So here we go...

As we all remember the previous ebay coils worked great. They were distinguished by the blue annodized caps, improperly fitted allen wrench and no span adjusters to just name a few features. Then they went off the market for several weeks and returned with a span adjuster wrench and mainly different because the caps are now a regular metal color NOT blue.

So here's the problem... Everything with the kit is pretty much the same, even the springs are exact matches when compared. BUT the coil adjusters on the new kit has about a 30 thousanths smaller diameter. Yes it's tiny but chances are they will now NOT work with almost all struts.

I have been running Spax, the old ones were an ideal fit. Not too tight not too loose. The new ones have no chance in hell of fitting. We tried shaving down the strut but it's too much material and it will begin to rust instantly with water contact. So that's not the right way. Can't press them as they seem they will crack or atleast warp running the adjustment.

So I made an urgent call to the only company which stocks these kits and they directed me to a tech. They verified this change which they were un aware of until my call. The shop doing the work had an SVT strut there and the kit is sold saying ti would fit on an OEM strut... NO CHANCE So pretty much I let them know the new product is useless, and since they removed the auctions that were tied to that product and contours. They are still up for cougars. So they found the last old version of the kit and are overnighting here (which I doubt will make it to Ohio from Cali in under 20 hours to my door.)

And the shop as well broke the old part that was on the car (baffles me and nowthey pay the price) So now they have a car stuck on the lift until the part comes in...

BTW a great part of the story... The spax struts 12K miles, 1 year of use with all varying heights even ultra low.. Still perfect, no leaks and still very resistant.
HIPROSPEED the seller gets an A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ for those looking for cheap ebay coils.

NO THE GEN 2's STILL WONT FIT

But with my situation they found 4 adjusters from the GEN 1 kit and overnighted them. It was great to see them realize my urgent situation and do that. They got the call yesterday around 4pm EST and I got the replacement at 12pm EST today. Just thought it's VERY rare an ebay seller would go to such an awesome effort when itself was not the manufact of the parts.

They seemed interested in the size change and might do something about it being that they seem to be the only carrier of these now.
they are the same guys that i got my gen 1 coilovers from also. i agree that they were very helpful. they even sent me spanner wrenches for them for free when i stated that the kit did not come with them. deffinatly a very good ebayer.

I have to say, the spax struts are a great deal on struts for our cars. Mine have been holding up on lowering springs for 2-3 years now with hard driving and are as good as they were the day I put them on.
