Yup , this is massive notice , but I wanted everone to have ample notice so there are no excuses :

Got this onfo in the mail yesterday from carlisle Productions ...

This year's Carlisle All-Ford Nationals will be on May 30th - June 1st , 2003

Since we had a "registered club" , we get a special deal .
Club pre-registration rate will be $30 (BEFORE February 28th)
Between March 1st and May 10th it will be $35
After May 10th , registration will be $45

The fine print : All pre-registrations must be recieved ON or BEFORE the deadlines ... NO EXCEPTIONS . The rates are for individuals showing a car on the show field .

Depending on the response , maybe we can set ourselves up with a tent again this year . THIS YEAR , lets get our shizzle together & get the tent money together early , so I won't have to go around hitting everyone up for wampum (like last year) .

The give-away car this year is a black 1987 Mustang GT convertible with 35,000 miles on the clock .

If anyone's interested , hit me up with a PM
with your mailing address & I'll photocopy the club pre-registration form & send it out to ya . I want this year to be bigger that last year . I will be bringing a charcoal grill , so maybe we can get together & cook dogs , burgers ... or whatever .

More info on this later . I just wanted to let ya'll know early .

I am there!!

The FJers are getting a huget get together there to! Something like 80 foci where there last year, and it seems that like 100+ are goin to be there this year!!

I am goin to try to bring my tour and my focus. if you guys want I can see if i can get us together and get a joint CEG/FJ get together goin on... just a thought, but then again, it is all fords... but, to have a huge foci and tour meetup!! that would be sooo sweet!
LOL very funny Pete. No thats cool I'll make to it . Hopefully I have the new body kit on the car with the new paint job also.

Ummmm....there were only about 10 there.

John, I'm sure your car will be good to go by then.

I'm in, as long as I'm on the east coast

I was there last year with you guys. I'm the guy from Dayton.

Later,

damn.. the way they were talkin on the board last, they where saying more like 80 showed... have to read more into that.. unless you are talking about team-ma?
Posted By: GTO Pete Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '03 ! - 11/27/02 03:12 PM
Yep, that's all we saw. There were 2 huge areas marked "Focus" and there were only a few there!
Posted By: Buddy Palumbo Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '03 ! - 11/29/02 01:26 PM
IIRC , there were roughly 25 Contours there last year . I'm hoping we can beat that this year !

That's probably the Custom Compact Nationals you're thinking of. Thats a big event for FocalJetters. Same location, same month, just a different event. That's probably why there is such a poor showing at the All-Ford Nationals, because all the FocalJet members were already in Carlisle earlier that month.

I met up with a guy from FocalJet yesterday and we were actually talking about this. Last year they had the big Focus event at the compact show. This year they are doing it at all fords. I want to go but I may not be able to because of exams. (stupid quarter system). If I do head up there I will show you all the new (well not at that time) svt.

We did not have enough cars pre-registered last year to get our own Contour class.

ZX2 won, bling-bling Contour took 2nd.

Drexel = 6 months class/6 months coop. I end my coop in the middle of March so I start classes in the end of March. 2 10-week quarters = 6 months of class. It really sucks cause I have a full 10 weeks over the summer.

Is there a daily schedule yet?

I'd like to figure out whether it's worth it to get a hotel room the night before.

Posted By: GTO Pete Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '03 ! - 01/13/03 09:34 PM
We need to pre-register at least 25(?) Contours to get our own class.

Last year we didn't and got stuck with the fugly Escorts.
Posted By: Buddy Palumbo Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '03 ! - 01/14/03 03:54 AM
As of now , I don't have a schedule yet . They should send it out when they finalize everything . Hopefully they'll put it on their site too . I know in the past , they've had the car show ALL 3 DAYS , drag racing on friday evening . They had a swimsuit contest , seminars , country cruise , burnout contest on saturday , as well as a movie on saturday night . Then on sunday they had more seminars , Auto-Crossing , the car show awards ceremony , and the car Give-Away happens sunday afternoon . There's also dyno stuff going all weekend , as well as a HUGE flea market / swap meet happening too .

Keep your eyes peeled !

y2k... thank you. I got my registration forms in the mail the other day.

will be filling them out and getting them out. I have one for the Contour, and one for the focus...
Posted By: smoothy_dup1 Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '03 ! - 01/26/03 07:07 AM
As of right now I think I will only be able to enter the focus in...

But, the contour isnt looking to good as it seems my sister has put a crack in the block since she has been borrowing it!! So, needless to say, I am a lil pissed and discouraged. But at least I will be showing one vehicle, I just hope I get my LEDA COs on by then and the FT front lip on...

Well , I called Carlisle Productions today , we have 18 people registered so far . We need 7 more people , if you haven't registered thusfar ... DO IT !! Online registration is painless . I wanted to get a LIST of people registered , but that guy was away from his desk .

18 people so far isn't that bad . Yea , right . that's less than HALF the registrartion forms we sent out to people ! I'm just a bit dissapointed ...

On a more UP note , I can't wait to see the rest of you guys again this year !!!!

Posted By: SVTFORME2_dup1 Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '03 ! - 03/15/03 01:53 AM
Sorry to see the numbers man! I no you put a lot of time in this. This will be my first meet I will be making an effort to attend. Maybe some guys had some uncontrolable circumstances, but anyway, I would like to thank you for your effort and heading this up.
Posted By: Buddy Palumbo Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '03 ! - 03/16/03 02:20 AM
I really can't take all the credit for the Carlisle registrations & noise that's going on this year . SVT ST PETE has been very instrumental in helping out this year . He sent out a BUNCH of the forms & has been really into keeping the interest up on the forums . I've been sorta in a Contour slump this year , but Pete has been going full steam . Cheers to Pete , from me !

We might still be able to get the tent paid for by Carlisle , if we can get the remaining people signed up before too long . If we can get to the magic 25 , I'm gonna try to work some voodoo to get the tent again . It was surely a nice meeting spot . Maybe I'll work on a better banner for us this year , unless someone has connections & wants to get one made up ?!?! If not , I'll bring the sign from last year .

Hi. I'm new to CEG, and I was wondering what this All-Fords Nationals is all about? Hopefully I'll get some responses to this post. I recently bought a really nice 2000 Contour SVT with only 23k on the clock! I practically stole it! I had always heard about the car and I wanted one when they first came out in 1998 (couldn't afford it), now I've got it! Awesome! Anyway, I'm hoping to hook up with some people in the area that own Contours (I can't believe Ford stopped making them here!) Also, I was wondering if anyone is selling or knows where or how I can obtain an owner's manual for a 2000 SVT? I hear that the owner's manual is only a supplement that goes along with the regular Contour manual. Is there any truth to that? Any comments or information would be appreciated. Please email, PM, or call me at 571-214-5119. I don't mind driving to meet up with anyone or a group. I would love to take this car on a road trip! Thanks!
Posted By: GTO Pete Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. '03 ! - 03/19/03 05:48 AM
Welcome aboard.

The Ford Nationals is more of a car show than anything else.

I didn't think I would enjoy it much last year, but I had a blast meeting fellow CEGers, checking out their rides, swapping ideas, etc.

Most of the Capitol CEGers are driving up early Saturday and leaving Staurday evening.

Check my sig for a link to the online registration.

Posted By: Buddy Palumbo Carlisle All-Ford Nats. ** UPDATE** - 04/24/03 01:35 AM
It was brought to my attention last night (by my brother) that WE HAVE OUR OWN CLASS at Carlisle this year !!!! I got my (club) info packet quite some time ago , but haven't had time to read it (nor did I think I HAD to) .

Under the header "The following classes have been expanded"

Escort ZX2 & Contour SVT - individual classes for each

I realize that it says "Contour SVT" , it should read "Contour and Contour SVT" . I WILL be making a call to ensure that every Contour will be in the same class . I thought I was explicit enough last year about the listing , but I guess I wasn't ... . Anyways , we got it !
This IS NOT an indication that we got the needed 25 cars ... I REPEAT , This IS NOT an indication that we got the needed 25 cars !!!! The flyers were printed up quite some time ago , I'm sure . I've had mine for WEEKS now . When I call about the class info , I will ask about the 25 cars / tent issue . Anyone that pre-registered should be getting a flyer in the mail soon .

I thought you'd like to know as soon as I found out . More info as it becomes available ...
that's awesome, now what about a carpool up there?

it's over sunday, but i don't know when, you should come on saturday with the rest of us. carlisle isn't that exciting in the night life department. what's the deal with the ride up there?
Posted By: Jason43 Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. ** UPDATE** - 04/25/03 12:39 AM
I usually work on saturdays, but if i can change my schedule, I'll be there on saturday.
Well , I spoke to the girl in charge of the club registrations yesterday (via e-mail) . As of yesterday (4-30) , we are still stalled at 22 people . She said that there might be more needing to be processed and I will know more next tuesday (the 6th) . I'm going to check back then to see the final vote on weather we have a tent or not .

I also put in a request to turn the Contour class from listed as a "Contour SVT" class to a general "Contour" or a "Contour / Mystique" class . She said she'd pass it along .

Thanks to all who sent their forms in and registered on time . You guys are great !!!! You're keeping the hope alive for a decent meet at Carlisle , and because of you we got our own class . I am , however disappointed that we even have to think about what count we're at , having sent out 45 pre-registration forms to people .
Sorry guys, I AM definitely going, but I have been dragging my rear to get registered . Will do by Friday. Hopefully I can get all of my car projects completed before the show. So make that 23!

Allen,
You posted on 4/18 that as of 4/14, 22 people registered.

Since that time:
4/16 - 3LPOWER's girlfirend
4/16 - r96se
4/17 - bknauber
4/28 - larsofvt

That should be 4 more on top of the 22.

Yet to register:
2Gsport

After your next count call, if we are one short, I'll head up registering a "Ghost Contour" to get us up to 25.

I'll donate a couple of bucks to this!

sorry for the double-post again ...

I told her that there were a few more that recently registered , but here's the first line of her reply e-mail :
Quote:

Unfortunately our records are still showing 22.

I was dissapointed to see that in the first line . She's been nice enough to give us an extra week to see if any more registrations get processed in the meantime . I even asked her to make sure noone entered C.E.G. as the club , even though I explicitly said to spell out the club , but 22 was all she counted . I'm going to check back next tuesday like she said . Hopefully there will be 3 more entries processed . If not ... hot sun for everyone !

Can someone clarify what the confirmation information is? All I got back from them was another registration form and a brochure about what's happening that weekend.
Posted By: GTO Pete Re: Carlisle All-Ford Nats. ** UPDATE** - 05/02/03 03:28 PM
That just means you're on their mailing list.

You should have gotten a small postcard with info on it confirming your registration....You might want to call Carlilse Productions to confirm they recieved yours.
My event confirmation came in an envelope , although I got more info along with it too . The confirmation postcard-thingy is a tan color , and is 8.5" x 4" (at least mine is) . It says event confirmation right at the top on the front along with you customer ID & junk . On the back is some more info . You need this form to present to the people at the registration building to get your pass to enter the fairgrounds !

If anyone HAS NOT recieved a confirmation card (within a reasonable time-frame) CALL CARLISLE PRODUCTIONS to make sure you're registered . ESPECIALLY anyone who did the first round "club pre-registration" and didn't recieve a confirmation . You guys should definately have yours ! Mine came in 2 days , but that was back in February . I'd say give 'em a few weeks to get you processed (2-3 wks?) .

The phone number for Carlisle Productions is : 717.243.7855
Just FYI, I registered this weekend. See you there!
Well , I got a response from Carlisle . It stated simply ... "You're now at 25 !"

I'm waiting for the response as to weather I need to send the form back or if it can just be typed in . We should have our free tent this year !!

Ha ha, that's hilarious Pete. Great minds think alike. Check the date and time: Why we're cool and they're not.

I just thought it was comical.

Don't worry, The All Ford Nationals is a completely different crowd.

Of course last year there were only a handful of fugly Foci there.
(imo Foci are fugly and riced out around here. flame away)

I'm curious to know from people that have attended the event before as to how you detailed your car when you got there. It's about a 5-6 hour drive for me, and my car is going to be filthy when I get up there. With 44,000 cars, is a car wash an option?

They've got a wash area at the fairgrounds...It wasn't too busy when I was there in 2001. I'm not sure where you got the 44,000 cars...there's maybe 2000-3000 .

Several thousand cars - a bulk of which were Mustangs.

No need to wash for me - a littel Z-6 and I'm good to go.
this is my plan on how to keep mine clean:

Wash and wax or take it to a detailer and get it nice and putry, then, cut a 1' tall and 2' wide hole out of the car cover, and maybe a little area where the mirrors are, and drive up there like that. i see it done all the time on the Enterprise commercials, and if it's done on TV it must be legal.

what's the deal for a convoy up there?

Meant 4000, I think I read it somewhere. Well, either way, I just want to make sure my car looks espically spiffy I can't wait!!

So is drinking allowed up there on the grounds (in our tent?). I don't mean to sound like a drunk, but I wouldn't mind a few brew's early on in the day and then water the rest of the day when it get's hot. I've never been a part of a show like this, so I'm kinda unknowledged.

Heh, I figured and it's better that way anyway. Last thing I need is a bunch of Mustang Rednecks gettin all liquored up and falling all over my "Import" (according to them) 4Door.

I dont know about you guys but I am gettin' psyched for this thing...Just to see what everyone else is doing to/with their Contours is going to be cool...Just looking at Y2K's car and how hes got all that Mondeo stuff on it...and how I've got the only SVT ground effects with 1 exhaust port...aaaggghh but maybe I need to get out more...See you guys at the next meet(if there's one before Carlisle but not including AIS)
