Has just arrived at Street Flight. I was given the call today so tomorrow I will go by and take some pictures. Po'Jay has agreed (with some arm twisting) to be the guinea pig for the project. Hope to have some data soon.

I'm sure Pojay is just agonizing at having an intercooler!

Sounds good though.
BTW I just called Keith a little while ago and gave him some good news on my intercooler temps. I'll post a separate thread.

What's the deal? What do you mean testing? Isn't buckshot going to do that or did he do something I don't know about
Posted By: 95Mike_dup1 Re: Buckshot S/C intercooler - 06/18/03 03:26 AM
You guys need to move from AZ to the northwest and use me as a guinea pig. Isn't it too hot down there?

anybody know how to get ahold of buckshot? i need my TB optimized soon.

No ME ME ME ME ME!! You need New England climate changes to really test that thing....

You mean something like going to Buckshot Motorsports DOT CALM or emailing him at buckshot77@aol.com, or by pressing the PM button???

Rick's engine is down again Jesse. It's got an internal noise that we couldn't quite figure out with the valve cover or pan off. I thought it happened when he gave you a ride?
Posted By: warmonger_dup1 Re: Buckshot S/C intercooler - 06/18/03 12:40 PM
Man I'm looking at your mod list and you have a nice car!

I'm sure that intercooler will help the vortech kit out immensely.

edit:

Yeah Jesse, YOU are BAD F'in LUCK!

They probably wanted dyno proof you know. Good proof will make it sell much better when you are talking about a high dollar item. PoJay is close to the dyno and they have all that data already on supercharged vortech contours and turbo ones.

Yeah it happened then, but I thought maybe he didn't need the SC IC because he maybe needed a..mmmmm...a TC IC

I'm not bad luck buckshot is the unlucky one!

brad, i did PM him and email him, it just took him a few days to get back to me, but he emailed me today.

Yes, I am supposed to go to the dyno this evening and try it out. I have some minor crap to work out with my car first. I have an EGR Valve issue and murky looking coolant. Not to mention the 3rd gear synchro that is headed in the direction of the Albatross (gonna try to switch to Redline Synth Tranny Fluid). I am hoping that this IC will prove as efficient as Tom's has. Then I will get on the list to purchase one (at a small discount''*hint-hint*). We will share the information as soon as we discover it. Paying $35 to fill my tank is getting old. I wanna go back to straight pump-gas, at least occaisionally.

Well my origional donor car had a misfortune that took it down for quite a while. I have found a new volunteer(I think) and we should be able to get some numbers soon. I took pictures and sent them to Rick. Email him to see them.

Buckshot, wheres the port for your intake air temperature sensor?

I thought we've pretty much agreed that you want the air temp measured right as it enters the TB in order to provide the PCM the most accurate value so it can make accurate timing and fuel adjustments?

To make it easier, I took my iat and cleaned the little plastic retaining lip off the end and then treated it like a bolt. Keith and I threaded it with a die (approx. 3/8") or something close, then tapped a hole into the exit tank in order to mount it. It works awesome for measuring temps and allowed me to determine the efficiency of my intercooler.
I made a small silicone gasket for it and then screwed it in tightly.
I can snap a picture for you if you like.
Posted By: Buckshot77_dup1 Re: Buckshot S/C intercooler - 07/07/03 12:09 PM
Tom, my IAT is actually IN the TB housing. The problem with the initial design is that the outlet tube was too short to allow for mounting the IAT sensor. So, in the redesign I'm addressing that issue.

Thanks,
Rick

I see.

Well it looks really good so far! I really want to see it work well for the vortech guys because I think the kit has more potential that what we're seeing most of the time.
BTW hows the car?
Posted By: bnoon_dup1 Re: Buckshot S/C intercooler - 07/07/03 02:10 PM
When I talked to Rick last week, the car had pretty much been untouched since it's last hiccup. The engine is still in the car (possibly broken) .
Posted By: Buckshot77_dup1 Re: Buckshot S/C intercooler - 07/07/03 05:36 PM
I pulled the engine yesterday. No chance to tear down and diagnose yet, but hopefully later this week.

Let me know when it will be ready. thanks. You can count me in on a group buy when you are ready. Thanks
Posted By: Keyser Soze Re: Buckshot S/C intercooler - 07/15/03 03:51 AM
I swear I'm trying to get this done guys. My donor car had an unfortunate accident and I am coordinating with a second.
Posted By: KnuKonceptz_dup1 Re: Buckshot S/C intercooler - 07/15/03 05:26 AM
You can use mine but it would need to be put back together and shipped to you But you could then fab up the 3L Upper oultet needed for my I/C at the same time
