I found a Festiva for sale locally and I am going to check it out after work today. I need a winter beater. The SVT hates snow even more than I do. Hopefully it will be in somewhat decent shape. I hope to swap in a Mazda B6T after I am finished fixing the SVT and swaping a 351W into my RX7. I guess we will see...ARRRGH!!!

we began discussions with baco at SZ02 on buying the GL...
I think we finalized everything in Julyish.
Then again, our motivation was to teach me to drive stick on dry ground FIRST then on snow.

OT - your location strongly reminds me of my friend. He fully intends to buy a houseboat within the next year and live in it year-round.

YARRR!! I need more mates aboard me ship. If he likes pillagin' and plunderin' I will gladly take him aboard!

Seriously though, that kind of sounds fun. For a year or two anyway.

He's a bit odd. Spent last summer homeless, just for fun (literally slept in his old Eagle Summit wagon and showered at work, lol), currently has his belongings spread among three of my friends' apartments and will travel half the country on a whim in one weekend with nothing but a stick of deodorant.

I've no doubt he'll think up something wackier after one year of houseboat life.

festivas are by far the greatest winter cars in the world.

two winters ago, my friend had a red one and my other friend a blue one. we used to go out in storms to play tag. i can tell you this, the bumpers hold up to much more than 5 mph!

on the down side, they cant make it through snow banks that are above the hood believe it or not

oh that pic almost makes me wish i still had the GTI (thats it in the background)

oh well, i guess ill have to survive with the 95 contour GL that i just got FOR FREE!!!!!!!

they were very serious discussions, indeed. i think the topic first came up at the "titties and coke" bar.

ahhh...
Where a lucky young lady got to experience the Winds of SALAZAR!

Well, I bought it for $250. It has a little rust but nothing my hack job welding can't take care of. I am actually kind of excited about an 18 year old economy car. Is there something wrong with me?? ARRRGH!!!

Hrmm, is it in decent shape? Stick or auto? My sister is looking for something.

not in too bad of shape.
she is currently driving it.
i can ask more details if you want.

I would appreciate it if you could get some details. Mileage, any major issues, that kind of stuff.
Posted By: ElKy Re: Buying a car! - 05/05/06 12:54 PM
will do.
i just put a belt on it.
but i think it needs the other one too, it squeals when the car is started.
but it could just need to be tightened.
i will try to find out more this weekedn.
