ok i had my od light blink for about 2-3 months now and i kinda ignored it. recently, my contour has been reving really high before shifting gears. i have a 97 contour v6 auto, can anyone help me out here? i looked this up and im going to change the tss and see if that helps.

I really don't know. Sounds to me like a toasted trans, but I don't do Ford FWD transmissions. Try posting this in the trans forum. Those guys have a working knowledge and should be able to help you. It could be something simple.

Sounds like the torque converter.

I'm not from the NW, but I wanted to say that I agree.. TQ_Conv, etc.


The codes can be retreived while flashing, if you have a live scanner hooked up while driving (tranny shops will do this for you as part of a driving diagnosis...)

That's a great idea! Most reputable tranny shops will give you a free estimate. Call around and see what you can do.
