Terry has a design on CAD for a straight 3L swap. I know that a few people have had issues with leaking fuel rails. If you do got one brazed correctly whats not to say that it won't in the future? Now this isn't going to be something cheap. If you want quality you're going to have to pay for it. It's a bit cheaper than a car up in flames though.

I think like most people ... it will depend largely on hard numbers. Remember, we have deep pockets and short arms

$250 on the LOW end. Maybe some Cougar guys would be interested. Have any of them done straight swaps yet?

Not that I would need one but I think $250 is cheap insurance for a total project loss.

Pics?
Is it completely machined? I just want to get an idea before I commit to anything

Kind of hard to take pics of something that has yet to become reality. The point of this point is to gauge interest. $ will be collected up front. Terry is getting bit like the CEG sway bar incident where everyone wanted and when it came time to pay the piper they up and vanished like a fart in the wind. Terry was left holding the bag.

250$ is worth it. I think if you build this people will buy it. The oval port 3L swap is nice nice swap. I contacted terry about this a while ago...I def want one!

ive talked to terry about this over a year ago when i was having my fuel rail problems initially... if the piece is going to be quality, there should be no reason not to pay top dollar.

Just for comparison WRX billet rails retail starting at about 400 bucks.
Posted By: tropictour Re: Machined fuel rail interest? - 04/08/06 10:39 PM
I would pay $250 just for piece of mind.

$250 is a very legit price for a custom billet rail that has all the fittings and is high pressure tested.

I don't need one personally though.

Yeah, I have to pull my rail off again...maybe I can get it this time...sigh:
Posted By: WorldTour_dup1 Re: Machined fuel rail interest? - 04/10/06 10:36 PM
Will it be available in both return & returnless?

And it has to also have provisions for pre98 and post98 since those are different as well. I'll ask Terry. I need to know who is ready to pony up the $$.

This could be a nice piece for people needing a fuel rail, but how many people are even building a 3L at this moment? How many of those people are building one that needs this type of fuel rail? I'm guessing there are ~5 people on here building a 3L at the moment. Maybe 2 of them are going to need a custom fuel rail? Sure, those couple of people will probably be interested, but it's probably not the number you guys are looking for. You just can't expect 20 people, let alone 10 to be in on this. For 3L builder's sake, I hope this happens, but don't be surprised if less than a handful commit.

I'd like to at least get 3-4. I hope more will want one in the future. Not too many straight swaps out there.

Pete, Biggers, JD, Nima, and I are it I think.

I'd be interested, depending on when it would actually be available. If I have to do my own now, then I probably won't bother changing it afterwards; But if its available
soon, I'd be all over it.

And again, I am interested in this.
Posted By: WorldTour_dup1 Re: Machined fuel rail interest? - 04/11/06 03:44 PM
I'm interested, however, I won't be starting my 3L project for quite some time.
Posted By: 96BlackSE Re: Machined fuel rail interest? - 04/11/06 03:54 PM
I'll be up for one if it'll be available soon

Ditto the sooner the better!

i was interested in this a while ago, but since nothing took off after it had first been mentioned i decided to take matters into my own hands. esp since the whole burning 3L event...
Posted By: tropictour Re: Machined fuel rail interest? - 04/11/06 10:59 PM
I wont be building a 3L for a while either. But if this is a one time deal I will find a way to get one. I surely dont want my SVT going up in flames.

Well, I will be going to 3L soon, hopefully prior to SZ if everything goes properly (yeah right . . . lol)

We can get an install party. Stazi, todd, JD, dale, and whommever else knows their stuff + a keg of miller lite = good times!

No better way to learn than to watch. Just get a warm night and some flood lights.

i am inviting myself.
Posted By: Rara_dup1 Re: Machined fuel rail interest? - 04/12/06 05:09 AM
LOL, you guys kill me . . .

Actually the thing that may delay it, is that I have three races between now and SZ, two of which are on the west coast, and I will be driving the rig for those two . . . Plus I have a few things I'd like to do that will require parts to be sent out for a couple weeks.

But, have no fear, I will drag all your sorry butts over to my house to finish this thing up when the time comes, lol.
And, despite being an evil non-beer-drinker, I will supply beer to all who provide real help, and are of legal drinking age, lol.

I'm in for a machined fuel rail.
Posted By: Stazi Re: Machined fuel rail interest? - 04/12/06 02:09 PM
I'm gonna rip out my donk in the next week or two - I don't have much time left till SZ and I CANNOT return with the same shiz that I had last year!
Posted By: todras_dup1 Re: Machined fuel rail interest? - 04/12/06 02:15 PM
And your point?
Posted By: Stazi Re: Machined fuel rail interest? - 04/12/06 02:27 PM
I was jumping on the band wagon - bite me bish!
Posted By: todras_dup1 Re: Machined fuel rail interest? - 04/12/06 02:43 PM
LOL! I didn't know if you wanted in or not. You didn't state anything.
