ok people, I got my ducks in a row and now I am on the hotel booking.

this is for the huntsville meet if any one has any questions.
send me a pm with your info and I shall book the room.... one last thing...

the Econo lodge is no longer the cheapest hotel. the Baymont inn has the same prices as econolodge. and in my opinion a better hotel. so some one make one of those vote thingies and lets get some where with this. if any one else wants to look for cheaper hotels be my guest.

isn't the Baymont inn on university? if so we should talk to rich to see if it's in a good part of university or not.

I must agree with Hector.

As for the Baymont, there's two things going for us. Because it is located on University we will be closer to Trackmaster's, which is where the DynoJet is. Other thing is that it is sort of on the main drag of town.



Now that I think about it, that might actually hurt us some. being that it is so close to the mall and the fact that there is so much traffic in this area, there will of course be more cops on patrol too.



As far as the part of town it is in. I know that this was the first hotel that we looked at when booking the first meet back in April of last year. I talked to rich about it and he scoped it out for us back then. He reported with, "OK location, not the safest part of town, close to the mall, lots of places to eat..." so on and so on.

Kim and I are planning on going up to HSV sometime at the beginning of next month when we get her truck up and running. We are going to scope out Trackmaster and maybe get some shots of the dyno bay, if possible, and just meet everyone. Rich has said that he was going to go by there like two times, but has he? Has He? HAS HE??? No! He HASN'T!!! J/K Naw, we were planning on going over there anyway, just to bug the crap out of him.

I imagine that we can work something out with "Bob" if there are some money issues. Hopefully this time we will have people staying over at the hotel, but it doesn't seem like it.

Oh well! I'm staying where Kim is staying. (My kim, hector!)

Actually, I'm planning on going too. I think I can get my choice hotels employee rate at Econolodge, But I kneed to know which one it is. It it on south memorial parkway?? I don't think my wife is gonna be able to make it due to working every single friggin day of the week so If someone needs a place to sleep, I prolly can help you out. Nothing as long as you're part of it. Otherwise it can be annoying. When we went to Florida, our neighbors in the hotel in Gainesville...well I can sleep through a train wreck, but they woke her up every hour on the hour. Funny chite mangh.

you do know that if we get 2 or more rooms that our rates will go down right? so make sure the ones who will be getting a room, goes through bob or me and book their rooms with the CEG group. lower prices on rooms means more money for..........

I just confirmed with Kim that, yes - if we get two more people to book rooms under the name of CEG... our room rates will go down.

Awrite. Is there a double non-smoking still available?

I've gotta do a little more planning to figure out if I need one night or two 'cause the wifey wants to visit Nashville. On the way back, or sometime during the RM, I want to drive the Gap again. That was a blast last fall & sadly I missed the CEGers by one week.

Time to do my civic duty. I got a Jury summons in the mail yesterday.

Bad news is:
It is for the 29th of March. I'm gonna have to re-arrange my travel plans if possible, or re-schedule for the next Dragon run.

Selected or not, I have to show up at 8:00 am on the 29th - the day I was supposed to be in Nashville, so things are screwed up. I'll try to take off early in the week - Wednesday, & start my getaway with the visit to Nashville. Then I'll tool about with you CEGers on Friday & Saturday.

Like I said before, serving is not the problem. Whether I serve on the jury or not, I still HAVE to show up on the 29th at 8:00 am for the selection process.

I will not be able to change my plans, but I may have a legal option to postpone service - I'll look into that.

it's looking like I won't be able to get off work either. this past thursday we started shipping dartek and global computers orders through our system and works been hell cause of it I'm trying to get the end of the week off but it's not looking like I will be able to.

Rant ON: You know now that I think about it this sucks........Everybody Supposedly took off the days (this meet was decided at the beginning of the year) and it looked to be a great meet.....all the "regulars" were going to be there......and at the LAST SECOND Joe and Steve back out....to me that is just BS! All this "I gotta work" BS when you knew and supposedly requested the time off....because I know, if you really want days off.....employers are willing to work with you.....you just gotta work with them. Joe and Steve I hope you have fun here in Chicago.....I was looking forward to fun little drive down to 'Bama with Steve (the other road warrior)but even that ins't going to happen. (I really didn't expect Joe to show up in the 1st place ) RANT OFF!!!

Sorry hector but I was told on Friday that I had to be at work today. I was packed and ready to leave after work friday night if it wasn't for the warehouse manager telling me that I had to be there today to create the new locations that we are adding since the new racking was scheduled to come in today and sure enough at 8am I pull in the parking lot and there is 2 flatbed semi's FULL of racking. it is currently 8:45PM and I JUST walked in the door and I'm not even close to being done with what I have to do if I want to come down before friday.

and yes hector I did ask off and got approved back in febuary BUT it was a few weeks later that they announced that we were taking over the other 2 computer divisions so I have to take care of things so I will still have a job next week, cause I'm the only one who is allowed to create locations so I HAVE to be there.

OK Kids, this is still gonna rock! I know I haven't exactly been on here as much as I should, but, you know I won't stay away for too long. I have the entire weekend off and I am working now to accomodate the change in schedule.

Hector don't be too hard on em. Some employers are creeps and this sorta junk can happen. True, I don't like that I will be missing two of my good bro's, but you guys gotta do what you gotta do...handle your bizness! We will take lots of pics and vids and we will think about ya!

So it is all good, I want to make sure that for the rest of you that are coming, we are still gonna have a good time. I need to call Calvin as well...the Nissan Warrior and see what is shaking with him. We have some new roads to run out in Limestone county.

my boss is a good friend of mine too but he wasn't the one who denied my time off. it was the VP of distribution... which is also the warehouse manager.... only one person in the company could over ride him and he is the president of the company.

its not the first time that has happened, but I try not take my driving skills too far. I was always taught to be on my P's and Q's. and yeah i have a heavy foot. but next time I will not take the truck down that road. the other road that we went on last year on the ride down from franklin, tn..... that was ok cause it didn't have that sharp of curves, but this one was a whole nother ball game.

yeah the blonde learned her lesson......

I'm scared! I envy you though....I wouldn't have gotten near that road with anything like a truck......I hate driving my dad's Expedition because it is so high and I can't take corners like in the Contour.

No it is not that.....I tend to forget after a while and I take a corner and the wheels start squeeling. I drive that truck like my car....way too fast!
