does anybody know the head flatness spec for a 97 zetec head? my ford spec is definetely messed up and cannot be right so yea. thanks alot

My '96 shop manual says...

Cylinder Head .025/25 x 25 0.050/150 x 150


Cllinder Block 0.05/.52 0.076 Overall 150 x 150


That is EXACTLY how it reads from my manual. I'm not sure how to interpret that info, but that's what it says.

My '96 CD-ROM manual says the exact same as above.

BUT

My '00 CD-ROM manual says something completely different...

is that for a 00' zetec? because the VCT zetecs and the silvertops were considerably different engines.

Yes, the table was from my '00 CD-ROM manaul.


I would think it's still valid data. It's still the same cast iron block and aluminum head. I could put a VCT head on my non-VCT block. AFIAK, they didn't change any oil or coolant passages.

Heck, I'm planning on running the FRPP Focus head on my '96 block.
