So down around Portland we have the Woodburn drags; drags at Portland Internat'l Raceway; track days for the 1.9 mile road course at PIR; and go-karts somewhere.

Up around the Puget Sound area I hear there's a drag track (where is it?), and I have no idea of what else is up that way, including toward BC.

I've yet to check football and baseball schedules. (It's about time the White Sox pitchers woke up.) But it seems we need to figure out fast if we want to try soon having one big meet around Portland; or one big meet around the Sound; or one of each on different dates. I love BC, but doing the round trip from Portland in a day leaves little time to actually meet up or do much.

If someone likes Portland, what dates are "nominated" to be avoided? And what about dates to avoid for something close to Seattle, so maybe a few Oregon cars can make it up? And doing what? Racing? Mixing with other traffic on mountain drives? Beer, pizza and wrenches? And do locally active Focus and Cougar clubs exist?

The drag strips up here are Pacific Raceway in Kent (South of Seattle) and Mission in BC.

I was thinking Labor Day Weekend...

On 9/2/06 I'm booked to grill for 20. I'm also shot for the following 9/9-10 weekend. But I'm only one person, maybe those dates work for a bunch of other people. I'm open on 9/3 and 9/4.

So Mike, you are off from both of your jobs for Labor Day weekend?

And Derk, I'm sure we owe you a beer to welcome you to the neighborhood.

Has anyone heard from Qbert? There is/was recently a T-red CSVT on Craigslist close to Portland.

I would like to get together. I would also be willing to drive down south towards the portland are aswell. If it comes down to it I can open my house for a bbq. I know that I am far from the Portland guys but It could be a good meeting place for the BC guys also.

I take my certification exam on 9/5 (6 hr test of sheer joy ). I'll be spending the weekend prior studying.

I leave for CA (wedding) on 9/23 or 24 and don't return until sometime around 10/14. We're, unfortunately, spending 2 weeks in Kaua'i for our honeymoon.

Those are dates that don't work for me. Again, I'm only one person...and I don't even own my contour any more. But, it'd be fun to meet up with you guys again.

I'll keep my eye on this thread.

Sat., Sept. 9 I'm busy, but other days should work. I'd prefer a Saturday to Sunday, but could prolly do a Sunday if it'd work better for others.

I could go for a beach, mountain or eastern OR/WA drive, go-karts, etc.

I'm busy Sept. 1-4, but I think the rest are open for now. I prefer Saturdays too, but I could probably pull-off a Sunday.

I'm good for most any weekend. I need it on a Sat (I work nights Sun-Thur) as I am sleeping on Sun.

So no one else around Olympia-Tacoma-Seattle-Everett (besides tjbugs1 and Mike Shotwell) has any interest?

Or no one wants to risk being distracted from the Seahawks?

Don't everyone pipe up at once...

Unless there is more input from further up North (So how about it, guys?), I guess I can forget about me going up to the Puget Sound area for a meet...

And that implies doing something around closer to Portland on 9/16/06 is the way to go.

Meanwhile: Mike, are you likely to be around Vancouver for the Labor Day weekend?

I have to work that weekend. Actually I work every weekend now

On Labor Day I'll be driving out to Spokane and back. Picking up another Monte Carlo...yay!

Mike, while it may be nice for you to own a different Monte for every day of the week, please do not apply that logic for every day of the month. How's progress coming on your multiple car projects?

Marty, what's this about Qbert and a blown 3.0L?
In a Contour or a Focus?
And when is he gonna be a regular on the CEG boards again?
Was the "Foci" turbo'd Focus at the track last night?
Has he gotten drag radials yet?

Meanwhile, if there may be a possible meet going on up around Issaquah on 9/9/06, how about 9/16/06 for closer to Portland? Who wants in?

About doing a Portland G2G, I'm OK with doing a drive or go karts (though I must be carrying 80 lbs of ballast compared to Marty). We often have dogs boarding with us on weekends, but if no one has an aversion, I could offer use of my yard and gas grill for doing burgers. Or there's always beer and pizza places or a McMenamin's. Or I could shop for a group rate at a local dyno?

Followed by a Saturday evening at the PIR night drags?

Marty, I'm sorry I did not catch your PIR posting about last night in time to take you up on your laptop/link package.

Buying Offroadsvt's car, questions for you guys...

I don't think he was there. A dude with a blue GTO was there, and he was haulin'! I'm not sure if it was the same guy/car we talked to last time or not. Also, there was a black late-model 'Vette there that sounded like it had a turbo. He was running ~125 MPH! It was a great night to be running! There were not too many people racing, and it seemed like in around 10-15 minutes cars were doing another run! Awesome weather for spectating too -- I had a tank top on 'til I left at 11 and was comfortable.

Unfortunately I'm already booked on the 9th, but I think the 16th will work for me! Drive, go-karts, drags -- any of that works for me!

No problem, it was kinda short notice, but I thought I'd bring it along in case you could make it.
