I got the 225/50R16s on this week, and the mold release is worn off.

16x7 Motegi MR12, 225/50R16 Falken Azenis 615, Konis with 525/425 lb/in GCs, Aussie rear bar. -2* front camber, -1.5 rear, 0 toe all around.

Fit: not bad. Fills the wheelwell all the way, and it's close to the stut and fender but doesn't rub at all.

Comfort: Pretty stiff, and really, really loud. I mean REALLY loud.

Transients: repsonds pretty linearly and quickly. I'm at 40psi all around but I'll probably go 40-45f and 35r, which should help.

Steady-state: mad grip, nice breakaway. Almost zero tread squirm unshaved. A real improvement over 205/55 MXs.

Accel/braking: Once they spin/slide, there's not much to do but get off it and let them hook up again. Pretty decent grip though. These are VERY heavy tires (~25lbs) and hurt acceleration, but the extra grip seems to be worth it. I imagine I'll be faster on corner exit than the MXs due to lack of wheelspin, but only the clock will tell for sure.

Overall seat-of-the-pants impression? Hardcore tire. It feels really good and I can't wait to push it. Divisionals this week will be the real test... results on Monday!

Do you know how much the RT-215 in that size weighs? I thought the 615 was supposed to be lighter and more quiet than the 215.

I don't know how much the 215s weighed.

Basically, they grip like mad. They're still pretty loud. They're very good in the rain at full tread - way better than the MXs. You do have to spray them if they're for autocross, though. They just love to be cold.

Um, nevermind the loud part. It was the junkyard hubs I was running, not the tires. They're actually a good bit quieter than the MXs.
