This thing looks mean, and it's gonna tear right through the land of my ancestors very inminently... Looks like an un-predictable path that spans the Florida gulf coast... What are you guys doing to prepare?

XL
LOL I never prepare for these thing's ...I just sit back and watch and as soon as the destruction comes I get ready to rake in the lute !!

It does look mean right now but as soon as it tumbles though some hotels and [censored] like that , It will calm down some.

Not a great concern for me at this point.

Later in the season, things may get interesting...

Damn guys, keep safe!

As strange as it sounds... kinda wish I was there to "Experience" a strong hurricane. I've only been through F5 Tornadoes in Kansas and that doesn't comapre to the force of a huricane. Stay safe and take lots of pictures. .

Actually it's the other way around . Where as a hurricane may cover hundreds of square miles of damage, a tornado is more devastating in the small spots it lands. Hurricanes take off roofs in 3 or 4 counties at a time. Tornados take off houses where they land .

10 Minutes?! No no no no no no... Ryan, you got it all wrong. That 10 minutes for X includes the following:

Driving to her house
Showering
"preparing"
3 minutes of thumb sucking and fetal position
Convincing that he can do it
17 seconds of "it"
and out.

Thing is though, hurricanes quite often spawn tornados so you get the worst of both with a hurricane... If you had seen my trees & the neighbors houses on my street, you'd know that a tornado had spawned & ripped [censored] up.

I've got a spare bedroom. Just talk nice to my mommy and you can chill here.
Posted By: RobSVT-t Re: Hurricane Dennis - 07/09/05 03:02 PM
My car isn't even home for this Hurricane. It's sitting in the body shop getting the finishing touches done. But the last time Florida got nailed by a bunch of hurricanes, my car was sitting down on my side yard next to my bedroom window, but couldn't really be driven. I kinda had a run in with a manhole cover . Ripped my exhaust, from the cat-back(literally it caught the cat) and totally screwed up my down pipe. Stay safe guys. Us over here in Miami aren't getting anything in comparison. And try and keep the cars and yourselves out of harms way.

i parked my car inside the FSU parking garage....probably the safest place to park it.
Posted By: RobSVT-t Re: Hurricane Dennis - 07/09/05 03:41 PM
Parking garages work great. The only problem, and it's not much of one for our cars, is vortex winds that get in there. Potentially bad for high-profile vehicles. The guy who bought my '99 CSVT did parked his in a parking garage when all the hurricanes were coming through last year. I think he used Baptist Hospital parking garage. I would of, except I wasn't about ready to drive my car again with no exhaust at all.
