i have a 2000 se atx zetec with 27,xxx miles, the car has been driven lightly, the thing is that i want to buy the turbo from performance fords when it comes out. My question is if anyone knows anyone else that makes turbos for our zetec, and what other mods do i have to do when i put them on?
demon dynamics makes a turbo kit for the zetec. im not sure if its compatible with the atx. contact terry haines.
1turbofocus also make a kit for the contour. He comes on this site occasionally. Dont think he has a website.

Your car should be fine as long as it is low boost(5-7psi). The ATX won't handle much more than that. Just remember start with low boost........Level Ten = high boost.

why are you scared to try it? I would be excited as hell, but not scared?
im pretty sure that stage one from DD is about 2.9k maybe 3k max. at least thats what i was quoted last year...

Im new to the board but not to 1 turbo foucs hes on the focus board as well his kit is expensive no doubt but he's got everthing worked out in that kit it is the safest kit around for these motors. As far as the tranny i ve researched this it will not handle the turbo (the auto) there is compnay called levelten.com that makes a kit to rebulid the auto tranny to withstand more power. but the turbo will toast stock tranny quick. Its rated at like 120ftp of torque or smothing like that its rated right at waht the car puts out stock so even bolt mods can become a problem if you go as far as cams and boost the hp to a number to high i dont know about the V6 Tranny but the 4cyl tranny cant handle it. I have autos and was wondering the same thing.
P.S. 1turbocous kits have pushed the ZX3 focus to 13.8 Seconds at 104 MPH on more than 1 car and there still drivable thats pretty good if you ask me.
yo buddy to my knowledge the ATX in the 4banger and V6 are the exact same CD4E, both rated to 200 ft.lbs
he's pushed into to 113mph+ & 13.9x as well. and tranny can take up to 200ft lbs, and a little more for a while.
Toms turbo is running 12.54 @ 115, and he has like 435fwhp!!
but it is $5,200!! But then again it is the complete and is capable of producing the most hp gains out of any t/c kits out there to date, so far...

Yeah i was thinking of the Focus. But i still dont think the ATX in these cars could handle upwards of 200HP without some work.
If you go easy on it, it might. But if you have a heavy foot as most do, if they put a t/c on it, I wouldnt expect it to hold very long at all...
