car! Wonder if the band-aid will still be there this year.

I still have one hotel room available if anyone is in need. It's at the Super8 Carlisle North, 1800 Harrisburg Pike. Shoot me a PM if ya need a room. I'll be cancelling it at the beginning of next week if no one needs it.

Neither of us need em I dont think, but if you bring em and wanna sell em fro a decent price, I'm sure someone will take em home..should be near 30 TC's there this year. PM me with what you want for em and I'll try and get the word out.

We will be parking on grass. If it rains like last year...

Towels and detailing spray is good.

parkedcar - You've got free reign on what you think the banner should look like . All I ask is no pastel colors with pretty little flowers & butterflies LOL !! Seriously , the color doesn't really matter that much to me , as long as it's easy to read and has all of the info necessary to let everyone know who we are . That way , any SVT reps that are strollin' through the field will realize that WE haven't forgotten about Ford's red-headed stepchild , even if THEY have .

wa2tuff - The field is grass with paved access roads . There's also a car washing area to keep that ride lookin' great each day (it's free , too ) . My ride in won't be as long as yours , but I'll be in the car wash area each morning , you car bet on that .

You should use the four colors that Ford used on the SVT Contours.

Just to let you know my Contour may not be there. I might have to represent in the Cobra.

That's a pretty good idea , John . The silver might be a bit hard to read unless you're right on top of it though . I think read-ability is most important .

Bummer about Puff . What's the hold-up thusfar ??
Posted By: chknhwk_dup1 Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '04 - 05/18/04 02:26 PM
Clutch went already. Twenty thousand miles.
So I decided to put in a newer tranny while I was at it. Then it turns out the Fidanza needs a new insert so that's on hold.
So basically I haven't had time to get it to a dentless repair place, get my carpet installed, get new floor mats, install my interior, install and tune my Greddy, install my new brakes, new wheels aren't in yet, etc, etc, yada, yada, yada.

Posted By: Buddy Palumbo Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '04 - 05/20/04 03:27 AM
John - Bummer you've got so much to do to the ride , man .

The car wash is free , and is basicly an area that they've piped in a bunch spigots & hoses where you can pull your car up & fill your bucket (bring your own supplies , BTW) & wash your ride . There's no "set time limit" , but to be courteous , wash your ride & move it to dry it & stuff so everyone else gets a shot . It's a pretty cool "perk" that they give ya .

Well i think i might go anyway. I spent the money already. I just need some sudgestions as far as what to do to the SVT for the show. I hit the ironman and put a band aide on it but this is too much for that.
As far as the iron man...thats thing is getting pretty beat and looks like ass. I also dont know if it can be trusted for a 3 hour trip.
