Anyone personally changed out their shifting forks. Both my sport and my svt are having problems with 3/4 gear's fork. I need to swap them out to make my life whole again. How much did you get away with doing it for and what all did it involve. Do I have to mess a lot with the transmission. Or what. I know there are anwsers on here but I want local experience from the guys I trust. Who won't just yell search.
Well I was gonna go that route, but I picked up a BAT trans. If you can wait until around the end of June I will have the old trans out of mine. It was diagnosed as a clutch disengagement problem. But I guess if your gonna be in there you would want to change them out to the upgraded forks from Ford. I contacted bugzuki a couple of months ago about helping me with swapping the forks, but now I am just gonna replace it with the new one from BAT. But as far as doing just the forks he is the only person I know of that has done it.

You have to remove the tranny and open it up. From what I understand, the shift forks are very easy to replace, but of course pulling the tranny is a bit of work. The how-to's in the tranny section are pretty thorough so if you have the time and tools, it's not beyond a DIY job. The forks are about $25 each.
I was hoping not to have to pull the tranny. not fun work on our cars from what I have heard.
More work then I want to do so I will probably let her go sometime this year.
Not sure yet. I owe $4500 still. Not sure if I will sell it out right our trade it in and get burned. I hate having car payments!!! errr.
Yeah, pulling the transmissions on these things is a huge ordeal, trust me, I've done it on my own. There is so much crap that has to be removed even before you get to the transmission it isn't even funny. If you don't have a two car garage you definitely will struggle due to space constraints of having to store the subframe while you remove the transmission. It is a good day to get it out and a good day to get it back in using hand tools.
I am going next week to see how much it will cost to get someone to fix it. If its still to much for me. I will be selling soon and getting a new car. Which means both cars will be up for sale.
wow i was just looking at the saturn sky redline. mmm that looks nice. Think i will go test drive the regular one as I am not sure when the redline comes out. I like it though. I saw the soli. at work and didn't like it but I do like the saturn version of it much better.
A guy that comes into where I work just bought a Ion Redline. All he has is a smaller pulley(14psi) and drop in K&N and he ran a 14.4.

not bad. I am not really a fan of the ion due to the center gauges lol. Not a bad looking car though.
If you thought we had [censored] cup holders, this car has none!
mmm projectors
After driving a Sebring (puke) convertible in Boston last week, I remebered how much I love 'verts.
However, the Saturn can lick my nutsack, I want a real car.
I think my next car will be a convertible though. I am getting close to mid-life crisis age.
