I barely have any mods done on my car and my 0-60 is 10.5 and my 1/4mile is 17.8 @ 77.9 and its a ATX. I wanted to know if these are good numbers and what are some of your #'s w/what mods.
Posted By: Kremithefrog Re: Need For Speed - 08/27/03 03:02 AM
yeah, those numbers are pretty decent for what you have done.
Posted By: Loco4G63 Re: Need For Speed - 08/27/03 05:01 AM
That is about right.

I reckon that's what mine would run, had it passed my WRC test...

mine is a 98 GL zetec ATX and I havnt done any performance mods to it. my times are a little better than that. no way it takes 10 seconds to get to 60 MPH

OK come to a meet so we can see who get to 60 first you or hector.... hector what was your 0-60 times when you did them last??? 9 something wasn't it?
Posted By: Loco4G63 Re: Need For Speed - 08/30/03 07:37 AM
8.5-9.0
Posted By: Lonely_soul82_dup1 Re: Need For Speed - 09/01/03 02:13 AM
10 seconds? Are you sure? My car is totally stock, and it takes no time at all to reach 60 mph. There have been many times when I was doing 65 - 70 and didn't realize it until my passenger said something.
Posted By: ChattavegasSE_dup1 Re: Need For Speed - 09/01/03 02:52 AM
My stock ATX Duratec runs the 1/8th mile at a best of 10.788 @ 65 mph, so I'd reckon my 0-60 is just under 10 seconds.
Posted By: Kremithefrog Re: Need For Speed - 09/01/03 04:18 AM
so my not stock slightly lowered weight zetec should run a high 10?

I'm running these numbers with mods. So until I figure out why, sounds good.

That's "takes no time" IS 10 seconds. That's how fast the time feels

Yeah dude, it really is that long...I had a Chrysler Town and Country rip me a new one a couple weeks back.

Talk about RIP! A 300M toasted me a couple times. It was like I was stopped

Yeah I remember before I had something to tell me how fast I was going I thought I could go to 60 in about 8 seconds. The reality hurts.

this thread is depressing yo. Our cars are just another reason to get a bigger engine or a different car.

Yeah...thats when I pull the Camaro or Z out of the garage for a spin
Posted By: Monstour Re: Need For Speed - 09/04/03 04:29 AM
Yeah thats when I pull my HUFFY out of the garage and hit the streets. (lol)

I don't even have a bike.
Posted By: Lonely_soul82_dup1 Re: Need For Speed - 09/04/03 05:16 PM
But I have taken a few Hondas off the line. And these were quick little cars that I took over too. This just isn't making any sense.
Posted By: ChattavegasSE_dup1 Re: Need For Speed - 09/05/03 12:59 AM
I'm not surprised you're pulling imports off the line. Torque gets you going, horsepower keeps you going. If you're putting down a heck of a lot of torque, ~130lbs for the MTX Duratec at ~2k, you're gonna walk a rice burner with NAWZ and other sheet cause it might have 600hp and 45lbs of torque. Now, you'll spank their monkey off the line no problem, but eventually the car is going fast enough to where the torque is no longer the advantage and the top end hp takes over. Gotta have the top end, too. My ATX Duratec runs door to door with a slightly modded ZX3 MTX Zetec. Our 60ft times are almost identical every run. At about 60mph (3rd gear for the MTX?) I start to run off on him. We race at an 1/8th mile track, so I finish at 65mph and he at 67 just slightly ahead of me. (typically; depends on R/T) Despite he wins and is going faster than me at the 1/8th mile mark, I'm catching up to him. I'm not positive, but I think I'd come right by him on the 1/4mi.

Remember "Your Honda doesn't make enough torque to tighten my lug nuts"

The end
