I have a 2003 Sable 3L block with oval port heads with 1999 SVT cams in them. We lined up the factory marks on the timing chains (the wider chains) to the marks on the front of the cam gears, and then cranked the engine over to check valve/piston clearance. The thing is, the marks never lined up again until roughly 50-75 cranks later. In my attempt to use simple logic, it seems like they should line up every 4 cranks. Is this how it's supposed to be, though? I searched and searched, and searched some more, but to no avail.

Actually yes, I do want to hear from other people just to make sure, and let me feel comfortable with it before all the bolts go in.

Yes, it takes about 50 revolutions to get the timing marks all back on the same spot.
