Greetings,

This is going to be my first post on this forum. For starters, I am currently stationed overseas and will be returning back to the states next month towards the end of Feb. I am going to be stationed at Dover, Delaware. I currently own an 85 AE86 Toyota Levin coupe-the last rear wheel drive Corolla before Toyota seriously f-ed up and made them all front wheel drive. Anyhow, that car is going up for sale soon.

I have been looking all over the place on the internet for my next car, and I was at one point very interested in purchasing a 91-92 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 but decided against that because of the high maintenance those cars required. Plus, those cars are pretty old so no telling what the previous owner(s) has put them through.

So I searched around some more and found some information on the Contour SVT and really liked what I read. My first car was an 86 Taurus and that car was a POS, but I'm willing to try out Ford again for the second time. I currently own a 93 Accord SE sedan but I let my sister borrow that car for her time in college. So, I am looking to buy a 99+ Contour SVT preferably silver in color. Black is ok. I have cash readily available and will pay on the spot if I find the one I am looking for. If there is anybody interested in selling their 99+ CSVT, let me know because I want to work with you! Thanks for the space. And to erase any doubts, I am not a "flake": I'm serious.

just curious, why a 99/00?

He's probably looked at the specs for the various years and saw the higher horsepower numbers for those. Not that I'm ragging on him or anything.

There's only one in the area as far as AutoTrader is concerned...a black '98 for (jeez) $3250 and it INCLUDES a motorcycle? Umm...yeah.

Ahh, and if it's the same one showing up on cars.com for $3000, it's got a rod knock. Although for $3 grand, and another $3 grand for a 3-liter and stuff, it might not be all bad.

I might have the car you're looking for. I have a silver 2000 SVT with about 60k miles on it. I'm the only owner and I have all records on the car. My current mods are intake, Wilwood brakes, 17" Centerline RPM wheels, Alpine CD player, Infinity speakers, and a few other things. If you're still interested when you get back let me know and maybe we can work something out.

The main reason why I want a 99+ is that nice 5hp bump. I know, it's not much, but any bit counts for me. I would like to get a y2k model as that's the newest model before Ford axed the Contour line, but hey, maybe I'm asking too much but anyways, is there anybody here who lives around the Delaware area? What's it like? My home of record is Arkansas and I'm wondering what this region of the US is like.

Silversvts, I got you down on my list man! I will be contacting you shortly!

It's about as unlike Arkansas as you can get. I can say that much.

Arkansas aint that bad. It's got great fishing spots and some good scenery. I heard that Dover has a NASCAR track, so if that's the case, at least I got something to look forward to. What about tuning shops? And decent ones around this part of the states?

You are going to be in a cost of living shock and traffic shock. Once you get those two out of the way, you should be all right. There is everything in the DC Metro area. Its just how long it takes you to get there (see traffic).

I know a little about Arkansas...I lived in Memphis for several years and trekked into our neighbor to the west a few times. I was thinking more along the lines of climate and topography, but once you get past that, esp. if fishing and scenery are your thing , you oughta be pretty happy being that close to the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Delaware is in an interesting geographic location, too...not that far from Philly or Baltimore, and then DC and NYC are just a little further away in either direction. If you can't find ANYTHING you want, you're just not looking.

Dover isn't nearly as bad as the DC-Bmore area.
