Anyone want a 3.0L CSVT for a decent price? It will be a helluva deal. Just curious.
Hmm....Does it even run?
Yup. And I'm quite serious (minus the buck fity comment).
You got the shift cable situation resolved?
What's wrong with it....<insert suspicion here>...
Is it resolved? no. Do I know how to get it resolved? Yes, and that is in the works.
The car was broken into, yet again. I plan on having everything fixed. Maybe by then, I will be out of the selling mood, but most likely not.
You'll have to help me get mine resolved.
AGAIN?
What did they steal this time?
What kind of price range you looking at?
As far as I know, only thing stolen was the stereo...that replaced the stereo that was stolen last september, that replaced the stereo that was stolen out of my 93 SHO. Broke the dash bezel and my passenger mirror, and I'm asuming they unlocked the car with a hammer via a window.
I'd probably let it go for 6500. God knows I have more than that into the motor/tranny in the last year. 7k on the tranny/motor and probably 10 miles on the clutch / flywheel in the car now.
Maybe you are being targeted. Knowing you, you probably have quite a few enemies.
If you decide to sell it, good luck. Let me know what kind of parts you have lying around.
Damn, dude, move already.
LOL car is back in Indiana this time.....
You need to get one of those James Bond exploding car alarms. Either that or paint over the "Steal My Stuff!" logos on the body panels.
It got broken into in indiana?
That sucks.............
Bastards! I hate thieves and I think if we catch someone stealing we should cut off a finger or two or even a hand. Depending on the severity of the theft. Sorry man.
RT,
Let me know if you are interested in swapping engines etc before you sell it. In all honesty, you would probably get relatively close to the same amount since it is damaged. Let me know ASAP if you are interested in at least talking about it.
Mike
I'll probably end up keeping the turd for the time being. I'm just tired of all the BS that has been associated with the car. I love the car, yet hate it at the same time. In the last 3 years, I've put 7k miles on the car and had it for 6 months where I could drive / enjoy it. I've got the car almost to where I want it, to do want I want with it (open road racing).
My offer still stands for a space to put a 3.0L together though.
I'm in the process of sourcing a motor for the project. My biggest debate is go simple or do the UIM/LIM and SVT cams on the 3.0. This is my daily driver and need to get her done as quickly as possible in terms of start to finish. At this point, a stock 3.0 would be better than the smoke machine I am driving. My biggest reservation with the cams is the sprocket issue.
You can use the cams on the 01+ 3.0L heads, however the heads will need to be modified to use hte 2.5L LIM. It all just depends on what 3.0L you get and it's condition.
On a relatively stock swap, I don't think the oval port 3.0L out performs the hybrid. If you could source some decent used 2.5L SVT heads and get'em cleaned up and a decent used 3.0L shortblock would be the best / easiest route IMO.

I'd like to see an oval port on a Mustang Dyno.
I'd like to see some local 3L's at the track!
Is the Hybrid relatively simple to do- relative to porting and swapping cams etc. Honestly, I would prefer a hybrid set up. easiest IMO. I have the SVT heads already. This route may allow me to get some headers as well which I would like to do at the same time.

How 'bout a full 3L turbo?
you can used the MSDS headers either way you go. Cams fit both sets of heads (assuming 01+ 3.0L heads). I think for the average DIY the hybrid is easier, although you still retain the oil issue with thh 2.5L heads.
Quick, if i ever get my turd back down here I plan on taking it to the track more than a few times.
