Ok i currently have 215-45-17's on my car.

I am looking for more compfort since i live in michgan, 2 rims bent so far.

So i am looking for a thicker tire.

Since i dropped my car with eibachs, i guess i can;t go too tall, so leave the rally racing out of this one.

I was thinking of going with 235-45-17 checked the tire calculator and it found i would be 1.6% off, instead of going 60mh i would be going 61mph, no big diff,

Do u think 235-45-17 would work nicely or go to 225-45-17?
or maybe 225-50-17?

so'
A. 225-45-17
B. 225-50-17
C. 235-45-17

???

I'm in the same boat with lousy roads, and needing tires for my 17s. 225/45/17 is probably the best bet for saving your rims. I bent a rim on 215/45/17 Falken 512's. 235/45/17 will be too tall. I think what you meant was 235/40/17. That equals nearly the same height as original (24.9"). But 235/40 will really only work on a +7.5" wide wheel.

I'm leaning towards Kuhmo ASX 225/45/17s on my 17x7.5 ATS Comp Lites...and Falken 615s (225/50/15) on my track wheels.

no i meant the 235-45-17 series, i don;t mind having a little tall of a tire, i guess? as long as i don;t keep benting my wheels.

Its not tha tmuch taller, wheel calculator measured stock wheels at 60mph and the 235-45-17 at 62.4 mph.

Sooo? who knows just fishing for idea's really.

225/45/17. Pleanty of sidewall, still looks good, and handles great.

Oh, but you will. Its .6" taller, and .5" wider than a 225 tire. You're gonna rub for sure.

For example...I tried to run a 215/60/15 for a winter tire (hey, they were free) and I rubbed like a bioooooootch. On the metal piece of the fender.

i had 205-50-16, with monster azz winter tread no rub.

maybe 225-45-17. hmm

i like your opinion guys this is helping me determine what i will get.

many tks!!

i think 225/45 would be a great daily driver size. 235/40 from what i've seen has a lower load rating than 225/45 but higher than 215/45.

also what wheel is it. sometimes the wheel offset will tell u if 225 will be likely to rub. 235/45 will be too much.
