Contour Enthusiasts Group Archives
I've been hawking these a lot w/ the focus peeps, and i'd thought i'd let you all know too (if you didn't already)

I have been working w/ Rota wheel in making special runs of the 4x108 HUBCENTRIC bolt pattern that fits the pre 91 escort/EXP, Tempo, Topaz, Contour, 99 up Cougar, and Focus.

Presently, I have a 16"x7" (13 lbs) slipstream (bronze) and 17"x7.5" attack (steel grey) done and in stock, and the following are on their way as well

15x6.5 slipstream in silver and black (12 lbs)
17x7.5 attack in black w/ polished lip (16 lbs)
17x7.5 subzero in steel grey w/ polished lip (17 lbs)

With the exception of the first run 16" Slipstreams, all wheels are hubcentric to the Ford hub bore - most aftermarket alloy wheels are oversize here to accomodate a larger variety of applications, but Rota was willing to give this a go. I am the exclusive distributor for this wheel.

Prices are as follows:
15" - $112.50 ea ($450 set)
16" - $125.00 ea ($500 set)
17" - $148.75 ea ($595 set)

If you'd like pics besides whats at http://www.rotawheels.com or http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4291635661 or want to reserve a set, contact me at zxtuner@hotmail.com

Thanks,
Rob Green
Your album doesn't work and they don't list the slipstream on there website!

What are the offset of the 17X7.5 wheels, I'd be interested, but I need offset in the 42mm+ range. . .

Suneil
Damn that is light, are those suckers forged?
The album link is working on my end - it's a little slow to load tho...

Here's a pic of the slipstreams (hope it works):

offset is 40mm for the 15's and 16's, and 45mm for the 17's.

Rob
not forged - they're pressure cast. Actually pretty strong too. I ran over a control arm on the freeway w/ a set w/o any incidence.

the Miata and WRX SCCA crowd have flocked to this wheel quite a bit - and it's held up quite well. I know it meets the JIS and DOT specs.

Rob
Well, the offset is right, so I won't worry about rubbing. I have 13in rotors in the front (Baer Track system), will they fit? They currently fit my Enkei RS5's which are 17X7 with a 40mm offset, should I measure and send you specs? Or do you know off hand if 13in rotors + a heft caliper would fit underneath?

I'm in on these, I just need to figure out what the attacks look like (the website doesn't have them), and figure out what would look best. . .

That link to page with better pics

I Would take Bronze or silver Rota attack in 17x7.5!!
If they can custom drill me a set I'LL buy them next week when I get paid!!!
Theu should make battle and circuit 8 too. Well any of those three in bronze or silver will do for me!!
Hey Rob,
These wheels are listed at $550 for a set of 4 at www.massimoperformance.com (or whatever the link is up there). . .

Would you match that?

Suneil
I would imagine if the enkeis clear, so will the Rotas. Here's a pic of the steel grey attacks:

These wheels are custom run and they cost me a little more than the 4x100 or 5x100 variety Rota normally sells. I have to place a 40pc order of one particular style/color to get these in.

Rob
Ugh, they're ALL gorgeous!! I don't know what to get...
I need 16" to put 225 drag radials on, to be used with wheel spacers to fit the Wilwood kit.
I liked the subzeros and circuit 8's.
You need wheelspacers do fit your wilwoods? I hope I won't need them to clear my Baers, I don't have any wheelspacers right now. . .I like all of them too, But since i already have the Enkei RS5's (5 spoke design), I decided I'd go for the Subzero's (multispoke), would look cool with a set of big brakes behind them, if they clear . . .15inch inner diameter will just barely make it.

I was informed by certain knowledgeable individuals that to fit Wilwoods under 16" wheels, I will/probably need spacers. That and I want to give 225's a try...
didn't realize you were running 16's, my bad. . .
I don't think u should need spacers if u go with Rota subzero. 17 x7.5 come with 45 or 48 offset!
Nice.
which Rota's are available in our lug pattern???? My friend just got some of the slipstreams for his Civic......look just like spoon wheels! Me likey!!!

Look at the very first post, Rob put the list of wheels available there.....the Spoon copies are the Slipstream.
i had a set of gunmetal rota subzeros on my RSX for a couple of months - i think rotas are among the best bang-for-the-buck wheels on the market. lightweight, relatively strong, and they usually look pretty good. their center cap design is a little hideous, but other than that...the wheels are nice. grassroots motorsports magazine had a very positive article about 'em not too long ago.

fwiw, the attacks are patterned after the new rays engineering gram lights; the subzeros are patterned after the racing hart cp-035; and the slipstreams, like dion said, are patterned after the spoon sw388.

if i still had my contour, i'd probably be jumping on a set of the gray attacks or subzeros....very nice indeed.
and here's a pic of the attacks in black w/polished lip.
