Where can i get an exhaust and intake for a completely stock 1990 contour with a 2.0 liter DOHC zetec engine.Or what exhaust and intake would you reccomend? If I get the SVT exhaust could i get my local muffler shop to jerry rig it up?

First off, the Contour was made in 1995-2000, not in 1990. If you were told you were buying a 1990 Contour, you got suckered into a Tempo, Escort, or a Taurus with Contour badges.

Second, SVT exhaust does fit with slight mods and yes a muffler shop can install it (Take the end mufflers off though for better sound.) There is a stickie at the top of the Zetec Performance page that says exhaust compilation.

Third, the intake there is a CAI intake that is made from CTA, went out of production. I made the intake on mine like this Sleeper Z It's just like a CAI (er, at least the same principles)

Fourth... SEARCH if the first three choices don't help

I concur with Augi. If your a really good deal finder, you can get both the exhaust and intake done for less than $200.

You can also get a Ford Focus/ZX2 intake that may require minor mods.

yea seriously man no worries... they did it to me when i first started here...

speaking of exhaust... the flex tubing in my 1999 contour has rusted thru... i was told that its aluminim and the rest is SS, is this true? Idk i'm kind of toying with getting a whole new exhaust, my buddy who owns an exhaust shop says he will fix it for like $50, isnt bad at all. I'm still kinf of toying with the idea of getting a new exhaust for the thing. I already got performance headers which i installed last week. Any suggestions for a new exhaust? I don't want the sound of a rice burner, or a can of beans or anything. Just a nice low rumble or a low resenator. Someone help me please?

Silverline is the way I went... It's been a year and I still obsess about the sound. It's a ford, it'll sound decent no matter what. Also, if you want a big can muffler, you might want to replace the resonator for an in-line muffler.

focus SVT headers will fit, take a look at some of the stickies, for intake information. looking for parts and modifying these cars can be a little challenging since it is somewhat of a dead market, but with some knowhow, you can make your own stuff and modify these cars nicely!

Just wanted to say thanx to everyone, again. However do to something that came up this week we have to fly to Buffalo, New York, then drive to siome small town outside Syracuse, and it has put a serious dent in our savings. So it'll be awhile before my mom gets another car and i get hers. Sorry for all your trouble! Once we save up again and get the money to finally buy our house my mom will get another vehicle, and i will finally get the Contour. Im so tired of waiting but i think I would prefer a roof over my head than living in the contour. But rest assured I will still visit and ask questions. I will regurly search the site and pick your brains for more info! Man the prices for last minute airline tickets are crazy.

When the contour eventually becomes mine I will try all the mods ya'll mentioned. Wish us good luck, seeing it's our first time flying .

This site is great and the people are very great, Thanks for providing a great site, and great answers to all my questions!

oh, and im only 16, so please dont think im a wierd 30 yr old guy who still lives with his mommy.
