I have a 2000 SE 2.5 that needs shocks on the front, and probably new LCAs and strut bearings. This seems like a minimum $550 job for labor alone on the shock installation, even more with the LCAs thrown in, two quotes already. Does anyone have experience doing this work in the greater Seattle area? Recommendations? This is turning out to be big $. This isn't an Audi or BMW, where one would expect huge MX costs.

Ideas?

Your right it does cost alot, but so does most all the other work we need or may need to get done on our cars. I know on my S10 it cost me about $600 or so for labor. I had the work done at Les Schwab and they did a good job.

Sounds like a garage job to me. Where are you located?

Haven't done LCA's or Strut bearings but I have replaced all the Springs in a few hours. I had a good air compressor that I was using. I may be able to get ahold of another if you are near Bellingham.
