Rule of thumb, for every 50-60 "shot" setting, retard timing 2-3 degrees. That will get you in the safe zone ... after that, get her on a dyno and tune the timing for the most power with a little cushion for safety

Looks like you've found a way to get to your 3L even quicker....
Posted By: Stazi Re: nitrous - 11/29/05 12:05 AM
The first kit I've heard of that has half the sh!t missing. I'm not even goign to touch the rest of the post - this guy is clueless.

Yea, thats what I hinted at in my post...he'll get to his 3L quicker cause after his 2.5L blows, he'll need an engine. hehe, I tried to not be so blunt about it tho...

You can run a 75 shot on that kit without any timing changes.
You have everything but the bottle and the jets...I don't know if I saw a bottle heater though. Bottle heater is very important.
Price is right but I'd look into a fuel pressure cutoff solenoid too.

"Do unto others as thou wouldst have done unto yourself"

It is up to you to decide, and act based on that.. not on the actions of others... this goes for anyone.

Condolences, and prayers to your family during your stressful time.

LMAO - I wouldn't bet on that.

You're a trip - putting the nitrous kit in your signature when half of it is missing and it obviously isn't installed.

Quit with the e-thuggin', it's laughable.

Hey guys I have a prostreet car I built ..I know everything about cars....where's the oil filter???

Seriously there have been so many posts like this lately it's sickening. You get on here ask a basic question; get it answered, but not the way you want it to be answered, and all of the sudden you know everything?

Come on...even if you do know all about nitrous, it makes you look immature when you fight back that you know more about cars than everyone.
Posted By: posthuman63t Re: nitrous - 11/29/05 05:02 PM
1. You dont know me, or Stazi, so to say you know more about cars than both of us combined is simply rediculous.
2. I never said nitrous blows up engines. With all the parts you have listed their is no managemnet system of any kind, so it's fair to say, your in a for a world of hurting.
3. If it wasn't for any criticism, then you would not understand your doing something wrong. When I do something wrong, I like it when someone corrects me, regardless of their approach.
4. I guess since you know how to slap a nitrous kit on a truck and make it run...whatever...that means you know everything about cars? I doubt that.
5. You have my prayers with the family situation, but it doesn't need to be added to this thread. It has nothing to do with the above postings.

Have a nice day.

hahahaha that one got me laughing, maybe if you knew what you were doing then you would have got a bottle warmer, and run a smaller shot. But i guess you know everything... Tool.

That doesn't mean you know much about cars. Same goes for my buddy that ghetto-rigged a nitrous kit to his 97 S-10 SS and ran a 13.7. But the fact that he blew up 3 intake manifolds, blew out his hood and fender, shattered his K&N FIPK into 50 pieces, and still continued to run the juice just goes to show that any yahoo can strap on a nitrous kit and be fast.

Thats BS and you know it. If you post a ? and someone comes on here and posts "you idiot, you have to be the dumnest f'ing person on the planet, you shouldnt have the right to own a car your so stupid."
You would be a little pissed to say the least. Now obviosly your respons to this guy wasnt that bad, But it was very sarcastic.
Didnt your mom tell you "if you dont have anthing nice to say, dont say anything at all"
Posted By: posthuman63t Re: nitrous - 11/30/05 02:15 AM
Actually, I searched on the forums for about a year before I made a post. So while some of my previously asked questions may have been common knowledge to a veteran of CEG regarding th contour, they weren't in any way a stupid question, or one that i didn't look for, before I had asked. Do I get mad if I'm flamed? No...why would I? If you can't take it, don't dish it out.

And what about me.
I told you that you didn't need to pull any timing with a 75 wet shot...and that's from personal experience.

Last time I'm volunteering anything....

Just so ya know, most of the guys on this forum will definately show you up on cars and i bet a few of them could even build an engine with duct tape and a couple cases of beer....

Firstly, good luck runnin that large of a shot with the stock 98' fuel pump...

Secondly, you NEED a bottle warmer. Nitrous without a bottle warmer is like peein into the wind, its pretty much just a bad idea.

And thirdly, listen to what others are sayin, you may not like it but most of it is true...

If you need a nitrous bottle
Just go see Harry
And overnight them
from Japan
That will get you
To go as fast as you can
