I just wondered how many of you ran your ATX Zetecs and what are your best times? Mine is in my sig.

My ATZ Zetec is too slow to make it to the end of the quarter mile before whoever is timing it gets bored and wanders off.

Something in my engine is just not quite right... after my head gasket repair and the compression increase that I ended up with, the thing has been a bit slower than stock, and even with the CTA I haven't quite caught up to normal yet. I'm hoping that the problem is just that the stock computer is confused by the compression change, and that a chip will allow it to take advantage of the compression. If not, I might have to pay someone with a lot of knowledge to look for where the performance problem is. I seriously need a chip. Probably have to pay for custom programming... but my income just dropped drastically.

You mean to tell no one has ran their ATX?

Only if you count stopwatches, not a very accurate way to do it.
0-60 A little over 9 seconds
1/4 mile...I dont even want to know...

I'm saying at least one other person had to run their ATX Zetec.

If not I am self-proclaimed fastest ATX Zetec.

They closed the track here, so I cant challenge you at all. I will probably never know how fast (or not) my car is

Well, one car that I could beat with my old Zetec/ATX were base Jettas. These are all over 'yuppieville' in Chicago and I liked showing them who is boss if they try to cut me off. They would think since they had a German car it could be quick.

No, this isn't "Street racing", just urban survival driving!

The strip isn't worth the $20 to get my baseline E/T.

Well, if Kevin would reply to my PM, I might be more apt to head to the track sometime.

i'm gonna wait till I get the street flight CAI, and body kit..since i have to jump on the body kit first and CAI will be around for a while...

I will be running my ATX Zetec late September or October

I'll post my timeslip, no matter how crappy the time is :P

Wait, is this an actual Zetec ATX time? If so, it's pretty decent. Isn't that about what a stock MTX does?
Posted By: CRZYDRVR_dup1 Re: ATX Zetec times - 08/29/02 01:50 AM
I would like to think its good, but its with a stopwatch, so there isnt 100% accuracy with that time.

If my memory is correct the MTX is about 9 stock... the ATX is around 11

Base, first few runs, average in June of 2001 cloudy -

17.8 @ 77 mph

Last Time at track - dark and cold - mods

17.3 @ 82 mph

what were your 1/8 mile times, wannabe?
Posted By: 00ContourSE_dup1 Re: ATX Zetec times - 09/01/02 03:48 PM
My Zetec ran something like 11.6##, 0-60 and it's bone stock.

Interestingly enough, I had 0-60'd a Taurus that I rented a week or so earlier, and it ran something like 10.45.

I love this car.

18.1
a little over 9 sec 0-60

With a Zetec ATX? What mods do you have? Something doesn't sound right. I ran 17.3 at 80 with CTA intake, K&N filter, Kamikaze race header/w hi flow cat, Matrix exhaust, Esslinger UDP, Superchip, and plugs/wires/coil.

Hector just remember each track is different...
we could always goto byron and drop a good second or more off our times without doing anything to our cars
